Was bomb. Totally hit the spot. Reccomend the the plaintains and the coleslaw and the chicken.

Wheaton Location: I love the food. Unfortunately, they they never answer the phone. It’s pretty frustrating… they would get 50% more of my business if they answered the phone and took my order. If it wasn’t for that I would give 5 stars.

Good food, especially the chicken! Order your food ahead of time if you don’t want to wait.

Chicken is bland. Fries are frozen dreck cooked in old oil. Blech. I’ve been to the locale in Falls Church and it was better, so maybe just this location needs some improvements.

The best seasoned chicken you can get outside of your own kitchen, and the sauce will leave you licking your fingers like a fiend. Sides black beans and rice, yuca, fries, plantains are all good.

Peruvian chicken house, YUM. Hot sauce is dope, but an extra charge. Pretty cheap. I tried some of my friend’s sandwich and it was quite tasty. Fries were good too. I had the sausage plate. At first the cashier misheard me and charged me for the wrong item. I noticed right after I paid and brought it to her attention. She changed my order, but didn’t give me back the $ 1 extra she had charged. I didn’t think it was a huge deal, but my friend got her to give it back to me. After that, I think she was a little put off and my food seemed to take quite awhile for a simple sausage plate. Overall, was still tasty.

Read Unilocal reviews about how good the sandwiches are but it was just ok. The meat tasted decent but the medium heat sauce didn’t have any flavor, just some heat. The Rice and Beans was alright, rice was better than the beans. overall I was disappointed in what I got for that price.

One of our most favorite chicken places, the chicken was always succulent and juicy, with lots of flavor. Have to say this visit, not so much. Got the family platter whole chicken special for $ 13.99 which did not match the menu board description, which was my fault for not reading more closely. Mouths watering in anticipation, the first bite was extremely salty and the meat was dry. Sadly, it went downhill from there. The rest of the chicken was very dry, almost inedible, and the flavor seemed to only be on the surface. Over cooked and under marinated. Also, Maryland now has a $.05 bag tax, and I came prepared with my own bag. The girl didn’t ask and just charged for the bag, which appeared as if it were dug out of the recycle bin of the neighboring grocery store. Another peeve is the charge for extra sauce policy. This stuff is like crack, plain and simple, and worlds better then el polo rico’s sauces, then they hit you with $.45 each for extras. I pay it… but hate it! This being the first less than great experience, i’ll go back again. Watch for the results here.

Crisp & Juicy holds a very special place in my heart. It was my introduction to Peruvian pollo houses. Since then I have visited many other Peruvian pollo houses. Aside from having succulent and well seasoned chicken their sauce is what sets them apart from the competition. The spicy sauce is to die for!!! Make sure to try the yucca(you can even get it steamed if you like). Every time I visit the East Coast I make sure to schedule time to visit Crisp & Juicy to get my kicks in. This is saying a lot for the place since I am giving up a home cooked meal by my own mother for this place! I have visited several Crisp & Juicy locations as they are a small chain(family run) and I gather that most of the locations are about the same in their facilities. They are more like a cafeteria where you have to order and pick up your food at the counter. The ambiance is not the best, but the food makes up for what they are lacking in ambiance. I really like this place and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quick bite to eat that is delicious!

I tried Crisp & Juicy because I am a huge fan of Peruvian food. I walked in 45 minutes before they closed. The place was pretty empty, looked decent and clean. So far so good, right? My order: I ordered ¼ chicken + 2 sides(mashed potatoes and rice and beans.) I sat and waited for my order and absorbed my surroundings. I found the pace of the workers to be extremely slow and irritating. Very poor customer service. I understand it’s the end of the day and they want to go home but come on, pretend to move fast(if that’s possible.) It was the end of my work day, too and I wanted food in my stomach. I got tired of waiting… almost 10 minutes pass by so I peeked behind the counter and saw the lady throw mashed potatoes into a microwave. Right after the mashed potatoes got heated, she threw another plastic container of rice+beans. Ew. You’re seriously going to put my food in a microwave? A major no-no for a health conscious person trying to avoid the dangerous radiation of microwaved food. No-no #101– She finally gave me my order. Whew, right? Well, I looked in the bag to see how many containers of sauce she gave. Every Peruvian joint I go to give at least 3 – 5 and are more than willing to give more if you ask. I got 1 so I asked for more and she asked for $.45(each.) What the heck? Seriously? So ridiculous. So cheap. Big turn off. Time to eat! The potatoes were the potato flakes you mix with boiling water and butter to make mashed potatoes. The instant kind. Ya know, the type you made when you were a kid and were so proud because you«cooked» something. The rice were Uncle Bens’ish …kinda bland… like the type you steam in a bag or something. Definitely no flavor. The chicken was just chicken… no WOW factor at all. I do not know where all of these high ratings are coming from. Highly disappointed. I will never go back for more. Neverrrrr!

