I got the Mi with wontons and bo vien. The wontons was pretty good, but I wish they gave me more! I probably only got 6 wontons. Bo vien is average. They taste like the ones you can just get at the supermarket and it was a little too hard. They gave me a lot of noodles! I wish they could’ve given me half the amount of noodles and more wontons. The thing I love most is the crispy, buttery Vietnamese bread that they give you to eat with the soup. I forgot what it’s called, but it is soooo good ! They make it differently here. Usually it’s softer and soggy at other places.

Item #10, Mi Hoang Thanh plain for $ 5.55 plus tax is still an excellent price for the quantity and quality of the food you get. I would have gave them 5 stars but it’s «Cash Only» and parking is scary.

I cannot hate on Mi La Cay, we have been coming here since I was a kid in the late 80’s. It was our weekend spot. After piano classes a few doors down, we would get noodles, after going to temple we would stop by here to get noodles, etc. Even when I moved out of state I would make it a point to come here. Now that my whole family lives in Seattle, we still make it a point to come to Mi La Cay when we are in town visiting. The food and prices are still the same, I usually get the mi kho dac biet or the mi kho tom chien. Something about their breaded fried shrimp that I love. Their broth is still salty and kicking w/MSG, but somehow it tastes good. Also can’t go wrong with their dried noodles(mi kho) with squirts of hot mustard. As a kid I didn’t care for it much, but as I grew up and my palate developed, I love it with now. Love the chewy noodle texture, tasty food, it may not be the prettiest of places, but the food speaks for itself. The owner has been here forever and she’s one of the nicest people as well. The parking lot is nightmare on weekends.

The OG egg noodle place in little saigon since 1987. This place has authentic egg noodle soup that is located in one of the older super market plazas. Parking here is an absolute mess so driver beware. The shops around this place are super old and there’s plenty of people walking all over this plaza during the weekends. Service here is hit or miss because of the old school owners and servers. Don’t expect great service all the time but the actual food is pretty consistent. I usually get the house special which consists of popcorn shrimp, chicken and pork. The egg noodles are solid in texture and consistency. They are authentic and have a good egg flavor in them. The broth can be a bit salty but not really oily and has comforting warmth like phở broth. The shrimp is sorta whatever as there are tiny pieces of actual shrimp included. The chicken has the good fried chicken flavor and pork. yeah. good too. The prices are also OG. I ordered a regular bowl of house special noodles with broth inside and it was $ 5.50. That’s like 1990 prices haha. Overall, good stuff but hit or miss parking and service. 4 stars based on value and consistent food but don’t expect too much for the price.

For price this place is awesome. I had the mi la cay kho and it was really satisfying. The noodles were very chewy which is a really good thing. The bowl may be small the the food will fill you up. Would go here again next time I visit SoCal!

This is my favorite Mi La Cay place. I’ve been going here for years. After many years, this place still excites my tongue. Finally, I had their ech, yep, frog legs. and com chay. So Yummy 4 my tummy! The owner was real nice. I met the owners’ sister. She gave me a Chinese cd music they were playing. I am not Chinese, but their cd played such beautiful sounds, I requested to buy it from them… but she gave it as souvenir gift… Great food and free gift! Lol. My kids still requested their specials. I always order to go for my kids.

We have been eating at different Mi La Cay restaurants for over 30 years, including this location since it opened in 1987. The food is really good and it is authentic, unlike many of the newer establishments in the Little Saigon District. We usually order hu tieu, mi kho, and the fried rice. Some of the younger reviewers on here complaining about how the mi kho«dry noodles» are greasy or that the the place isn’t nice have no idea what authentic food is. They should stick to trendier crayfish places or Lee’s Sandwiches. That is like comparing a taqueria to Chipotle lol.

75cent for a cup of tap water? This place is ghetto… Water should be free… If you get dry noodles it will be greasey…

The best place for egg noodles. Very tasty and very affordable. However, I must say that they place is old fashion, in that they use a shtload of MSG. How much more Vietnamese can you get than MSG?

