Disappointed with return policy… ordered a GigaPan Epic Robotic Panohead — for Compact Point & Shoot Digital for the incorrect model. Despite the boxes being upopened, unused; the company would not allow me to return. I offered to pay shipping costs, to no avail!

Everything about it is great! Had incredible service-​the gentleman who helped me spent so much time explaining and showing me how to properly use my camera — the whole staff was super friendly and definitely knew what they were talking about.

Bergen County Camera has been a long time business on Westwood Ave. and I appreciate them a lot! The staff has never failed to help me not matter what the problem. They have the patience of Job when it comes to dealing with people who don’t really know anything about photography (me).
Although my purchases are often small, or I may want to make a hard copy of a picture of a new grandchild from my phone, they treat me as if I were about to purchase expensive camera equipment. They teach, are cheerful, and I’m always happy when I leave there.

Bergen County Camera is a great camera store.
They have an excellent selection of camera gear.
And the quality of used equipment is second to none.
It doesn’t matter what camera brand you like, they have it.

I strongly recommend Bergen County Camera for their advice, the products that they offer, and the service that they provide. It is hard to put a price tag on what they have done for my family and me. Although I used to favor buying camera equipment from discount sources, I have repeatedly discovered that the service that Bergen County Camera provides has helped me when I needed a lens repaired, advice on Nikon and Go Pro products, and most recently when I needed help recovering photos from a damaged memory card. Bergen County Camera is the only place where we shop for our cameras and photographic equipment.

Granddaughter selected to go on international school trip. Her mom gave her the family Nikon SLR to take. Suggested she get some one-​on-​one tutoring. I was elected to drive granddaughter to Bergen Camera. My grandfather and father were both did professional photography so I’ve been around the business but not necessarily current on every digital item. We signed up for one-​on-​one class with Paul Carretta. He instantly was able to connect with 15 year old granddaughter. Paul was able to explain ISO, f/​stops, shutter speeds, all the things she would need but do it in a manner that would improve her pictures. He gave her a list of «do it yourself» assignments to be sure she would understand the concepts after she left the store. She came with a list of stuff she needed to buy which we did not show to Paul until after the class. They have many choices in each category. Paul spent as much time explaining how to clean a lens with cleaner and cloth (maybe $ 10?) as he did on the more expensive flash attachment ($ 200+). Paul was totally focused on granddaughter getting the kinds of pictures she wanted, not on selling stuff or rushing her out the door. Was a very enjoyable experience, I learned a lot as well. On way home granddaughter asked if she could do it again just before they leave on the trip. We were both very thrilled with the Bergen County Camera experience and Mr. Carretta. We’ll be back.

My husband and I discovered Bergen County Camera through their Saturday morning «focus sessions». These are free 30 – 45 minute classes held in their store every Saturday morning. I was an absolute neophyte, with a budget point and shoot, and they taught me so much that I managed to get amazing images out of my little camera. So of course, when it was time for me to upgrade to a «big girl camera», I bought from BCC… and they did not disappoint. Hands-​on help whenever I need it; the best service and frequent field trips to the Bronx Zoo, Longwood Gardens and other great spots, with experts along to help you find the shots. Oh yeah, and a critique session after every field trip where you share prints of your best shots with classmates to learn new photographic perspectives. BCC has the kind of service that you thought didn’t exist anymore. Kudos to the entire staff!

I stopped by earlier this week to consult with them regarding my SLR camera. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with the help I received. The phone call I made before I stopped in however, was very kind and helpful.
The gentleman who helped me appeared to be having a bad day or just prejudged me before I got to the sales desk. Very cool demeanor, it was not a ‘happy’ exchange. He seemed to know what he was talking about which was reassuring but with a kind of ‘who-​uses-​manual-​slr-​cameras-​anymore’ smugness.
I can certainly understand what retail does to a person (don’t we all have a retail work story?) and I’ve responded the same way to customers before. It’s understandable but just stinks to be one of the negative experiences at a highly regarded camera retailer.

People here are super friendly. I came here to get my Cam checked and they were accomodating. I also came here for passport photo and the service was quick and pain-​free. Highly-​recommended!

Very helpful staff, takes their time to go over questions and answers. Carries Canon, Nikon, Leica and Sony.
Tons of useful products and will be happy to return for prints and camera equipment purchases. Appreciate the help from Steve.

