Max’s Mobile Small Engine

Ed came to my home and revived my Craftsman lawn mower that has been sidelined for a year. Ed displayed great attention to detail. He did a good job repairing my engine brake cable, sharpened my blade, changed the oil, and used Sea Foam to clean out mower engine. I would highly recommend Ed who owns Max’s Mobile Small Engine service. Very reasonably priced too!

I used Max’s for the first time this weekend and was absolutely thrilled. My 17 year old Honda single stage snow blower was not starting. Admittedly, I had not had it serviced EVER. I called Ed [the owner’s name] on a Friday afternoon, and he was able to come out the next day at 9 am, and he arrived punctually. I was a little put off by the old VW vehicle he drove up in but any reservation went away when he started working on the machine. He had it running in a few minutes and then started to look at other performance of the machine, lubricating parts as needed. He changed the oil and spark plug. He also found the scraper bar on the bottom of the blower was also in need of replacing. This proved to be a arduous task for Ed. I was surprised when he actually had the part with him, but then had to cut the bolts off because they were rusted. When he put the new scraper in place, he also put some «goop» on the bolts to insure this might not happen again. All in all, he not only did what I had asked but really did a bang up job of getting this older machine working in good order and he also giving me tips for treating the gasoline and how to properly store the machine during the summer. His price seemed reasonable especially since I did not have bring the blower to him. TERRIFIC.

Ed is excellent. Very down to earth and accommodating. He came over to fix my snow blower with 48 hours notice. His expertise is of the highest caliber; he seems extremely knowledgeable about small engines. And best of all, he’s very friendly. He loves what he does for a living, and he cares about his customers.

Ed is amazing. Down to earth, responsive, knowledgable and really, REALLY good at his job. Yes, he’s old school but in the best way possible.
Ed did a snow thrower for me (1999 Troy Bilt workhorse) and a quick mower tune up. He showed up when he said he was going to, did the job in my driveway without me having to cart a 250# thrower into my car, and charged a reasonable price. I also learned about six new things on small engine maintenance and upkeep (tip: always watch the pros and how their hands move — such economy of motion!). I can’t recommend Max’s mobile enough!
And, on reading the other reviews, I also realized I forgot to ask why he’s Ed and it’s Max’s :-)

Ed (not Max), came out promptly same day (which was a Sunday night) and fixed my lawn mower and sharpened the blades for a fair price. I haven’t had any trouble with it since, and can’t say enough about his prompt and efficient service. Ed even gave me some tips to prepare my mower for the winter and starting it back up next spring. Thank you! I would highly recommend him over any of the local stores who either won’t return your call or won’t even look at your mower for several weeks.

I’d term it good, old fashioned excellent service. Called Max’s Mobile and got a prompt return call from Ed. Explained the problem with my riding mower (it died) and he said he’d be out the next couple of days to take a look. Two days later I got another call and Ed said he’d swing by if I’d be home. To make a long story short, he arrived promptly, fixed the problem and gave me a lot of good tips on maintaining it in future. Was extremely impressed with what a friendly and knowledgeable guy Ed was. I definitely received five star service at a great price. Forgot to ask him why it’s called Max’s and he’s named Ed…

Ed knows his stuff and gets it done right. Super friendly and will come right to your house. I had a snow blower in need of repair and called him (he still has an answering machine– but he calls you back fast!) and he came over, diagnosed the problem and fixed my blower before the big blizzard we got. Highly recommended!

Wow, Ed was fantastic. Our Generac 4000XL Generator stopped running. Ed was able to diagnose the problem and ordered the part. He came back, installed the valve kit, fine tuned the unit. He is someone who will go the extra yard to complete the job.
