Overpriced compare to c và lu and the food sucks !!! I swear c và lau has better food, faster service, and cheaper price. I was literally like the only group and food took forever. The Lu sucks and so are the balut, shrimps. c và lu forever. Service is whatever. Those girls are not friendly. Never come back

Food is ok, not good good. Service is so so. But charging for heater is ridiculous! May be they’ll charge for AC too if you come here during the summer!

First of all, I don’t mind the bad, depressing singing of the drunken patrons, the nerdy, clumsy waitress or the 5’2, manager/owner/whatever coming over interrupting our conversation several times like he knows me! no he doesn’t! He came over to drink with us a few times but not once did he ask if we needed anything. LOL sorry but you are NOT that cool. But I got severe diarrhea after eating there the second time. And no it is not my stomach. I get these once every few months, only when I have eaten unsanitary food at an unfamiliar restaurant such as this. So, you have been warned! Second, I got there hungry so I ordered fried rice at the beginning and it took them 3 hours to bring it out, just right after we ordered $ 100 worth of clams and oysters and other more expensive dishes. They withheld the rice so we would stay hungry and order the more expensive dishes. Dirty/unsanitary place, horrible service, annoying/useless manager.

I reviewed all around from restrooms, service, and everything else including food. Food was very awesome and the drinks are great even though it’s pricy. I’ve tried the snails and have lots of flavors to go with to combine(spicy to other combos). Customer service is good enough to speak in both languages. Restrooms are clean and the design relates to the menu so well together. :) I would mostly come back.

Came here just to try out the oc(snails) dishes. Some dishes weren’t available til dinner which was unfortunate since I was there for lunch. Not very many people in the restaurant so I thought everything would be available but apparently their food delivery doesn’t arrived til dinner. Ordered the snails w/pepper, clams w/tamarind, and the snail crab soup. Soup was huge so great for sharing. Place was a little pricey for Little Saigon. Pics on Instagram @amanda.n_

The food was good, but too peppery. Every dish we ordered was too peppery, even things that were grilled with green onions. Price is a bit high … Fries were $ 8 just to give you an idea. They also charge extra if you use a credit card to pay instead of paying with cash …

I don’t know why this place has such bad reviews. The customer service is great. The lady, who seems to be the manager/store owner is super friendly and compliments my family a lot! Every food my family ordered tasted SOOOOGOOOD. This place might be a bit pricey but it’s seafood so that’s expected. My family doesn’t mind paying more for good quality seafood. We all split the bill anyways. The sojo taste yummy. They have peach, pineapple, mango, and strawberry The non seafood item that we ordered also tasted good. My favorite was the fried chicken with fish sauce. It sounds weird but the sauce taste YUMMMMY The flavors here reminds me of the authentic flavors in Vietnam. I prefer outdoor seating. The only bad thing here is the dirty grill and they left a dirty cutting board out in the open. But overall I will definitely come back

Even though there were so many bad reviews, I decided to give it a shot. Food(8⁄10) — little above average. Prices(5⁄10) — kind of overpriced based on what u get. Customers service(10⁄10) — the staffs were extremely friendly and helpful.

Been wanting to try this place after seeing friends post on fb and I love sea snail in general. Should have known that the food is mediocre if you are the only customer during lunch hour on a Sunday. First of all for those that complain about water, mine come in a bottle of Arrowhead with 3 small cup filled with ice. Don’t know about other but the customer service was nice but then again maybe I’m the only one there As for the food, it was decent not very appealing. Maybe if they add a little herb on the top, it would look better. The snails are heavily in oil. Don’t order the salad. I wanted oc huong with xoai, it was like 5 slices of oc huong, maybe couple green mango slice the rest are papaya and it in need of salt as it is very bland. The razor clam are so small that it become chewy when it overcooked. The price is either the same if not more than other places that sell the same type of food. The menu is not kid friendly food so beware if u have kids with you.

This place is definitely going through an identity crisis. We came in on a Sunday early dinner and it was pretty empty but the eating areas are huge and it has a cool outdoor eating area as well. We were sort of half ass greeted by the hostess that seemed like she didnt know what she was doing and wasnt sure if she wanted us to come in. There was a lady at the bar that seemed friendly and invited us to an explanation of the menu. Once we sat down we ordered the large thai hotpot dish for $ 30 for three people. The waitress seemed very inexperienced and her voice was so soft i had to ask her to repeat herself. Once the food came out though it portion was pretty good. It was similar to OC Lau down the street with a $ 20 large hotpot. It was a bit larger here comparatively and included a variety of seafood including snails. The veggie dish included shitake mushrooms which was nice too The soup base was good with the right amount of spice but seemed a little high in MSG(I woke up with dry mouth). Overall our hotpot dish was good. The downside would be the other dishes. Other patrons seemed to order some of the appetizer dishes which was in the range of $ 9 to $ 15 and when it came out, it was super small portions. The other reviews have pictures of the portions and the prices and it totally seemed like a ripoff on Unilocal and in person. Attach that to the service which was really subpar(even for a vietenamese restaurant), no alcohol… not that great overall. I’d like to suggest you either go high end appitizers and up the service/add beer at least, music, happy hour, cheap fries or something to aid in people buying high priced items… or… you go the OC Lau route and go cheap everything/service and make profit in the mass sales you get.

