Grampa’s Boxing Gym

It’s been over a year & training at this gym is one of the best decisions I’ve made. Walking into a gym that makes you feel so welcoming is always such a great feeling. Seeing Gramma & Grampa who are so sweet to anyone walking in makes me feel at home.
Through out this year, I’ve been working out with both Jessica & David who have so much patience for me & always push me to go harder at the gym to accomplish my goals. Beginning with boxing to even just the basics. It’s a great day going to the gym, working with two individuals who are so dedicated to what they do & making sure I feel at 100% during every move that I make.

Love Grandpas Gym. Very family oriented vibe and everyone one is friendly. They want you to succeed here and get better.

Been in search of a boxing gym where I can perform at my greatest. Ive been testing boxing gym’s all around orange county till I found Grampa’s boxing gym. Overall this gym is very comprehensive and caters well to the individuals. If you just want an outlet for stress or to exercise 7 days a week, thats great. If you want to compete that is also supported. There is no pressure to do anything you don’t want to. You are allowed to work at your own pace, and that level of autonomy with positive encouragement and instruction is rare to find. The instructors and coaches for a helpful. Every time I go in I can always count on Jessica, Jesse, and David mixing it up with different workouts that will help me improve in my skills. Overall GRAMPA’S boxing gym is awesome establishment with great coaches, equipment, and support.

Learned to box and fight amateur at GBG. Although it’s a boxing gym I learned discipline and dedication between these four walls. Now those attributes play a key role in my life and I’m grateful for the open arms I’m always received with when I enter this gym. Grampa and Gramma always have my respect.

Grampas boxing gym is a family oriented business, they have dedicated staff team. They devote their time and dedication to ensuring that everyone is well taking care of. They work hands on to help members of all ages achieve their goals. They play a part in the community and we are thankful for their contribution. They helped me get in shape, and a great stress reliever when it came to punching a bag around.
I love that they have events to help our youth. It’s so important nowadays because children can so easily stray. However Grampas Gym is the place to influence and change lives. Places like this are hard to come by. Huge thank you to Grampa, Grandma, and Jessica for helping everyone who comes into their lives. Keep doing what your doing!

I became a member of this gym starting January 2015 when a world class professional boxer asked me if I could coach him & I accepted. I started coaching in 1994 with one of my guys making the 2000 Olympic Team for his country & my other boxer went to Italy & won against Italy, France & Hungary because of these two boxers I made valuable contacts in the professional ranks that the professional that I now coach is just a matter of time before he’s on HBO. For about eight months everything seemed fine until I started hearing that Grandpa was talking about me behind my back from another coach in the gym. The gossip & jealousy really got going when I started coaching a 17 year old four months ago & everyone could see how quickly this boxer has been progressing compared to his 2 & ½ years in the sport. Because of ALL the drama going on in the gym we had a meeting with minor boxer & his dad in the meeting & I told everyone in the meeting what I do with boxer & how I coach him HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF YOU GUYS EXCEPT HIS PARENTS. «This young athlete wants to compete at the national level which requires a different mind set & hard training which Grandpa’s DON’T understand. I explained everything to his parents when I started coaching him on what it takes to get to the top & if THEY have any questions NOT to hesitate to ask & they thanked me for coaching him». At the end of this meeting I thought EVERYTHING was over so we could ALL move forward I even spoke to Grandpa one on one two days later to tell him IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR ANYTHING TALK TO ME. But not more than two weeks later a 19 year old new member asked me how much do I charge to coach people & I told him I do this for free. He asked me if I could coach him because he didn’t have the money to pay the other coaches & I told him I can help you until you can afford to pay someone. The following night he tells me I want you to coach me & I told him I really don’t want to because there’s so much jealousy in this gym that they’ll start with you next. He then tells me I don’t care I want you to coach me. So I agreed to coach him & THE FOLLOWING WEEK Grandpa calls him in the office BEFORE I got there to tell him LOOK FOR ANOTHER COACH BECAUSE HENRY ISN’T A GOOD COACH, «The funny thing about Grandpa telling him that is about two months after I started coaching there Grandpa told me that if Jessica boxes again he wants me to coach her». As I was walking in the 19 year old was coming out of the office & he came right up to me & told me you were right about Grandpa. The biggest thing I DIDN’T LIKE is when Grandpa & Jessica would always say «God Bless» with me knowing they’re talking about me behind my back. This past January I took 17 year old boxer to Reno to box in a national tournament & he boxed against 2013 USA champion that boxed in The World Championships in Russia & we lost a ²⁄₁ split decision which I thought we won. A 19 year old former member at Grandpa’s went on Instagram page of my boxer & wrote negative things about my boxer & myself & when I contacted his father that’s a trainer at Grandpa’s so I could talk to his son about what he posted the father got Jessica involved & I told Jessica this has NOTHING to do with you or the gym it’s between 19 year old & I but she wouldn’t listen. I was TRYING to teach 19 year old that if you have a problem with someone be a man & talk to that person don’t start things on the internet then run behind your daddy. I also coached his 15 year old brother that started boxing at age 7 for 4 months & one night the 19 year old tells me THAT’S THE BEST I’VE EVER SEEN HIM after seeing his brother spar but I stopped coaching him because the father doesn’t like to compete him much. I can only assume older brother is jealous because I no longer teach his brother. Jessica is suppose to be a mentor to these kids but she needs mentoring herself. For example after I posted my review Jessica had 5 friends post 5 star reviews on Grandpa’s within two days & Alex S states that they’re open Sunday’s which they’re not. Jessica herself posted a review on her own gym in 2012, I personally hate business owners that TRY to deceive the public. There are plenty of gyms without a SIX MONTH CONTRACT that I would suggest looking into. The boxers & I relocated to Garden Grove Boxing Gym where they just collect gym dues with no gossip or jealousy & no six month contract. Choosing a gym for your children is critical because coaches become their mentors & for that reason I SAVED ALL texting between Jessica & I when we were in Reno as well as everything that was posted on the internet from 19 year old just in case. EVERYTHING that I have written is true and correct as Jessica & Grandpa don’t have legal recourse against what I have written. Let me tell you something, if you want to learn to box, or you already know how, but want to better your skills, or you just want to get in shape, you’re in the right spot. I LOVE this gym. Everyone is super friendly, family oriented place. Every single boxer here is respectful whether they know you or not.
I’ve seen pro boxers come through the doors every once in a while, I’ve seen amateur matches. Great service from Grandma and Grampa, always looking out for everyone. You don’t need to go anywhere else, this is the #1 boxing gym in the county! ! Hands down!
