For over three decades, Family Tree has provided innovative, life-​changing services designed to end child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness. As the only organization in the state to address the interconnectedness among these issues, Family Tree is changing how individuals, families and communities see, respond to and overcome them. In the past year, Family Tree provided services to tens of thousands of people in efforts to empower individuals to discover their own strengths to create lasting, positive change.

Meet the Business Owner

Scott S.

Business Owner

Scott Shields joined Family Tree in 1998 and was named CEO on July 1, 2007. Scott has nearly fifteen years of not-​for-​profit leadership and management experience, and is responsible for the overall strategy and leadership of Family Tree, its employees and programs. Scott graduated from the College of William & Mary, and prior to joining Family Tree he spent several years in public accounting and working with a telecommunications start-​up company. He is the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Denver/​Boulder Better Business Bureau, a member of the Jefferson County Child and Youth Leadership Commission (CYLC), a member of the Board of Directors for Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN) and a member of the Board of Directors for the Colorado Association of Family and Children’s Agencies (CAFCA).
