Ogilvie’s is a family owned full service lumber yard, hardware store and heating oil company. We offer many services from propane refills and screen repair to free local daily delivery. Ogilvie’s was founded in 1919 and continues the same level of hometown hospitality and service with modern products to ensure that our customers can maintain, improve, and enjoy their homes to their fullest potential.

History

Established in 1919.

In 1919, B.L. Ogilvie began his business buying coal and selling household goods in Weston, MA. He acquired horses for teaming and added a sawmill. Lumber was cut from what is now the Ogilvie Town Forest, milled at Warren Ave., and sold at retail. By 1927 B.L. had acquired 6 trucks and employed 10 men. The Company built several roads and houses in Weston. During the winter months they would plow snow for the town. In 1928, a rail siding was added for coal, grain, shavings, and lumber. Ogilvie’s continued to grow wand incorporate in 1932, also adding a heating oil business.

Today Ogilvie’s is a heating oil company offering 24 hour service, a lumber yard with all lumber under cover, a full service hardware store, and a propane filling station. Ogilvie also sells mason’s landscape supplies, loam and bark mulch.
