Bonaventure Resort & Spa

Stayed there for one night and was able to upgrade to the suite with Unilocal offer. The staff was great and very friendly. It’s a nice and quiet place. The room was spacious and very clean. Overall it was a great stay and definitely recommend it!

I recently stayed here from Friday to Tuesday and it was like two different worlds from the weekend to the weekdays. The whole weekend there was several events going on, one wedding, a graduation & birthday party. The music for the wedding was so incredibly loud I ended up with a pretty severe migraine, I didn’t make a stink about it because I didn’t think much would happen even if I did. The main pool was beautiful but because of the events going on I couldn’t find a single chair to sit at around the pool which was extremely frustrating. Monday & Tuesday were the complete opposite, maybe one or two other people at the pool & plenty of peace and quiet. On a lighter note our room was extremely clean & the staff were wonderful! If not for them this would have been a one star review.

I had a long day at work a few weeks ago and was dying for a massage, my mom told me she went to the spa here couple years back & told me to check it out. I decided to call at around 5, and a girl named Katherine helped me. I didn’t wanna go in that same day because I saw the hours online said they closed at 7, but she encouraged me to come in! I’m so glad I did. I got there and she was extremely accommodating & gave me so many options to choose from. The Swedish massage I had was amazing & well worth the price with all the amenities I got to use.

Although advertised in some places, this is not a Hyatt hotel any longer. Room dated and musty. The whole place was not well maintained. Would not go back.

At first I was a little bummed out that I came on vacation to Florida and didn’t stay at an ocean front hotel, but… My stay here was amazing! We stayed here for a total of 5 nights and we loved every minute of it. We went as a group of 7 people and got two different rooms and both rooms were very clean and comfortable. I loved the bathroom! I’m typically always turned off by hotel bathrooms but this was was super clean! Fully stocked with many towels and a lot of toilette paper. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower. The beds were super clean, I tend to break out in a rash while staying at hotels because my skin is very sensitive, but for some reason, with my stay here, that didn’t happen! And that was definitely a HUGE plus for someone like me. They had very large drawers you could put your clothes in and a lot of closet space. We also had a microwave and Mini fridge that we could use without any hidden fees. Our room was attended to every morning while we were out, so after long days, we’d always come back to a clean room.
The pool area was beautiful! Always clean, full of energy and we were always greeted. We ordered food by the pool and it came out pretty fast, the prices were very reasonable too. At night, we would take walks by the little river walk they had, which was full of huge gold fish and a beautiful swan, right next to that is the spa, with the most soothing music you could possibly hear. We would always walk to the pool area at night, where the waterfall would be lit up. They always had a gym that was top notch! Full of everything you would need or want for a workout and it was open ²⁴⁄₇. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again, we loved every minute of it.

Most of the staff here are rude… The bed is worn out with the springs popping through. I would not recommend to anyone.

we put our name in at the restaurant and was told 10 minutes. 30 minutes later we found a seat at the bar for a light meal.

AFTER ORDERING AND WAITING 30 minutes, I put on the stop watch.
58 minutes PLUS the 30 minutes waiting for a light sup.

This place was a dump. It touts itself as a resort. Possibly 30 years ago. Today, a tear down for a developer! (like the lot behind it).
Rooms are old, smell mildewy and you can hear your next door neighbors peeing!
Pools were dirty, and people smoking everywhere (they say non smoking resort)
Sadly we booked for 2 nights through a non cancelling website. So we couldn’t leave. Another couple joined us. I was embarrassed that I had suggested this place.
Can’t say anything good except I’m glad I’m not still there !

This hotels is not a 4 star hotel and its filthy with dust and bed bugs !!! Rooms are not even close to be a 4 star hotel standard room DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL !! You have been WARN !