I’m not a camera expert, so I wanted assistance when buying an expensive camera and lenses. Amazing service– they spent two hours with me looking at cameras, no high pressure selling like some places in NYC. Was able to try different cameras and lenses and actually feel them before buying. Maybe it costs a few dollars more than amazon and you have to pay tax but if you are interested in nice camera equipment I’m sure you can afford the extra pennies. Would never buy a camera in NYC or online again. Had questions, no problem came back in and they explained the camera. Don’t be a jerk and waste their time and then go buy online — this place reminds me what camera stores used to be like

Best customer service ever! They are such great people. I feel the warm presence of the staff the minute I walk through the door. Their friendly attitude and camera store reminds me of the customer service I used to receive when I lived in Orlando, FL. They are real and they don’t price match other competitors but they do ship with no tax to my home in Brooklyn.
Dan was super friendly and chatted with me a while about photography and my love for these super sharp lenses I was was purchasing. I am very happy and glad they are so close and only a short drive over the GW bridge to get to them.
I will never shop from B&H or Adorama again because they do not care about their customers like Bergen CC Does!

We decided to look into purchasing our latest camera upgrade from Bergen County Camera on recommendations from friends, and were not disappointed. The support we got from staff, the ability to test drive different models, to get support and chat with several of the employees was incredibly helpful. Not only that, we had double checked online prices of the cameras we were interested in getting, and the difference in price was within 10 dollars, well worth the in person service and courtesy we were shown.
Will be going back whenever we need to stock up on supplies!

This place is as good as it gets. They were closing the shop when I entered but gladly decided to engage me. I told Bob (Bob Gramegna) that there was a problem with my cameras exposure and he checked it out for me immediately. He took a couple of pictures and told me that the problem was with my bracket settings. He changed the bracket settings and tuned a bunch of other settings while explaining me why he was doing these. He cleaned the camera, the lens and the sensor before giving the camera back to me that it was good to go. When I asked him, what I owe for the service he said ‘Your unwavering loyalty’ and charged me nothing. Seriously, who charges nothing for anything these days. I am through my days buying camera related stuff on amazon. Bob, you got my unwavering loyalty. Yay!!!
PS: I am brown (India) and they treated me like family. I dont understand one reviewer calling them racist.

Go somewhere else that’s cheaper. Don’t bother selling cameras or equipment since they will buy it from you at a cheap price and then hike it up by atleast 80%. I agree with a lot of reviews around here, if you are not white then you will be ignored. There are other places you can go to and get 2% rewards in return be it amazon or b&h. There is no reason to buy at this store unless you want to get ripped off.

Service is something that was lost a few years back when everything electronic became disposable. Walking into BCC you feel like everyone in the store is generally concerned about your camera buying experience. It’s kinda weird but i miss that $hit. Most stores i walk into you have to stalk a sales person or stand on some line. Two other things that make this place great are, everyone in the place is an expert or they’ll ask one and they have the same prices as B&H!!!

When I first went to Bergen County Camera I was shocked! Shocked at the way Bob Gramegna made me feel so comfortable, I am by nature shy. Bob spent and hour of his time on someone who may or may not buy any of his merchandise but he showed his love of photography.
This caused me to not only come back to buy my first digital camera but been coming back to every time I need or want new camera merchandise, even if it is list price.
Bob and the rest of the staff there have spent time to answer any questions I have, show me any merchandise I was interested in, and yes even talked me out of buying things I really didn’t need.

For me, it doesn’t get any better than Bergen County Camera. You’ll usually pay close to full retail price for most things, but the service and support they provide more than makes up for it.
The store itself is well laid out, with sections for studio gear, darkroom supplies, tripods, digital accessories, bags, film, etc. The center of the store is where the action really is, the cameras. They have a great selection of new equipment for all levels of photographers. I love staring at the Leica cameras. Make sure you check out their long list of used equipment. It is full of great gear.
The staff is what makes the store for me. Most of them are seasoned photographers, so their advice comes from experience. Want to check out the latest lens? They’ll throw it on a camera body and let you try it out. I love having the chance to handle a product before I actually buy it. Meet the staff and you’ll be happy you walked in their door.
