Like my clients, I am a small business owner working with a limited budget. When I first began my business, I realized that many small start up businesses faced the same challenges I did. I found many services priced beyond what I could afford. How do you promote your business professionally with a small budget?
That’s when I discovered my niche. I service mainly small businesses just like mine. Everyone deserves a professional image, and that’s what I try to do for my clients — help them develop a professional image because you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Before I began I.M.A. Marketing Co. & I.M.A. Web Design, I worked for an international minerals sales company, and I wore many hats and learned a lot about business and industry. I worked my way up from data entry to sales support. Eventually, the company gave me the opportunity they knew I wanted. I became assistant marketing manager and with it came the responsibility of designing and maintaining their Web site. I loved it, and I loved preparing and handling all their marketing materials for sales, advertising, and trade shows.
When I decided to leave and begin my own business in 1999, my employer became my first client. It was a valuable and wonderful opportunity, and I still feel honored that they valued me enough to contract my services.
What I learned though was that although I had one mid-sized client, my niche was really the small business that didn’t have a marketing department or IT staff. Small businesses need affordable services that they can depend on. I fill that need.