Nothing fancy, but oh soo good! Food that would surely satisfy any hungry stomach. I can see how this place would be a local favorite, glad that I got the chance to try it. It’s unfortunate that many non-locals(i.e. tourists) would probably not know or have the opportunity to try it. My first time eating Peruvian-style chicken, I’d call it comfort food at its best. The thick cuts of fried yuca were a great pairing with the juicy tender roasted chicken. I also tried their coleslaw and fried plantains and both were quite delicious.

This is the 3rd Crisp and Juicy location I’ve visited and among the three(Falls Church, Rockville, Wheaton), I would say Falls Church wins and Wheaton comes in a close second. It’s funny how although its the same franchise, each is so unique. The chicken is just as juicy, yuca just as crunchy, and sauces just as tasty. The only difference is that the Falls Church gives you a dinner roll with your meal. It’s not a big deal at all, I’m just noting it. So when all is said and done, you can satisfy your pollo cravings here just fine. Now I gotta try El Pollo Rico around the block!

You know… I’ll be honest with you. I avoided this place because of the name. It just wasn’t appealing when I saw that it wasn’t Fried Chicken. I mean it’s not even crisp! So the name threw me off, however one day I felt daring and decided to give it a whirl. And boy am I glad I did! But moving forward. The chicken I was actually impressed with. It was a tad too salty some days but overall the meat is extremely tender and the hot sauce??? TODIEFOR! The sides are decent, nothing to cry home about. The potato salad and the plantains are probably my favorite out of their options. One downfall is when I asked for ONE tiny extra container of the hot sauce, I was DENIED and told it HAD to be ordered at the register previous to picking up the order. The manager gave it to me but gave me a whole shabang about how important it was that I understand it be ordered before paying. Yeah… Additionally, my office has ordered from this specific location for office lunches and each time they have forgotten something or messed up our order. Although, they always return to resolve it try to avoid large orders because 99% chance they will mess it up.

My attention span is… wait, I forgot what I was going to say. Oh yeah, uh, I’m not good at paying attention to things, especially directions. Even with adequate signage in neon, ten feet tall, girls gone wild dancing around the signs, with a Sherpa pointing to it, I’ll somehow miss the clues. This is why it took me quite a while to find this Crisp & Juicy. But to my defense, this place was outside the mall, but not really outside? Basically, you have to walk out of the entrance with the cleaners, make a right, and there you are. So, why did I even bother to look for them? Because I’ve eaten at the other locations, and I’ve quite enjoyed their chicken. I wanted it so much that I decided that 10 minutes of my confused look face and asking people questions was worth it, just so I can eat here. And it’s good. It’s very good chicken. The meat is very tender and juicy. The skin is seasoned very well – it may be the best part. I love their plantains. I always get plantains. I’m not too wild about their rice and beans, though.

This was my favorite place to go when I went on break. So while I slaved away at the mall, I was always thinking what should I eat today? and Crisp and Juicy was always the first thing to pop up. The chicken is so scrumptious. The yucca fries are so warm and just give you that good feeling in your stomach. The sauce is also amazing. Yes it gets a little pricey if you work at the mall and decide you want it everyday but sometimes I just couldn’t resist. And don’t forget to taste their desserts because those are also pretty good. Oh and by the way Crisp and Juicy is technically next to Ruby Tuesday. Since there is nothing else next to it.

We came here a few days ago b/c my sister raved about their Peruvian chicken sandwiches. «Crisp & Juicy» is a chain restaurant with several locations in DC, MD, &VA. This particular location is part of Westfield Mall but you can only access it from the parking garage. All of us ordered the chicken sandwiches which has rotisserie charbroiled dark meat(~$ 4.95). The sandwiches are HUGE so unless you’re very hungry, consider ordering 1 sandwich for 2 people, or eating ½(and save the other ½ for the next day — that’s what my parents did). We did ask for everything on it so not only was it huge, it got to be pretty messy too … I used a lot of napkins! However that sandwich was absolutely delicious — which I attribute to the chicken and the special sauce(spicy!!). For sides, we ordered cole slaw & French fries. The cole slaw was good but had too much mayonnaise, and the fries seemed pricey for fries. Obviously we should’ve gotten the Yucca fries — after all, this is a Peruvian restaurant. Service was very nice & friendly. I will definitely be back.

First of all, this place is hard to find. Technically it’s located in Wheaton Mall, but not near the food court, and it isn’t even accessible from inside the mall. The entrance is on the outside — off a parking garage. However, once you’ve found it, you’ll enjoy the crisp and juicy chicken and the restaurant’s clean and bright space. And the price is just right, too — my ¼ white meat chicken with side salad and fries plus a soda was between $ 7 and $ 8.
