Established in 1636 in Japan, Samurai Academy welcomes people of all ages, backgrounds and experiences, with classes tailored to each individual’s personal development through traditional Japanese Kobudo (古武道) martial arts and culture.

Our children’s martial arts program is to develop not only physical and mental strengths, discipline, and confidence, and classes are taught by adult instructors who are direct students of our Soke Grandmaster.

Our instructors are experts on children’s discipline and behavior, giving your child the best individual care and development available anywhere. This training enables your child to gain an advantage not only in conditioning, but the mental and emotional sharpness that will give them the proper foundation to succeed anywhere in life.

We focus on helping students’ personal developments, health and growth, life betterment, self control, and deep knowledge in the way of the samurai, adapted for self-​defense in modern day life and reality.

We also offer traditional and progressive Japanese taiko drumming (太鼓) for both children and adults, as well as culturally rich workshops and free educational events that are great fun for the whole family.

In addition to teaching self-​defense for good people, Soke Grandmaster Tsuji encourages students to strive to be a better person, practicing respect, humility, honesty, perseverance, and to be a role model for adults and children.
