Lee’s Sandwiches

Baguettes are awesome! But the lady making sandwiches was so slow. Geez. #1 tasted awful. #11 was better but after 2 bites i was done. Oh well.

Great service great employees only problem was my baguette bread was stale and peperchini wasn’t juicy

They keep screwing up my order over and over and over again. Apparently something is confusing about «NO NOODLES» because it never fails that I keep getting spring rolls with noodles.
I’m done. I keep giving them chances and no more. I’ve had it.

I actually like eating at Lee’s. When they opened one next to Fullerton College back in the day when I was attending, it was a great way to get a cheap meal and they had so many options to choose from.
Fast forward many, many years later and I still enjoy the brand. Unfortunately, this store is pretty terrible. I’ve been coming here for about three years off and on, only when time is tight and I want to grab a bite before one of our movie nights next door at Regency. Believe me, I weigh out all of my options before settling on this location.
For one, they are cash only. That’s not the problem, it’s that they make up an excuse on why the credit card machine is broken that day, or put up a sign that says, «Today is Cash Only.» Don’t add a smiley face to your sign — everyday is cash only. Just embrace it. The only reason why I think they do this is because all of the other stores in the chain accept credits cards, but they just refuse to get with the times.
They’re always out of juice. They claim they have fresh squeezed orange juice, carrot juice and lemonade, but they’ve never had it in three years when I’ve asked for it. They’re response is, «not today.» Just take it off the menu… it’s not on there ANY day.
Third gripe. The food comes out pretty slow. On this last visit I ordered a chicken banh mi and there was hardly any meat on it. My friend actually asked if I ordered a veggie sandwich because there wasn’t anything on it.
There is plenty of parking, and plenty of seating because the place never gets full. In an area where there are banh mi sandwiches galore, this is just isn’t even an option for me anymore.

After visiting this location on numerous occasions, it saddens me to have to give it such a poor rating. They have messed up my order more times than they have gotten it correct. Keep in mind I do not order anything that is NOT already on the menu.
One time I ordered spring rolls with pork and since they did not have any already made, they said they were out. The simply did not want to take the time to make any. It was only 7:00 pm. I have never had such bad service at ANY other Lees. This one is the worst. It is worth it to drive further down the street or go to the one in the mall!

Stop by to buy my coffee everyday. Lees coffee is very sweet now compare to what it was before.
The services are great. Love their way of caring and fast services.

$ 10.00 to use master card… you’re fricken kidding me

Havent been to Lee’s in awhile, I was surprised to see that the prices have increased significantly over the years, last time I bought a bbq pork sandwich it was $ 2.50, now its $ 4. Also baguettes were a $ 1 and now its $ 1.50. Cost of inflation I guess. Got my usual bbq pork sandwich, thought it was really good since they had just baked fresh bread so the baguette was still warm and the bread was super soft. Typically they use the older bread so it can be a little hard at times. Service was good, sandwich was made quickly and the cashier was nice and friendly. The place is clean and its located right next to the movie theater.

OVERPRICED!!! $ 10 minimum on purchases if you want to use a credit card!!! I haven’t been to Lee’s in year & today I decided to go to the one by my house. Should have gone across the street to THH, which is better & lower price. Btw, the bread is stale & hard as a rock. Ughhh waste of money

