Fabulous selection and service. A full service butcher with the personal touch. They also offer butchering classes which I hope to be able to take one day. The parking can be challenging, but I usually can find a spot in the little parking lot in front. They also have a little table set up for kids to hang out at while their parents browse the meat. Super great for my little ones to play with the farm animals and crayons while I shop. Why don’t more shops have things like that? Anyway, it’s very clean and cute inside and they are very friendly.

The dry aged ground is perfect for grilled hamburgers. The earthiness of the meat when charred with high heat on a charcoal BBQ on brioche with lettuce and tomato are as good as it gets. The organic heritage chickens have a flavor unlike any store bought chicken. The Bavette, Denver cut and hanger steaks are the best. Make sure you have lunch at the café.

Best butcher in CT– always very helpful with any questions about different meats and cuts. They offer a full animal butchering course which I can’t wait to sign up for the next course. Great sausage — dry aged steaks were amazing — true beefy taste

My favorite butcher… The quality of the meat here is outstanding and the staff is always pleasant and extremely helpful. The bacon and ground beef mix is phenomenal for burgers… Adds a whole new level of flavor. The dry-​aged, bone-​in ribeyes are my personal favorite. Be sure to give this place a try!

Always have a good selection of meats. The one day I came they did not have the cut I needed but they were happy to set up a pick up time for to come back later. The butchers are helpful with questions and take their time to help you out. I always come here when I am having a dinner party and need a premium cut of meat.

Craft Butchery is a quaint, clean shop. The butchers are very knowledgeable and friendly. And there selections look amazing. I have visited on three occasions and have had great service on all visits.
My purchases are as followed
Pork hoc and trotter
Lambs tongues
Pork cheeks
Marrow bones
They have all local raised meats and their attention to detail is bar none.
I highly recommend this shop and it’s refreshing to see guys paying homage to the way things should be, know where your food comes from and know your proveyers. Don’t hesitate to ask questions these guys really love the craft and get enthusiastic when speaking about their products.

Craft Butchery can make an organic homemade raw dog food! (ALWAYS talk to your veterinarian about pros and cons of feeding raw or homemade. It is important to make an informed choice.) It’s grass fed, organic, not from a factory farm, and handled with hygienic care. Sliced into serving size «burger patties.» We love feeding it to our dog, whose health has improved since the switch.
In addition to the assistance with dog food, these are «old fashioned» friendly butchers who know EVERY cut of meat and can give you tips and recipes. Amazing store.
I am mostly vegetarian myself (occasional lapses in moments of temptation) but I am thrilled to buy organic, local, HUMANELY farmed grass fed meats at Craft Butchery for the rest of my family to eat. You support local farms when you support this business.

This place is obviously a labor of love.
I’ve been buying my meat from here since the day it opened. The quality, freshness, and nose-​to-​tail selection can’t be beat. Everything is worth trying — from the stock to the sausage.
Local sourced butchery is the best thing to happen to farm-​to-​table. Knowing where your meat comes from, and who is preparing it, is wonderful. The payoff is the taste. Even un-​hyped and unheralded, the roasts, steaks and burgers draw compliments. The chicken, normally bland no matter where it comes from, has more and better flavor than anything wrapped in styrofoam and saranwrap.
Surprisingly, the prices are not much more than supermarket, and the difference in quality is exponentially better.
I think it is great to bring my kids in when they are breaking down an animal, so they develop a better understanding and respect for where their food comes from, and the sacrifice required to put that hot dog on their plate. No vegetarians, yet.
Call ahead with a bizarro shopping list (prosciuto ends? long-​cut shanks? Offal?) and prepare to be pleased.
And here is a little secret — the hot dogs, both pork and beef, are the best I’ve ever had.
I love what Ryan and Paul are doing with that business. Having a local butchery option has been a long time coming. I can’t wait until they move into their expanded location across the street — more square feet of goodness!

Exactly what a butcher shop should be — experts you can talk to, meats cut to order, etc. Hopefully shops like these can start to thrive again. I imagine parking blows on the weekend.

Without a doubt top notch! I love this place. The guys are friendly and know what they are doing. You can tell that Saugatuck Craft Butchery is an establishment run by love. What a breath of fresh air to find this place. The meats are excellent and everything is local. I refuse to go anywhere else. If you live in Fairfield County make sure to drop by and get get meats. You won’t be sorry!

It is so gratifying to walk into this store and look into the eyes of the butcher and order your meats. One look and you know that they hold their products to high standards and stand by it one hundred percent. They only offer organic meats produced in local farms thereby supporting the local farmers and their ideals!
Folks at Craft Butchery are always happy to help get you that special cut that you are looking for. If they don’t have it they will prepare it for you while you wait. With a wide array of choices and freshest cuts of meat, this is one place which will never disappoint. They even have special offerings like their signature meatballs, made with a delicious combination beef, pork, veal, special herbs and spices. All you have to do is brown them in a pan and add your favorite sauce to it. Voila! Dinner is served.

I’ve been here 3 times and have been blown away each time. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We discussed recipes and preparation each time I was there. I was so excited after my first visit that I signed up for a butchery class. I’ve purchased Pork Belly, Veal Bones (for marrow) and some sausages. I couldn’t be happier these guys are so close.
