I purchased two hats online from 47
when the hats arrived I was very surprised that they were the floppy style hat, you know, the hats that basically do not have a firm front logo area, but instead look like they’ve been through the wash a few times and would not stand on their own. For 30 $ a hat I would expect a better quality hat. The SF Giants insignia had black dye that bled onto the orange SF logo and the SF logo wasn’t bright orange but more of a duller orange. they were hats that you would expect to see for sale for much less in sports stores. I sent them back and am awaiting a refund, but I had to pay for shipping on my own. so basically I’m at a loss for 15 $. I’ll probably buy through Amazon from now on since they have free return shipping if your not satisfied with any product.

The baseball caps are sturdy and well made, but I noticed that they bleed if you sweat in them. This doesn’t happen right away, but over time it does. And not like years, but weeks to a couple months. I’m over 50 so I’m not working out that hard or that often and I’m indoors. At first I thought this would wash out, but it doesn’t it’s actually faded there. For a black hat it looks awful, for other colors its not as bad. This NEVER happens with my Nike baseball caps to mention just one other brand.
Now these guys don’t have a number to call if you have an issue, so I had to submit an email (customer service should always have a phone number that is prominently features on their website). Usually when I bring an issue on a product to a first class business they take the query seriously and tell me they will investigate. In this case I got an email reply suggesting a cap cover storage blog and that caps fade with usage (as if that’s normal). A f/​u reply explaining to them that fading could not be from sun as the caps were not in the sun and asking if they honestly think it’s okay for them to fade with sweat got the following terse response.
«It is the sweat. Don’t wear the hat while working out.»
Really?
Do most people buy baseball caps intending NEVER to sweat or NEVER to use them while, ahem, playing baseball (it is a baseball cap isn’t it?) or some other sport where they might be «working out» and god forbid might actually sweat?
What happens to the rest of the sports apparel that they make? Should I make sure I never wear one of their T shirts while I am «working out»? Just where do you think guys wear these things and if you say sporting events you should ask yourself the following question. Have you ever sweated while watching a Red Sox game? If you answered yes then maybe these are not the caps for you. For me I think maybe Nike next time.
Or even better maybe they will fix the caps so they don’t bleed like this. After all does the rest of their apparel bleed like this when you sweat in it? If not why can’t we make a cap that doesn’t bleed? Nike does.