Never Ever again will I sleep here, eat here, drink here or even potentially drive by. The rooms are gross, I feel as though they stole my money because it was such a bad experience.
I was «upgraded» but if that is an upgrade what is a normal room?
I checked for bed bugs, in doing so, found the mattress to be filthy on the side. The sheets had stains all over them, they were obviously clean but were old and needed to be replaced.
The bar is understaffed, doesn’t even have a cocktail menu. I definitely did not eat here or evn bring food in because it is gross.
The entire thing was old, it wasvhard to even stay there but it was late when I returned to my room. I ended up going to Walmart to buy sheets, even unwashed sheets from Walmart are better than sheets from here.
You have been warned.

The WORST customer service EVER. When we checked in we were barely addressed. We spent all day traveling and we’re famished we came down stairs and sat at Zen since that was the only place open. Sat there for a good 5 to 7 minutes and never once was addressed. They took everyone else’s order around us. So I finally walked up to the bar and asked them if they were not serving asked and was told yes but no one could find our server. Needless to say I walked out and ordered pizza. If it weren’t for our non refundable booking we did I would not stay here again but unfortunately I have one more stay left. To stay here is 159+ (if you find a deal) we paid close to 200 per night… save that money and go somewhere else. Nothing resort about this place.

I’m not sure why everyone is giving this hotel a bad review. We stayed one night for a concert and it was great!
They let us check in early free of charge– YES there is a security deposit (they put a $ 100 hold on my card) but if you just look before you book you would know that. Check in was fast and easy.
The room was clean, no bad odors as stated in other reviews, and the bathrooms were really nice. They provide you with plenty of pillows and towels.
The pools were clean. There were plenty of chairs to sit in and if you didn’t have a chair at the main pool you can go to any of the other pools throughout the property.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Dawn was awesome. She was our bartender at bar zen. She went out of her way to serve us. Excellent service.
My only recommendation would be to have 2 bartenders at the outdoor pool bar, when we went the bartender was extremely backed up.
Overall I would definitely stay here again. If you are thinking about booking but are nervous because of the reviews please just give this place a try– you won’t regret it.

Terrible. Stay away. A 2 star in Mexico is 10 times better. Customer service is appaling, like being in Venezuela. Scary guards, obnoxious attitudes. English, non existent. Rooms smell bad.
If you complain, they advise to go somewhere else. We did… and now are back to American style great service at a Hyatt Regency. Hillary Clinton should stay here…

I love this hotel! I make it a point to stay here every time I am in the area. You can get excellent deals through Priceline. Although they list as a «4 star resort» the rooms are not the best — they are small and old (remodeled) but the amenities are great. Value is fantastic considering Priceline express deals can be 40−50% off their asking price. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are great, the wifi is slow but free (faster is available at a price). This hotel is all about value for me — great value for the price, will stay here every time I am in the area.

I stayed here because it was close-​ish to the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston (about a 10 minute drive). Location is very scenic, lots of green (golf course and otherwise), water, trees, etc. The room itself looks like an older building that has been recently remodeled. Exterior stairs and walkways. Inside, the room was very nice if somewhat typical of a hotel. 2 beds, small table with 2 chairs, TV with basic cable, small fridge (no minbar), microwave, single-​serving coffeemaker. The bathroom was bigger and nicer than I expected — large quartz counter (although a single sink), separate toilet/​bidet area, large walk-​in shower.
In addition to the basic room rate, there was a $ 17 a night resort fee for the pool, fitness center, internet access, etc. Even with the additional fee, my stay was cheaper than the nearest Days Inn or La Quinta, and the Bonaventure is much nicer than either of those two.
Because of the nature of my stay, I did not get to fully enjoy the pool and other amenities of the resort, and that’s too bad, it looks very nice. I did get to check out the fitness center, and it’s better than any I’ve seen in a hotel. It has an assortment of free weights, some exercise machines, treadmills, and a stair machine.
One other comment. On the Travelocity website it says: «There is no after-​hours reception at this property. Guests arriving late won’t be able to check in until the next morning. » This is NOT TRUE. The Bonaventure Resort has someone at the front desk ²⁴⁄₇. I arrived at 2am and had no problem checking in. I hope Travelocity will change its description to reflect this.
The on-​site restaurant (Ireland’s) is excellent — I’ll post a separate review.
I suppose the only downside to this resort is that there’s not much else within walking distance. And if you’re looking for the beach, it’s about 15 miles away.