I was in Little Saigon for the Tet celebration(Feb 19, 2015) and this restaurant was the only one around Phc Lc Th area that opened on the New Year’s, so I wanted to check it out. It was a huge disappointment. We waited for more than 30 minutes for the first order to arrive. My friend wanted to leave but I told him to stay and give it a chance. I wish I had listened to him. After waiting for more than half an hour for the first dish to arrive, my friend canceled his appetizer. I ordered c Đút Lò, or something like that, and to my surprise, it was cold and the bún wasn’t even hot. We ordered another appetizer and the stuff looked hot and nice, but when we ate it, there wasn’t any taste, except the clam and the onion. I could have done a better job at home with nc mm! When we were inside, the place had a lot of people but wasn’t crowded so I don’t know why service took so long and the food wasn’t good. The menu was pricey to say the least. Worst of all, however, is the extra fee you have to pay if you want to use your credit card to pay for the food. The customers shouldn’t be expected to pay the service fees for the merchant. They need to rethink their business strategy.

This is the third restaurant to have this location after it started as Thanh Mai Restaurant years ago. Good to find that it’s yet another installment of new trend in food type for this community — shell fish and hot pot. The new owners have added a seaside and boat them and an outdoor seating area like street food eating. The food that we tried was to par and probably will return for the low table seating outside. Might be a good pre or post show eatery. Lac Cam is next door.

I definitely recommend this restaurant to those who loves any type of shellfishes. What makes this place special is that they have their signature green sauce to dip with anything, I love the spiciness and unique taste from it. But if you don’t like it they have wasabi, fish sauce, salt, pepper & lime. I’ve never tried raw clams. But their live clams were amazingly good, fresh, and clean(no sand). I also recommend Squid Papaya Salad and Squid Mot Nang, they’re soooooo delicious. I heard they’re getting their beer license soon and I bet the squid mot nang dish will pair with beer perfectly! Few comments from Unilocal about cup of water being charged $ 1 each. I didn’t get charged Im not too sure if they charged them mistakenly or not but I’m very pleased with prices and customer services. Will definitely recommend friends and family here.

You know you’re Vietnamese when you actually enjoy giant snails. The décor was adorable, it looked like you were in a little boat with the nautical decorations and round porthole windows. We ordered four dishes, I have no idea how to type out their names but all of them were pretty good except the lau was a bit spicy and there weren’t many snails in there. The mussels were good, the mo hanh was a nice touch to it because without it, it would have been pretty plain. Surprisingly, the giant monster sized oc wasn’t impossible to chew and was pretty soft which was great because I hate when it feels like you’re chewing on rubber. The squid was tender and good, but it was at room temperature so it was meh. I love that they have an array of about 4 dipping sauces(green one is my fave)! Only downside are the prices. $ 3 for nuoc mia, and $ 9 for each dish.

Was very excited to try this place after seeing friends posts on face book. We can came by on Jan 4th2015. They are located at the old phở 86 on Moran st.(Adjacent from Gala cofffee). At first glance this place looks pretty cool. They have pinic styles benches outside next to where they openly grill the squid(yum!). In hindsight I should have tried the squid. We got seated immediately and ordered: oc len xao dua(snail in coconut milk), oc huong song wasabi(live snails w/wasabi) and Chem chep rang me(Tamarindo flavored mussels) The Oc len xao dua came out with more than a few undercooked snails. The Oc Huong Song(5 pieces) was over cooked(live snails my buttocks) and mussels were good but only got 6 pieces. Everything was $ 8.99 per dish. Kinda pricey for the amount of food you get. They didnt have clams(Ngheu) which is a main part of the menu. Hopefully they work out the kinks! Wasnt too hapoy about being charged $ 1 for water. Might come back for the squid and the clams… maybe

I’ve been giving a lot of bad reviews lately. No I am not on my period. Maybe some people just need to rethink their business practices. Ordered what we thought was raw OC Huong with wasabi. It comes out like 5 – 6 pieces cooked«in wasabi» with a soy sauce dipping sauce(no wasabi, had to ask for it). For 9 bucks? No thanks. No clams so we got the mussels ram me. Sauce wasn’t bad. OC Len Sao dua was not bad but I think some we’re uncooked. I was going to give this place 3 stars(it’s more of a 2.5) and was willing to try it again… But they charged me $ 1 for water. No, not evian, or arrowhead or Aquafina or Fiji. Tap water served in a small silver cup. Cheap much? Being stingy over $ 1 for water is not going to make your business look good. If they made all the dishes like $ 5 – 6 i would see the value in it. It has the Quan nhau vibe, with loud non-classy people screaming mid day drinking in front of their children at 2pm. I mean, $ 1 for tap water sends me the message that I should just have a beer. Also, their sign says shellfish world, their menu says snailworld(which is what I saw online and made me come), and half their menu isn’t avail.

We came here on an adventurous whim — completely unprepared. If you’re hungry you may want to order rice or try a different venue. We came looking for hot soup and seafood, we got both. As a family of four we ordered: #82(hot pot $ 18) hot pot soup and came with a seafood/vegetable/beef plate. #53 shrimp with beer #1 clam with lemon grass Service: 9.5÷10 Mainly viet servers, but they tried really hard to explain and accommodate us. If a staff member couldn’t explain, they found eventually found somebody who could. The Effort and friendliness was appreciated. Food 9⁄10 Probably a 9 if we knew what we were doing and what to order. The broth was excellent. Ambiance 9⁄10 Slightly noisy, not exactly first date conversation material. Good enough for families :) Price 9⁄10 Paid about $ 50 for 4 people. Granted we weren’t starving, just looking for seafood and soup. Verdict: I’d come here again for the hot soup during the cold weather. It’s a good change up from phở and kbbq every day! 5 stars — Definite potential here. As a new restaurant I hope they continue to improve.

Awesome décor, awesome food. The only problem is waiting time for our food was little too long. Understandable as it is their grand opening day so it was a little crazy. Service was nice, the owner gave us 10% discount.
