Our 10 year old daughters (identified as having executive function issues) have been working with Jerry once a week for about six months and they are doing extremely well in school this year — in just a short time we have seen great strides made. We found Y3K after interviewing many tutors and we went with them because Jerry seemed so passionate about educating kids and helping them to achieve.
Jerry has a nice way about him and is very gifted in communicating with kids. He highlights the positive in a student’s work and is supportive and encouraging on the areas that need work. He is also receptive to parent input.

The Y3K Tutor In Your Home owner has worked with my high school student for the past two years, helping with executive function, study skills, organization, time management, and homework coaching. I am so grateful for his ability to act as coach, cheerleader and drill sergeant, often all at once. He enters our home with great energy no matter how late it is or how many students he may already have seen, and is instantly asking my student about last week’s test or homework assignment. He remembers the details of my student’s assignments — often better than the student does! The tutor presses gently but persistently until the results or outcomes are revealed. He has helped our student understand the importance of taking homework seriously and keeping up with it. He has contributed greatly to our student’s ability to track the volume of work and plan ahead for the coming week. This tutor is able to hold our student accountable and encourage the best effort in a way we, the parents, cannot do without a huge fight. Jerry provides weekly tutoring for my middle-​schooler who is bright but struggles with social pragmatics and rigidity, making public school a difficult learning environment. Jerry’s creative and non-​threatening approach is very effective in helping my son think critically about his assignments and his teachers’ expectations. In addition to developing his writing and language skills, Jerry is also able to feed his insatiable appetite for complex math by expanding on the basic concepts covered in the school curriculum. Jerry is an excellent academic tutor and is also very organized and dependable. I highly recommend him for a variety of learners and learning needs.

Jerry has been tutoring my kids — now in 10^th grade — since they were in elementary school. The specific needs have varied over the years and Jerry has always been able to adapt his teaching and style to provide what was needed. He is able to provide support across all the academic subjects — but just as critically — he has helped with organizational skills and planning. And he has remained even and cool-​headed in the face of difficult teenagers, resistant to getting help. In the face of reactions that would fell the most intact ego, Jerry has maintained his sense of humor. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Jerry has provided excellent academic support to my 7^th grade son. Last year we had battles and tears over homework and this year, with Jerry’s weekly tutoring, not only has my son’s resistance to homework and studying decreased, his grades have gotten better and better with Jerry’s help and guidance. He has an ability to relate to my child that somehow engages and challenges him to think at the same time. He never tells my son what the answers should be, but asks good questions, turns learning into something fun and provides clear academic structures and support all at the same time. Everything from science lab reports, to math and writing Jerry seems to have a way to help both me and my son through the homework and demands of 7^th grade.
