Husband and I considered having our wedding here, but the package deal wasn’t really for us. The venue is very pretty and I can totally understand why couples would want a package deal like this place but…
COUPLES PLEASE SPARE YOUR LOVED ONES! The dividers between the rooms are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the other rooms, service is only so-​so and the food. Oh dear lord, the food. Just, no. Hands down the absolute WORST wedding food I’ve ever had in my life. The bride of the wedding we went to here is one of my best friends and so I will never ever tell her how cold and just awful the food was, but it really was just not good. I got the fish and it was overly fishy, overbaked and tough. How they managed to have it overcooked and yet still somehow stonecold, I’ll never understand. Husband got the filet and it was fatty and also overcooked. The vegetables and potatoes were ok, but very sparse in the portion size. Husband and I left this wedding early because we were STARVING because the food was just so gross. We wound up hitting up a drive thru on the way home. Really disappointing.

I don’t normally write reviews but the service we received here was so good I decided to post on both Unilocal and Google+. I recently planned my sister-in-law’s wedding and it was held at the Chadwick. We had both the rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding ceremony and reception there. It is a beautiful place. The outside patio is a gorgeous place to hold a ceremony, even with with weather (early October) being a little cold. The front hall is lovely and the ballroom is perfect for decorating with your own decorations and putting your stamp on it. It’s obvious that a lot of time and effort has been put into the décor and the service is exceptional. Stacey and Jackie were available throughout the process and did an excellent job helping us plan. Jackie, Dana and Taylor were available the day of and kept everything running smoothly. The food was wonderful and served hot. Our every need was taken care of and the staff was professional and funny and made the day special. I’ve never experienced such a well-​run business and I recommend anyone looking for a party venue in Pittsburgh to consider the Chadwick. You won’t regret it!

I attended a wedding at the Chadwick and the outside ceremony was simply delightful! Gorgeous weather and a beautiful set up. The nuptials were held under a pavilion so if it did drizzle a bit, the bride & groom as well as the bridal party and guests would remain dry.
Afterwards, we were treated to light bites and cocktails. The appetizers were delicious, especially the blueberry and brie puffed pastry. I get that the people who run the place want it to look classy and sophisticated so there was not a garbage can in sight which led to piles of skewers, used napkins and plates strewn about until someone came to collect the them which didn’t look too classy.
The reception hall was spacious but the dance floor was a bit small. Dinner was given mixed reviews; I had a vegetarian meal which was exactly what I suspected… Pasta and veggies (when will caterers realize there are waaaay tastier options for herbavoirs?). Someone at my table ordered the chicken which they liked, as did the person who ordered fish. ¾ of the guests at my table had the filet mignon, including my date; half of the filets came out perfectly the other half came out blue. I swear I heard the cow moo as M cut through it and a friend of mine said she had to eat hers with the dinner roll just to give it texture. The vegan meal consisted of veggies and rice. One more thing I must mention about the meal… Each plate came with asparagus which was fantastic for me because it’s one of my favorite veggies but it didn’t dawn on me until I had to «break the seal» — EVERYONE ate asparagus

I have heard a mixture of opinions on The Chadwick over the years, but I thought I’d give them a chance now that I’m engaged and looking for a reception venue. This would have been a very convenient reception venue– only 3 minutes from our ceremony site! I scheduled the venue tour for 9:00 AM on a Saturday morning, after explaining to the coordinator that I had to work later that morning. She had assured me that we would begin at 9:00, and it would only take 30 – 45 minutes. This was perfect! I would have had plenty of time to tour the facility, hear all about the wonderful things they offer, and still make it to work on time. When my mother and I arrived at The Chadwick at 9:00, we rang the little doorbell and waited for someone to greet us. Ten minutes later, we rang it again, thinking that they must not have heard it. A few minutes later, the maintenance man informed us that there was a walk-​in couple who arrived a few minutes before us for a tour and that the coordinator would be with us shortly. Time ticked on, and at 9:15, we decided to leave. About half way to the car, the event coordinator ran out the door after us, begging us to stay longer and tour the facility and hear what she had to say. Her other couple was done, and had time to talk to us. We explained to her how unprofessional we found it for her to take another couple ahead of us. Why bother scheduling an appointment if they are going to take walk-​ins anyway? She gave us a ton of attitude, and insisted we follow her inside. We reluctantly agreed and saw the space, which was nothing special. The bar was a small rectangle cut out of the wall in the front corner of the room, and they will only add a second bar for an event with over 200 people. I thought that the lobby was much more beautiful than the ballroom itself, which was disappointing. If we are going to be treated like this BEFORE they have our money, how will they treat us after? We will never consider The Chadwick for an event again.

My boyfriend and I went here for Easter Brunch. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was fair… some things we had tasted great, others really not so great. We will not go there again because for the price it just was not worth it.

