Dr. Richard Epstein is a family-​friendly dentist, specializing in cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and general dentistry. He is a Westport, Connecticut native, and has kept his practice here since 1984.

Business Owner

Dr. Epstein holds his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of Connecticut. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and The International Academy of Dento Facial Esthetics.

He is an active member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and The Connecticut State Dental Association, and has served on its Council on Public Education. He is on the staff of the dental clinic of Norwalk Hospital, where he also teaches dental assisting.

Dr. Epstein regularly attends post-​doctoral courses in scientific research in dentistry, with a particular interest in implants, emerging dental technology and cosmetic dentistry.

I’m writing to highly recommend Dr. Epstein and his team. They are wonderfully professional, have a wide range of working hours. There excellent service would be enough to get them these high marks and recommendation. That said, I’ll add their beautiful (calming) garden/​garden views and, my favorite, choose your own music Fridays. Also, I’ve had occasion to use the after hours emergency service. Nice to know its there; he lives next to his practice! Check them out at:

About 20 years ago I was new to the neighborhood and awoke one morning with a dental emergency. Knowing no one, I opened the local Yellow Pages and started making frantic calls. After several calls and rejections for a new patient emergency visit (I started with the «a’s) I reached Dr. Epstein’s office where I was offered an immediate emergency visit. Wonderful staff, comfortable, relaxing office environment and a personable, skilled professional to handle my problem. Now, 20 years later, I receive what I believe to be the best dental care available in Fairfield County… and, I love watching the birds flock to the back yard feeders. Schedule an appointment and you’ll see what I mean.

I made an appointment at Dr. Epstein’s office after not having been to a dentist in 2 years. I was very nervous, but as soon as I walked in to the office the receptionist came out to greet me and walk me through the paperwork. Unexpectedly I needed work done on a couple teeth and Dr. Epstein was able to accommodate the work and fix them then and there and did an excellent job. Today is the day after my work was done and I feel great and glad that I choose to drive a little out of my way to go to a dentist and hygienists I now feel comfortable with!

If you’re looking for a fabulous dentist, look no further! Dr. Epstein is a master! It was a great experience that started when I walked in the door. I’d never been to a dental office where I could be in the chair and watch «real» birds feeding right outside the window and gaze out upon a beautiful green landscape! The entire scene relaxed me including a friendly, efficient staff.
I was nervous about having some cosmetic work done and it turned out to be as painless as he had promised and was completed in fewer visits than I had thought. He is gentle and soft-​spoked but the best part was the fantastic end result. Perfectly matched color — I am smiling once again and grateful that I found this wonderful dentist! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I found his office ambience friendly and welcoming. It was also efficient and everything was on time. He and his staff were thorough and painstaking. I don’t mind dentists at all, but am intolerant of poor ones. I was very impressed by Dr. Epstein and have recommended him to several people already.

I’m a tough patient. I hate dentists, hate having my teeth cleaned (have very sensitive gums), have fired and been fired by many dentists. That is all changed now. When I recently had my teeth cleaned at Dr. Epstein’s office, it was a day of revelation. Pain free? Not possible, I thought. But boy was I in for the surprise of my life. Now I am looking forward to my next teeth cleaning. In addition to the absolutely pain-​free procedure, I sat in the chair watching the birds feeding from all the bird feeders in Dr. Epstein’s back yard. It is paradise at 2 Red Coat Road. Anyone who goes elsewhere for their dentistry should switch to Dr. Epstein immediately. Amazing. Simply amazing!