I used to eat here all the time with my family on Sunday’s when my mom went to go grocery shopping at the ABC market. We always order the Mi Ga Quay kho with a side order of Banh Dau Chao Quay. The Mi Ga Quay kho never has too much or too little sauce, and is always a perfect amount. The cook is well seasoned and crispy. The Dau Chao Quay is deliciously crispy and goes perfectly with the the bowl of soup that comes with the order of noodles. The place has good service and has lots of seating, the food comes out pretty quick and is never too crowded.

This location of Mi La Cay was pretty nasty! I got the house half egg noodle half rice noodle soup. The quality of ingredients was lacking big time. The meats were old tasting and they put way too much old tasting popcorn shrimp… Who wants fried shit floating in their soup anyhow? The rice noodles were just some watery lumped up mass that didn’t even look appetizing. I’d avoid this location altogether.

Not up to par with the Mi La Cay«China Chef» on Brookhurst and Westminster. But it’ll do since my original place closes on wednesdays. I order my usual Hu Tieu Ga Quay(rice noodle with deep fried chicken) Pretty basic dish. Doesnt taste the same as my usual spot, but will temporary fill the void.

Had their duck combo noodles. It was very salty and oily for me. This is a soup place and so most of the soups would be using the same base broth. The difference is in what meats or condiments you want in it. So it would all be too salty for me. Service = Little Saigon rude English = some broken English here or there, but mostly forget about it Ambience = slow, quiet, and on the dirty, filthy side Prices = cheap I didn’t even want to rate this place because I didn’t enjoy their salty food. However, I left my expensive prescription glasses there. We were the only customers. Couple of days later I called about them. They gave me the run around… they had it but no longer see it. waiter had it… call back… you picked up already. .call again. we don’t have it. what glasses… we don’t know… we saw it… not sure… this went on for a week. If you have to eat there, don’t trust that they won’t swipe your stuff, especially expensive stuff. I would’ve given them 1 star base on my reviews alone, but I would downgrade that to a negative given my stolen glasses and the run around for it.

Used to always eat here growing up when my parents had to go grocery shopping at ABC. Now I’m only here occasionally since the plaza gets ridiculously crowded with terrible drivers. Food: I always get the Mi Ga Quay kho, always will unless for some reason they remove it from their menu. It’s essentially noodles with a fried chicken quarter with the broth on the side. If I’m really hungry then I’ll also get the Chinese donuts to dip as well. It’s always good, pretty hard to go wrong with fried anything. Haven’t really tried anything else on the menu. I do remember getting the wonton noodles once but don’t remember it fondly. Service: The usual Viet Restaurant service where they forget about you once you’ve gotten your food; if you need them again its always a mission to get their attention. You pretty much seat yourself once you enter unless you have a big party. Menus are located underneath the glass on the table which I find extremely conveniently. Location: Inside the huge ABC Supermarket plaza with plenty of other stores and restaurants. There are a lot of parking spaces but it also gets really crowded so you can end up parking really far. Also beware of all the bad drivers and clueless pedestrians around.

The egg noodles and broth are so authentic Chinese/Vietnamese :”) Additional sides are a bit pricey for what’s given, but I normally eat the side less noodles which are insanely cheap, then I get the wonton appetizer. :)

I only come here for their duckling soup. The broth itself is just so comforting, even on a scorching hot day. The duck itself is okay… a little dry. I love how at the bottom on their soup there are these bits of fried onion, fried scallion… something fried, and its so delicious. I usually don’t order drinks here, but on my last visit, I ordered their Ca Phe Sua Da(Vietnamese Iced Coffee with milk) and it was not that delicious. Should of just gone to Lee’s for that. Overall, whenever I’m in town, my brother and I always try to eat here at least once. My trip isn’t complete without a big bowl of duckling soup!