Enough said! Got here after booking through Hotwire. Probably won’t use that service again either. Very misleading!

Here for a wedding. Tropical Erika over shadow the wedding the garden wedding but the wedding went off without a hitch. The resort service was wonderful. There just isn’t anything to do out in Weston, Fl. Another minus is you have to drive for a good restaurant.

I got this hotel through orbitz and ended up paying full price anyway because they had 18 $ resort fees per night. I called to confirm and made sure that was all, they said yes. Upon checking in, was slapped with a $ 100 security deposit PER NIGHT. Sercurity for what? The cheap flat screen that’s not an HDTV, which was extremely disappointing. The 10 channels it did have were the worst quality and I couldn’t even use my laptop to connect onto it because it did not have an HDMI input.
There is NO PRIVACY. The walls are so thin and there is a connecting door with your neighbors. You forget how much you hate the sound of screaming kids at 1am until you can hear the parents having a full on conversation. It’s that thin. We asked to be moved and were, until a couple hours later a new guest arrived. You can hear the door slamming and the kids talking.
Becoming intimate is a nightmare when your neighbors are a breath away.
Wi-​fi was slow and horrible, luckily it wasn’t a business trip.
Bathroom is covered in granite, beautiful to look at but a huge hazard. The shower had a glass door that let water soak the floor. After using every towel to dry, still nearly slipped on the tiny drip on water by the sink. The only thing I liked in this hotel was the bidet.
Pool side doesn’t have enough chairs or umbrellas, there is nothing covering you from the Florida heat.
BREAKFAST IS NOT FREE! We unknowingly paid 15 $ per person for their breakfast buffet. We paid tip because they gave us coffee, but it really was not the type of breakfast I would’ve paid for.
Good luck traveling through the maze to get to the actual hotel. So many small turns and it’s so dark, we ended up getting hit right before we checked in.
I wanted to cry it was such a horrible experience. This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I will never go back.

I stay here because my company puts us up here when in Fort Lauderdale on business sometimes. Not sure exactly why other people come here though, and here are my reasons for liking it–
Excellent Gym. One of the best hotel gyms ever.
Chicken Mojo sandwich at the pool cabana is really good.
Rooms are super quiet.
Yes there are some cons too, as most other people have pointed out.
The place is old. Like your grandma’s house kinda. I have never had a room that was not clean. They are just a little dated, like grandma used to have money, and now she is a little thrifty in her old age. Everything works, everything is clean.
Would I come here for a few days for a business conference? absolutely.
Would I have my wedding here? Maybe, depends on what you want. Its not the happening club scene. the pool is pretty laid back and has kids sometimes splashing around. Its not a 20 something resort.
If you want to get some business done, have a killer workout, chill by the pool with some decent food, then you might be happy.
The staff has always been helpful and friendly to me.

The rooms make this place a 3 rating rather than a 4. The place is old and my room had the wear and tear, carpet and chair were on the not so fresh side. Bed was average and the pillows were comfortable. The hallways, etc. for the rooms just felt pretty worn out. The bathroom has seen it’s better days and there were plenty of toiletries which were good quality.
The conference center was great and the staff was always friendly. The grounds to the property needed some attention, you’ll mostly notice when walking around the nature path.

If you are checking this property and if this is the place, then make sure you check Unilocal for a free upgrade. The difference is day an night. You may have to check in on the app for the free upgrade to show. My fist room was moldy and the carpet was old & smelly. The room was indeed clean but if you have asthma or lung problems I would strongly suggest to stay away from building number 4.
With the Unilocal upgrade I was moved to building 7.
If you can before even checking in ask not to be put in building 4.
Depending on how much you pay per night, I wouldn’t be paying more than$ 150 per night at this place. Me returning to this place, most likely never unless corporate paying & no other choice .
The surrounding areas and the grounds are pretty nice.
