Photo Element Studio is Denver’s premier photography studio that has been serving clients in-​studio and on-​location since 2004. Owner Julie DeBaca and photographer Ashley Hayward form an amazing team specializing in family portraits, wedding photography, and senior portraits. Tait — Julie D.

Business Owner

Photo Element is the love child of Julie Luehrs and Tait DeBaca. We both remember having a calling to photography early in our lives and we have followed that calling to our studio today. We met each other in 2002 while working as photographer’s assistants to a well known photographer and author.

We opened Photo Element during the summer of 2004 and have been loving life since. We are so blessed to have a career doing what we love to do by creating art for our Clients.

Each of us, with our individual styles, creates unique Art Pieces that capture the true meaning of that moment. That is why our relationship with our clients holds such importance. We want to get to know you and find out what makes that sparkle in your eye or shine in your smile. Because in the long run, without you… there is no magic moment to capture.

Great experience. Fantastic backyard with great natural settings for photos. Rustic elements, etc. Would definitely recommend them. I love my photos and look at my canvas daily. It brings me such joy and was worth the effort.

I found this studio through a Groupon years ago and have been continually impressed with the service, quality of the photography, atmosphere of the studio, professionalism of Julie and Tate, the list goes on!
I have 4 kids, so getting a good photo of everyone is no easy task. Julie is always beyond patient, and somehow able to calmly get all of my kids smiling and looking in the same direction at the same time! She works around our schedule, even once graciously rebooking us at the last minute because one of my kids got sick.
The studio space is filled with natural light and sweet, timeless props and backdrops and the back yard is simply stunning. A creek, a stone steps, an old chippy white fence, fall color… it’s like a Pinterest page back there!
Can’t recommend Photo Element Studio enough!

I’ve used Photo Element for my professional Real Estate Pictures. They were great and made me look fabulous-​not with Photoshop, but good photography. Of course I started out gorgeous! I would recommend them and have them give you the high pixel picture as well as the normal pixel picture for some websites.

I purchased a Groupon for a family photo shoot with prints and Christmas cards. Julie was amazing every step of the way and even let us come back another day when our 9 month old daughter wasn’t very happy that day. Our pictures turned out beautiful and Julie was so accommodating and helpful with creating our cards. I definitely would recommend Photo Element Studio to my family and friends!

Julie and Tate are WONDERFUL! We’ve been going to them for the last 5years for family shots. They are excellent photographers– very patient with little ones and capture such amazing shots (even when I feel like the kids cried the entire time!). Don’t hesitate– book a session and see for yourself how great they are! Plus their outdoor area is beyond amazing for outdoor shots!

Julie is amazing to work with. I scheduled a family session with my husband and 1 year old daughter, and he was not feeling it, that is, until we got there. He was put off by our engagement session by another photographer in front of the world at Confluence Park. Julie has a fabulous space behind her studio that’s the equivalent of a half-​acre yard. There’s a babbling brook and bridge, a flowery field, a well-​worn white picket fence, a barn-​like shed, and more. We all felt at ease with Julie and she even managed to get my husband to smile a few times. The photos turned out amazingly well and my husband has agreed to return next year for more!

Not only is the technical and creative abilities of Photo Element Studio’s chief photographer Julie Luehrs De Baca among the best you can find, but there is an unparalleled professionalism about her.
All you have to do is take a look the studio’s Facebook page to behold its imaginative talent; its whimsical ability to draw out the beauty and humanity in people. The pictures are simply spectacular, and the care and precision that goes into them puts Photo Element Studio in a league of its own.
I don’t usually take the time to write reviews of businesses, but in this case, Ive got to say, this is hands down the best place in Denver to get photographed.

Photo Element has done photos for us for four years (ever since seeing a photo on a colleague’s desk and asking, «Wow! Where did you get those done? They are awesome!).
I look back all all the photos from every session, and I smile (and tear up a little). Julie (and Tait) captured them perfectly at each age: their silly laugh, their obstinate smirk, their lovely baby faces… I also laugh because I can remember all that these photographers did to make my kids feel at home, and to photograph them perfectly. The silly dances, the silly songs… they know how to interact with kids, and the outcome is fantastic. We have often walked away, thinking there could be NO WAY they got good shots (because someone was grumpy, or teething or three years old…), and miraculously, they have. Every time.
Don’t hesitate to work with these wonderful, kind people. They have a gift and they’ll give it to you.

I can’t say enough about Photo Element. We used them first for our newborn shots back in early 2011 and have used them regularly since then to capture our family as we’ve grown both in number and in age. We’ve probably done a dozen or so shoots with them, and each time I’ve said to myself, «Wow, the kids were really poorly behaved, there’s no way these photos are going to turn out.» And each time the proofs have come back and it’s been difficult to decide which shots to order because they are so wonderful. We have their photos up throughout our house, and I love being able to see how we’ve grown over the years. Julie and Tait are both professional and kind and know just the right way to get the perfect photo.
