I came to the shop for another smog check On a 2002 Camry. I had a recent check engine light, so they verified that the engine computer was ready for the smog check (it wasn’t, I had to drive another 50 miles to get the engine computer to «ready» status). Smog check was quick and very reasonably priced at $ 40 total, including certificate.
They also found that the starter needed to be replaced. I had noticed lots of hard starting in the last few months, so I wasn’t surprised. Their pricing was very reasonable. $ 145 for a rebuilt starter with a 1 year warranty. The rebuilt starter part alone was $ 100 – 130 at local auto parts stores, so it was well worth it to pay the small labor charge.
Finally, the mechanic inspected a power rear window that had stopped working. I picked up the car and it was working, no charge.
I’ve always been impressed with their no nonsense, low pressure explanation of the necessary repairs. This visit was more of the same. I’m a male who knows his way around cars, but I’m happy to report that I witnessed them treat other customers the same way (older female customer with no apparent knowledge of auto mechanics). FWIW, I would send my mother here for car repairs.
I usually do most of my own auto repairs and have a decent knowledge of automotive systems so I can tell if mechanics are selling unnecessary repairs and /​or parts. Smog Tech has always been honest and very efficient.

Stopped in with no appt… Viet shop, nice guys… had me in and out in about 25 mins… doesn’t get any faster than that!

I live close by the shop was recommended from a friend took my car in to get a second opinion on a cracked motor mount the mechanic there told me there was nothing wrong to check my oil to fill it and to watch the fluids that I don’t know what the inside of my motor looks like I don’t know what I’m talking about why because I’m a woman I’ve had the car for 12 years I think I know what the inside of my car and the engine looks like this man is an idiot don’t take your car there

Cheap and good but I think they might have used zip ties on my car which I’m not to thrilled about

I have brought all our cars to this place for years I recommended it to my family and they brought there care here. Than something changed this year don’t know why but problems with their work started. First was my brother In Law took his car there they did the repairs charged him than when the car didn’t start they told him they couldn’t fix it had too many problems than yelled at him to have it towed away. when he told me this I thought it must be a misunderstanding since the had always done a good job. than I took my car in to fix the AC they said it was fixed I paid drove it home it wasn’t fixed I took it back they said it was another problem the switch. I paid again they said they fixed it but it would only go on with the switch on high and wouldn’t get cool so I took it back again and again it still was not right. Winter came and I got a new car so I gave up on the AC the car ran fine so I figured the AC just couldn’t be fixed and I didn’t want to spend anymore money on it since I had paid for repairs several times. A few months later the car started running ruff so again I took it to our local trusted mechanic two days later I called to find out what the problem was since they never called to tell me what it needed. He said it needed a cap and rotor it would be $ 325 to fix it I said ok do it two days more still no call. Next day my husband went their in person (since one thing that has always been a problem with this place is understanding them over the phone since we don’t speak Vietnamese so in person it’s easier to understand) to find out if it was ready when he arrived our cars engine was taken apart parts were in the back seat. When he asked what was wrong why wasn’t it done he just told him that it had no compression and to get it off his property as soon as possible we were shocked we tried again and again to find out what the problem was but all we got was no compression tow it away. we couldn’t believe it we had used this place for so many years he knew us and our family he was so rude and we drove the car their now the engine is apart and parts are in the back seat. So now we have to get it towed find a new shop to fix it I am shocked that he would treat his loyal long time customers this way. I thought when he did it to my brother in law I thought it was just a misunderstanding but I guess that this is how they are treating customers now don’t know what changed but we will never use them again.

The service here is old school no frills auto repair… if it’s maintenance they ask if you want OEM or aftermarket and the rates are more than reasonable considering the effeciency by which they operate… if you show up during lunch expect a little wait. other than than definitely recommend

Great customer service and friendly staff! This is my go to place for smog and oil change. Last Saturday I came in about 1 for a smog check and they took care of me right away. Always love the service here.

Smog Tech does full auto repairs, not just smog checks. I’ve been coming here for 10 years since I moved to Westminster. I started coming for smog checks and then oil changes. Now they are my «go to» repair guys. They have done various jobs for me on several different vehicles, including radiator change, intake manifold, electrical repair, and scheduled maintenance. They always have lowest price. The best thing is they don’t BS you, they give accurate estimates, they don’t try to up sell you on a things you didn’t ask for or don’t need. They work extremely fast, often calling me to pick my car a few hours before expected. Except for one big job I had them do, they’ve always had my cars done in less than a day. For quick, honest, straight forward car service, these are your guys.

These guys were fast and super courteous. In and out in 30 mins. Would highly reccommend.

Came to this place to get an oil change. I must say prices were awesome and they were quick with the oil change! I also came back to get my air conditioner recharged for the summer. They did a wonderful job, i would definitely recommend coming here for car repairs.

I came to have a smog checked. Smog Tech had very friendly service at an affordable prices compared to other places. They were fast and efficient. After testing a few other places throughout the years, I will definitely be staying with this one for smog check and repairs.

Smog Tech has repaired my car several times (all unrelated!) Always was treated great and had a good experience every time. I’ve also gotten my smog check there and they are fast a reliable.

Went here to get my car smog checked since it is listed by DMV as a Gold Shield approved shop. That means they double as smog test only station and licensed to do repairs. The prices are reasonable and it’s close by my house. Paid $ 40 for diagnosis and smog check. My car passed! Would recommend this place to friends and family. The place seems be honest and legit to do business with will come back in the future for smog checks & other related needs.
