History

Established in 1985.

Mary Lou Herd opened up her nursery in 1985 at the site of a former chinchilla farm. She became an immediate hit as the nursery became widely known as a place to get unusual perennials. After being diagnosed wi th colon cancer she closed the nursery in 2002. There is a Memorial Garden Tour held in her honor every year in the first week of May. After her death, two sisters reopened the nursery as Cottage Nursery. They were open for a couple of years and then closed for a couple of years before Regina Poudel, a long time customer of both Mary Lou and the two sisters found out they were closed and decided to reopen it as Heavenly Vintage Nursery in 2012.

Business Owner

A loyal customer to both Mary Lou Herds and the sisters who had run it after her, Gina was heart broken after seeing the nursery had closed down for about two years. Despite her being a full time teacher for the LAUSD she still manages to keep this nursery with such a profound history alive. She is always available on the weekends and would love to answer any questions and help you with your gardening needs
