Firestone of Westmont

From my 12÷20÷14 post until now… DOWNHILL!!! These guys tried to charge me for two new brakes jobs in less than a year & I do not ride my breaks. THEY MUST THINK ALL WOMEN ARE STUPID AND DO NOT READ THEIR WORK ORDERS OR WORK THAT WILL NEED TO BE DONE!!! So… under the circumstances where I was just shafted due to my medical by my now ex, these guys knew & attempted to further the hardship!!! I am not the first to deal with their $ 500.00 minimum before leaving their shop… see other reviews… Firestone also wanted to charge me approx. $ 500.00 for a new headlight assembly, BUT I WILL SAY GO TO GENE’S TIRE & AUTO… they saved me $ 400.00 on that aspect alone… a bit of rewiring… FIVE STARS TO GENE’S TIRE & AUTO IN WESTMONT, IL BY THORNTON’S!!! They also checked my brakes due to this and left CV axle. ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT FIRESTONE IS WATCH OUT FOR WORK DONE VS WORK NEEDING TO BE DONE… MOST OF ALL… GO TO GENE’S TIRE AND AUTO & TELL THEM Debbie R. sent you!

Went there the other day for an oil change. Excellent service. Front counter associate was very helpful in explaining all the services that were recommended for my car. Excellent mechanic service. Will definitely be a repeat customer

I had a wonderful experience at Firestone of Westmont. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. They completed my oil change in no time and thoroughly answered all of my questions. The location was clean and tidy. I will definitely be returning.

Friendly guys. Will fit you in without an appointment. Honest told me a certain repair was under warrantee. Took the time to explain things. Would recommend to a friend. Toys in waiting area for parents.

They need a refresher training.
Sloppy work. I ended up bringing my car to this location because they were the only ones open on a very early Sunday morning.
My car overheated on the expressway that day and I had no choice. They gave us an estimate of $ 250, but we had to leave my car because they didn’t have the part needed to repair my car. However, when it was time to pay the bill a few days later, the price jumped to $ 326. How the heck?!
So, as I get in my car, the service engine turned on. I brought it to their attention and the young man reset it, and the light engine turned off. My husband asked him, «that’s it?» And his response: «yep.»
Two days later, on my way to my doctor’s appointment on the expressway, my car overheats once again. It made me wonder what they did the first time my car was «serviced.»
I ended up missing a very important doctor’s appointment that day.
Ended up bringing the car’s problem to their attention and with the guarantee, they had to look at the car again.
Apparently, they had to go online to see why my car kept overheating. Unfreakingbelievable. As I stated, they need to go back to school and reassess their training in car mechanics.
You’ve been warned.

Worst customer service Ever !!! Had a flat tire and went for the first time to this shop because it’s closer to my house. Waited 30 min for them to just check if they have the tire I needed. While 3 employees where just talking and chilling. The «Manager» was so rude. I asked him 3 times if they checked and he said we r working on it. WHAT? 30 min to check in the system??? Never going back. Ever again. Went to Discount Tires which is across the street. Everything done in 20 min.

I got a quote from Mercedes in Westmont for $ 700 to have my front break pads and rotors replaced. *E350 2011 sports package 4matic*
Naturally, being Asian… I had to call around looking for a better deal.
Spoke with Ben and Rick, different times… and they gave me the same quote $ 460.
Done — Firestone of Westmont has the best deal, out of the many quotes.
READ THE BOTTOM INFO PLEASE. SAVE THE TRIP!!!

Since my dad is here from Cali, and he used to own a dealership… I knew he knows about cars… I brought him along…
When we arrived at Firestone… Rick looked at us… and didn’t even greet us.
Bullsh*t right?! Ugh
When I told him that I called before, for my break pads and rotors… his eyes lit up… I could see dollar signs… i swear!!!
Then, he got it checked… I waited for while… my dad was there checking this with the mechanic…
and my dad agreed, breaks and rotors need replacement… Rick quoted me $ 566
$ 100 more than the original quote… I was getting pissed, I mean… he knew what kind of car I had when i called… so what’s different now than the phone quote?
Face to face bullcrap…
So. I decided to get it done… I asked Rick to PRINT the damn quote.
Then, I presented a $ 50 Firestone coupon I had… He had to ask Ben (manager) to approve it… I’m like… hello!!! The coupon says… ANY BREAK SERVICE $ 50 OFF stupid… ugh! $ 516… I guess that will do…
Ben brought us home since its a 2 minute ride to my house…
All is fine till two hours later when Rick calls me… saying, he made a mistake on the quote… because the ROTORS is actually more expensive… it will be $ 100 more…
I’m like… OMG!!! since I gave you a $ 50 coupon, you want to charge me $ 100 more now?! Unbelieveable… NO freaking way!!! You made a mistake Rick… you don’t make me pay for your damn mistake…
So he calls me at 3pm saying my car is done… my BF and I went there… it’s not done…
I told Rick… make sure that the old parts (esp rotors) will be returned to me…
You know what Rick said? He said «REALLY?» I’m like… am i freaking stuttering!!!
How the hell will i know if you replaced my rotors or not? I am not stupid.
So finally, when we picked up my car at 4pm…
Rick was shouting at me, explaining why he had to add $ 100 more…
Rick said… i actually didn’t add labor to the quote!!!
Are you kidding me Rick? Who gives a printed quote and not put all the details… Oh that’s right… YOU RICK only YOU!!!
I’m like… I agreed to $ 516…I will ONLY pay $ 516… $ 566 is your printed quote minus $ 50 coupon… Thats it… Call your manager and deal with this…
WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING AT ME? YOU MADE THE MISTAKE RICK!!!
Ben, the manager… I am sure is concerned about Rick… most probably will be deducted from his pay… But that’s a mistake on Rick’s part…
If he was honest about the real price, I could’ve decided if it was best to just bring it to Mercedes… why would I pay $ 660 for aftermarket parts, when I can get MB original parts and labor for $ 700???
Ben decided to just give me the discount and pay $ 505… Thanks Ben… this ONE STAR is FOR YOU…

