Please — whatever you do, if you are looking for help on your wedding day do not use Anika. I used her for my wedding and it was a huge mistake.
The week of my wedding I emailed Anika with requests for her to contact a few of my vendors to confirm details — I did not hear back from her for 3 days and by the 3^rd day I had already contacted most of them myself. The only vendor she had let me know she did contact was the bakery. We were doing one type of cake for our wedding cake and 2 other types of cakes as sheet cakes in the kitchen in order to save some money. I had asked her to confirm the types of cakes each would be which she told me she would. On our wedding day our main cake which was supposed to be chocolate and caramel brulee actually turned out to be pumpkin which my husband doesn’t even like — extremely disappointing as we took those bites together!
On the day of my wedding Anika was late (over an hour) — apparently could not find her glasses. I had asked her to pick up disposable glasses for champagne on herway for the wedding party to enjoy on our trolley as we couldn’t find ours — she arrived without them and luckily my mom was able to find some we could use. While I was getting my wedding dress on I asked for the assistance of my mom and my sister — not really necessary but I wanted them to be there as I put my dress on. Anika took it upon herself to not only help with this process, which was unnecessary but also be in every picture of me getting my dress on, putting my jewelry on, etc. There is not one photo of this moment without Anika in it. Such a bummer.
I gave Anika a list of photos I wanted to be taken at the church pre ceremony without me in them so that after the ceremony there would only be a small number of photos to take so me and my new husband could enjoy extra alone time before the reception. She did not check in with the photographer at any point and none of these photos were taken and therefore we spent quite a bit of time (even more than the Church allowed) after the ceremony taking pictures. Our ring bearers carried beautiful engraved ring dishes down the aisle with our rings attached, these came in pretty boxes from Paloma’s Nest which Anika did not feel the need to return to me.
On to the reception. Our reception was to start at 5:30, guests started arriving early and despite her knowing the start time, guests were allowed in to not only the cocktail area, but also the reception area before any of the set up was complete. When I attempted to see our reception room prior to the start, she actually yelled at me that I was not supposed to see it yet. From here things were a bit of a disaster in terms of the items Anika was supposed to take care of. Some of the décor was never finished as the guests were inside the cocktail area before the florist and caterers had finished the set up. We had numerous children in our wedding and I had purchased crayons and coloring books for the younger ones and larger hardcover classics for the older children — Anika never brought these from the hotel to the reception as requested and therefore the children never received them. If this was all not enough, during the week after our wedding we learned that a few guests had given us cash gifts in cards and these gifts were missing. The envelopes had clearly been opened and then poorly glued closed after the cash had been removed. Anika tried to claim that she had her eyes on these at all time although my parents reported that they saw the card box alone in the cocktail area long after the reception had started, they had assumed Anika had removed the cards at this point, but she admitted she did not do so until the reception was over.
I emailed Anika the day after my wedding about a few of the items as they came to light and did not hear back from her for days again. The entire experience with her was disappointing. I highly recommend against using her services, they caused me more stress prior to and after the wedding than if I had taken care of the matters on my own.

Highest praise for Anika Kai Events and the lovely Anika herself! I hired Anika for day-​of wedding coordination and she did that and so much more. Anika helped me think through every nuance of the big day and, along with help from her staff, orchestrated the event flawlessly. Anika did not miss a single detail that we discussed and executed everything perfectly.
She also came prepared with the most well-​equipped «bridal emergency kit» ever and saved my bridal booty on several occasions with bandaids (those hot pink satin kate spades looked so innocent…), bobby pins, scissors, a brand new deodorant (whoops…)… the works!
In addition to pulling off the wedding coordination with total perfection, Anika was also a pleasure to work with — for us and all of our vendors. Many thanks to the lovely Anika and all the folks at Anika Kai Events!