I recently hosted a bridal shower at the Chadwick. Stacy and Jackie, the event planners, were easily accessible by phone and email, and really seemed to care about making it a nice day for our group and also ensuring we got the most for our money. The event was in the Club Room, which was bright and airy, spotless, and set up exactly to our specifications. We had two dedicated servers who were a dream — professional and friendly, and totally on the ball. They seemed to know what we needed before we even asked (lighter for candles, cart to transport gifts to the car). And everyone raved about the food (brunch buffet). They even boxed up the leftovers for us to take home, which not every banquet hall will do.
So many places that specialize in large parties have a dated feel to them, but the décor here was new and modern. If you’re looking for a one-​stop shop for hosting a party, I definitely recommend The Chadwick

I am a bride and had my wedding at The Chadwick in May of 2013.
I’m going to preface this by saying that YES, I wanted a package deal. I was planning my event from out of state and wanted to deal with as few vendors and little nitty-​gritty details as possible.
My husband and I worked with Stacey for the planning piece– she was awesome and readily accessible through e-​mail or phone. I feel like I got everything that I wanted in the package that we designed together and that the pricing was fair. I would say that it would be a bit over-​priced on a Saturday though. (paying full price– Friday and Sunday weddings get a decent sized price break).
We had what they called the Elegant Sitdown Reception– 4 courses, plated and served. The food was pretty good for my taste and my guests loved it (which is what really mattered to me).
The outdoor patio is beautiful!
In response to a comment below– they must have updated the bathrooms. They look brand new now. They also did a bunch of work to the entrance hall that was under construction when I first went to tour the facility and completed by the time my wedding rolled around.
Our event coordinator was really on her game the day of and I have ZERO complaints about her.
tldr: my wedding was great! I was a very easygoing bride though and didn’t have any sort of «grand vision» that I needed the details to be perfect on. They executed what I had in mind as well we I would have myself.
Definitely recommend for a bride who has a busy schedule and wants to leave the details up to someone else.

Oh my… OH MY the food. Oh my…
So I went here for a wedding. The wedding was lovely. Lovely bride, lovely ceremony. The setup here wasn’t too bad either, but the food… oh my the food.

I literally considered dumping some of it on the floor so it looked like I had eaten something.

Oh my… The fish… was fishier than $.25 canned cat food, luke warm, and unspiced. The vegetables were sparse, microwaved to a self contained gerber approved mushed but not mashed consistency akin to soft raw tofu, and tasted about the same. The potatoes were boiled but left quartered (evident from the excess of water they were bathing in), with no spice and slightly raw in the middle.

I’m a wedding photographer and recently had the opportunity to shoot at the Chadwick.
It’s a different perspective but it works.
Food — typical but good, the wedding soup was wayyy to salty!
Lynda — She’s amazing and the BEST asest you have. She deserves a raise. I’m not kidding. To have someone that not only cars for the bride/​groom/​family but also those around her assisting, is an asset!
Our server — Diane quickly learned our table was also servants (photographers and video) she forgot our salads and never returned after that. No coffee, tea or cake. We’re used to that service but Lynda did not miss a beat.

We had our wedding here in July, it was perfect! The staff at Chadwick was so helpful in making sure that our day was perfect. We didn’t have to worry about setting anything up or taking anything down. The food was great and the cake from Lincoln Bakery was delicious! The prices for Sunday weddings were really reasonable. They helped make our day amazing!

I have been here over 10 times for business meetings with my company. The place is usually freezing (reminds me of the county morgue), the bathrooms need updated, and if you are a first time visitor you will most likely drive past the place ten times before you find it off of 19. Thinking about booking this place for a wedding reception, party, or business meeting? Well the food here seems all frozen and unoriginal. The lobby is the best part to bring your kids to. The hutch near the coat check has drawers that kids will get into and if your kid loves light bulbs and poison (hornet spray to be exact), they house it in this hutch for all to entertain themselves with.

I had my wedding reception at the Chadwick in Sept. 2008. If you are a bride that is ok with a «package deal» and aren’t too serious about having every detail being unique and perfect, the Chadwick works. In their wedding packages everything is included, such as table linens, drinks, and centerpieces. The food was great, the only complaint my guests had was that the drinks were really watered down. Also the table linens are basic cotton, so if you want fancy linens be prepared to rent from someone else. Also, I asked if I could have a different napkin fold and they said they couldn’t do it, even though it was pretty simple. Honestly in the end I couldn’t have cared less about the napkins, it was still alot of fun. I ended up getting my centerpieces from my florist because theirs were very plain. My reception was at 4 and my florist wasn’t allowed in until 3 because they had booked another party in the room for the morning. My florist rushed and got it done but it would have been nice if it she had more time. I had my bridal shower there and my bridesmaids all brought credit cards to pay and we got charged a fee for not having cash or check so I thought that was crazy. All in all though it was a good experience and the food and service was very good.