Ben and Rick saw… that I came with my BF who also drives a Benz… seriously? If you had some sense of business acumen, you want customers to come back Rick… not despise you and rant on Unilocal. GGRRRRRRRR!!! BOOO Rick BOOO !!!

This place has Attitude problems, specially RICK at the desk, who never looks happy .I was there today for basic oil change but I will never go back again .I did follow up with store manager Ben and try to explain what happen, but he was protecting his co worker .This place is no longer under the Firestone management and they are own by some private party, that’s why they have no customer relation service so they can do whatever they want .If you ever go there make sure you ask Twice about the prices and check you oil filter and level of your oil .I will never go back again.

Incompetent, I went there and they said I was leaking from my rear axel and needed to replace the seal. I went back 3 times after they put 2 seals in and it still leaked, told me they can send me to a rear axel specialist. The truck had only 60 000 miles. I took it to Auto Docs on 83 and they put a new seal in truck and I’ve put 20 000 miles on it and no leak. Plus I only had to go once for them to do it right.

About 2 weeks ago, I just took it in for an estimate for an oil leak. The guy at this Firestone location proceeded to tell me the leak was coming from a «hose assembly» and it would cost $ 500 + to replace, then they would put some purple dye in my truck to see if it leaked anywhere else, because they couldn’t pinpoint the leak but that it was definitely coming from there initially. Well, I went to steam clean the underside of the truck (got all soaking wet by the way and it’s 30 degrees outside) and found NO leaks at that location and saw that the oil filter was not installed correctly — I tightened up the oil filter and nothing is leaking now. My truck has been sitting over a piece of cardboard for over a day and there is not a single drip after tightening the oil filter. It;s an older truck and my heater core just went out but I am not taking it there. I even told the guy I had more work to do, but guess what, I am not going back there and will never say one good thing about them.
I am sick of these places trying to rip me off because I am a woman! If you take your car there for a repair estimate, make sure you get a 2^nd opinion from someone you trust. What a shame this place has to practice deceiving people. My truck will need future work, and they lost a loyal customer plus more recommendations because of this. Apparently, there are still unsuspecting helpless people going there. It’s hard to find an honest mechanic. Thank goodness I have found someone else who gets a lot of repeat business and referrals because of his honesty.

Good customer service. They did an alignment on my Fiancé’s car. A few months later, it was pulling to the right again. They not only looked at it for free, but were willing to fix it for free. It turned out that the tire was so low, it affected the alignment, so they filled it with air and sent me on my way. No charge for looking at it or anything.

Got my oil changed here and both my filters changed with my DUKE’S OIL coupons. It was done very quickly and there was no need for an appointment.

I was not happy with the prices or how fast the work would have been done. I prefer the garage behind Duke of Oil across the street. The guys over there spotted my serpentine belt was going to break and save me a huge problem, or maybe even my car.

I have been going there for over a decade. In the last few years there has been an extrememly noticable change in the quality of their work. It was a place you could take your car and expect them to replace just what is needed and offer a good price and often a discount. After 4 times of seeing half done work, overpriced repairs and long repair times I became suspicious. A change in the normal service advisor was the final straw. After being lied to several times and giiving me attitude like he could care less, I am done going there.
One part I was quoted around $ 450.00 for was purchased and installed by some other auto repair at a $ 125.00 part cost — yes both 3^rd party makers. I gave Mr Attitute the chance to meet or get close to that cost but he obviously doesn’t need the business. I notice their parking lot is no longer full every day as it has been for years. Won’t be back.

One of the few places in the area that will repair tires and not give you the runaround. The do quality oil changes too. Keep an eye on your mailbox, they’re always running coupons.