I’ve always enjoyed a banh mi thit nuong (grilled pork sandwich) from Lee’s and I still do!
So with that said, as my cravings started to spin on the wheel of foods to eat, it landed on the grilled pork sandwich so I made the trip to the closest Lee’s sandwich shop. It’s located right next to L&L in the plaza aka to the right of the movie theater. I walked in and it wasn’t busy at all. There’s a refrigerator stocked with all kinds of drinks and pastries right next to it as well as on the counter where you order. They have a ton of sandwich and croissant options but I knew exactly what I wanted so I said peace out to the menu and hello to the cashier.
I had planned on just grabbing a sandwich, which I did, so when it came time to pay I busted out my Disney debit card. Sadly, I was told that there’s a $ 10 minimum to pay with your card. Really though? Ya girl just wants a sandwich that’s $ 3.50-$ 4.00. I guess shame on me for only having my card available but shame on them for requiring that minimum fee. With much dismay and a rumbling tummy, I looked around to see what else I could get. I settled with the custard filled corn cakes (I don’t even know, they look like goldfishes). That STILL didn’t meet the minimum so I grabbed the larger sized corn cakes but that came with no price tag so the cashier didn’t know what to do. It took a while for them to settle things with the supposed manager, I’m guessing, who was there.
Once I made my order, some more people trickled in. It didn’t take too long for them to make my sandwich and I was overall really satisfied. The corn cakes were a bit dry though, meh.
I’ve learned my lesson and I’ll make sure I bring cash the next time I decide to come here.

I came here on a Tuesday at 7:00 A.M. and that was the exact same time they opened! I was hesitant to walk in because it looked as if the employees just got there too and nothing was available yet. I walked in and the tables were scattered everywhere (as if they moved it around last time to mop and didn’t have time to put them back to where they belonged yet). The refrigerator was closed off from last night still and there was nothing in the pre-​cooked selection. I came there because I wanted to get a coffee, pâté so, and a banh bao — but sadly enough, it wasn’t available yet! I ended up getting a banh mi. It was good and the quality of the sandwich was the exact same as any other Lee’s Sandwiches, but I was very disappointed because I felt that they should have been more prepared.
TIP: The minimum purchase amount for credit card is $ 10.00

After going here numerous times…
I have to say I am disappointed in the consistently stale breads that they make with their sandwiches. When I am craving Lee’s, this place never does it for me anymore. Their sandwiches seem to be smaller than other places and the waits are usually longer. They have messed up on my orders a few times. Sometimes forgetting an item, getting the item wrong, or giving me extra food. The people are the register are also not really good with people. It must be a language barrier or something. I don’t really mind it but I’ve seen the looks on customers faces once they have been rung up or ask a question.
However, its the few Lees that take card.

Before picking up my order from Kickin Crab, I decide to pick up a baguette from Lees because I enjoy dipping bread in to the addictive Kickin Crab sauce.
I was annoyed that when I ordered a fresh baked baguette that I cost $ 1.50~ Other Lee Sandwich locations are $ 1 or $ 1.25.
I just had to vent. I know its just a quarter but still feel slightly ripped.

Get banh mi at a place by my house so when i go to lees is for their vietnamese coffee or panda waffles or the corn cakes with custard. Only Some Lees offer it so u have to do a little research. Usually the lees that have their own store front will.
For those who do come here for the banh mi i will say they are pretty decent the only problem is that the bread can be hard and cut the roof of your mouth. But overall the meat and veggies are good. I prefer the bbq and combination.

I’m not one to frequent Lee’s Sandwiches because there are so many other worthy places nearby where you can get a decent Vietnamese banh mi. I just happened to be in the plaza and wanted to get a baguette for the bo kho (beef stew) my mother made me and a drink. I opted for the bottled soy bean juice and the baguette to go. Their baguettes are best on the day it was purchased since they make them every 30 minutes. Mine was lukewarm but still fresh. You can keep it in the refrigerator to reheat later.
Service was ok. There wasn’t anyone at the register to greet me as I walked in because everyone seemed to be in the back filling orders. There were quite a few customers at tables so despite being quiet, they were busy. I’m not sure if they offer wifi but I saw one guy at a table with his laptop open. Seems like a good place to get some work done.

S0 this morning I’m at my desk in my cave-​acal minding my own business, drooling over pics on Unilocal and STARVING LIKE A HOSTAGE, because I haven’t had my breakfast yet and this WONDERFUL lady I work with comes and brings everyone in IT a sandwich!
Lee’s Sandwiches is a Vietnamese sandwich shop that sells regular sandwiches, Asian style sandwiches and Euro type sandwiches. They also so smoothies, coffee, and drinks to satisfy every palate. I’ve seen them all over the O.C. but never went to one. She brought in chicken and some kind of beef sandwiches.
I of course said THANK YOU and where did it come from so I could Unilocal about it! hahahaha! Shameful plug! I ripped it open and before I knew it, I had scarfed it down like a greedy heifer and almost took off two of my fingers in the process! I guess I was hungry!
It was DELICIOUS! The bread was a roll of some sort and it was nice and soft. It was some kind of beef sandwich that had carrots, cilantro and onions in it and some kind of cheese or spread I’m not really sure! What I am sure about was it WAS so YUMMY and hit the spot! The spot being the bulls-​eye in my tummy with the «will work for food sign»!
There were some jalapeño sliced peppers that she brought in as well for anyone that wanted them on their sandwich but I didn’t want to leap screaming from my chair in pain with my mouth on fire, because I wanted to add some spice on a sandwich!

Awweeee the memories from the wonderful Private (co-​ed) Catholic school my parents sent me too. Where we learned more than our A, B, C’s, 1, 2, 3’s can you pass the chronic and beer please… hahahahahahah! Just kidding but I did learn that little chant in school and every other dirty joke I know! What a well rounded education I received! Lololololololololololol!
Anyway I got little off the subject. I would have NEVA though to have a lunch type sandwich for breakfast but I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM eating another one!
I WILL FOR SURE be going back to visit this location again. I have learned from EXPERIENCE all franchises are not equal.

It’s a hit or miss with all Lee’s locations. If the baguette was recently made then your sandwich will be delicious and warm but usually the baguettes are cold and hard and scrape the insides of my mouth like a motherf*cker. I don’t know why I keep finding myself craving Lee’s banh mi even though I know the consequences. :p Other than the hard bread, I actually really like the banh mi. I feel like it’s plain and simple, in a good way. It’s not overly doused in fancy sauces or anything. I usually get the thit nuong or dac biet.
Since this location is fairly new the workers kinda suck… They’re rude and slow. They also don’t have soysauce packets here, they give it in small containers that leak everywhere; I hate it! But hey at least there’s free wifi while you’re waiting.
PS Don’t EVER get the avocado smoothie here. I don’t know if it sucks at all Lee’s location or just this one but I got it once here and it tasted horrible. No hint of real avocado taste at all.

Living in Garden Grove for almost 3 years and having Lee’s sandwiches in every corner, I finally tried it this morning.
We tried the #5 (Grilled Pork) — So Yummy! But why 2 stars? Well, we ordered Milk Tea Boba and it was watered down as EF! It was not sweet at all, BF asked to make it sweeter and it still tasted like i was drinking something diet. We were sitting down for a while waiting for our sandwich, we noticed that two ppl after us had gotten their sandwiches. BF and I tried to be patient and when it hit 30 minutes, we asked the guy where our sandwich was. He turned around and noticed it was not made, so he said he’ll make it right away.
BF and I were very disappointed, first the nasty Milk Tea Boba and then our sandwich was forgotten? So annoying! Maybe I’ll try the other million locations in Westminster for better service.

I’ve been going here off and on for a while for the #21 vegetarian sandwich. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s skimpy. The employees are quite young and sometimes seem very new.
On my last visit, I discovered they raised their prices! The sandwich that was under $ 3 is now $ 3.49 and the baguette that was $ 1 is now $ 1.50. I understand that prices go up with inflation, but a 50% increase on the bread?
Also, cash only.
It’s still an okay option when I don’t have a few extra minutes to drive to one of my favorite Little Saigon eateries.

I had a great time. I really enjoyed my combo sandwich. The bread was crusty, the jambon & pâté were sweet & the carrots/​daikon provided texture which, as a foodie, I appreciate very much. The iced coffee was super strong & super sweet. I know I’ll have lots of energy for the gym later.
