This is my favorite breakfast place to take my dad to. The service is great the staff is always super friendly. I always order the same thing. The charcuterie assorted plate with a sunny side egg and a café latte and it’s always daaaaaa bomb! Their French bread is really soft and fluffy on the inside and the right crunch on the onside. OH, and they are dog friendly on the patio!!!

Banh mi(dac biet) was decent. Bread was very fresh, but the meat was a little too fatty for my taste. Amount of spread was good, and vegetables were very fresh. Would come again, but not my favorite.

Not a good place for sandwiches. Small portion and also expensive. We were eating, and they asked us to move to a different table. It’s not the service that I expected.

Easily the best banh mi in the OC. This is my go to place whenever a friend wants to try good banh mi. It’s a bit pricier than other sandwich places but you pay more for the quality. They toast their sandwiches and use better ingredients that makes the sandwich stand out among the rest. I recommend the dac biet sandwich.

My friend who lives in the OC took me here for a French Vietnamese breakfast. We both ordered the assiette anglaise which is around $ 9 each and comes with a baguette, pâté, two sunny side eggs, ham, salami, grain mustard, and tiny pickles. We also ordered Viet iced coffee(typical Viets ha). The bread was warm and fresh, and everything tasted really good. It feels light, yet heavy when you realize you just ate a pretty huge baguette all to yourself with some liver paste and butter. Eating this food reminded me of eating this type of breakfast with my dad’s family when I was younger before they moved to Texas.

I only got to try the Bo Luc Lac(shaken beef) here so far. I’ve had better, but I would still like to try more dishes here. The restaurant is decorated cutely with lots of sunlight shining in, providing a very spacious and cozy atmosphere. They also play French music adding on to the ambience.

My friend suggested that we go to Coffee Factory for a breakfast. She had been here many times and it was my first time dining here. We found out that the original restaurant was temporarily closed for remodeling and they were currently operating out of Creamery Pop, which is in the same plaza. My first impression was that the decorations in the store are really cute. I ordered the Opla Filet mignon and my friend got the eggs with pâté and sausage. Our food came out in to-go trays with plastic utensils, which didn’t bother me much, but I admit, it was a little weird. Especially because prior to eating here, I looked at their Unilocal page to see what to order and everything was served on regular plates with silver utensils. When I tried my food, the Filet mignon tasted as though it had been microwaved. The texture was tough and the inside was cold. The onions were also cold. My friend told me she had ordered that before and that it didn’t taste like that. I really tried to enjoy my meal but my appetite was ruined. I told our server, an older woman, that my meal felt cold and she told me it had just been made and that there was no way it could be cold. Her body language suggested that she was upset about me inquiring about the food. She crossed her arms and tapped her foot impatiently while I was talking to her. That was the last straw. I couldn’t enjoy my meal and when I simply asked about it, I was not treated like a welcome guest. I hope that this was only a result of them not being able to serve from the original restaurant. However, I can say that her service should not have been affected by this. I am very disappointed with my first visit.

IMO, this place has the best vietnamese ice coffee in OC. It always taste like it’s freshly roasted & grounded, not burnt, pre-mixed like other places. Their food items are excellent also. This place is all about quality.

I’ve been here a few times with my mom to start our day with a great breakfast. This brings me back to my childhood eating the same type of food, before heading to school in Vietnam. Our regular orders would be a pâté plate and Opla(sunny side up eggs) and mom would get her usual beef stew. Let’s not forget their delicious, strong brewed coffee. I like mine strong and condensed milk on the side so I can control the sweetness. Although, Mom has to dilute her coffee with half a cup of hot water. I turn her leftover coffee into my iced coffee to go. Their beef stew is awesome. I also bought their sandwiches to go, a bit pricey but they were okay. Tried their steak filet and Opla with extra sides of a baguette and pâté. Great flavor and loved their sautéed onion with the mustard seeds. My mouth was doing the Nae Nae dance when I combined the sweet onion, beef, green lettuce, and a fresh sliced tomato. BIGYUMO!!! I wish the meat was a bit more fatty for tenderness. The meat flavor was pretty good. The servers here are great and polite and so is the owner and her sister, who do all the coffee roasting here. I also appreciate their having a clean restroom. Wish I live nearby so I could come more often for their breakfast. Will be back again and again.

Coffee factory is a very nice and modern coffee shop! It’s very well clean inside! I came here particularly for their banh bao! So my review is based off of that! Alongside the customer service! The staff in here were super friendly and helpful! We ended up order 30 banh bao’s(steam buns) and they were 2 $ each! This is a little pricey for the area! The steam buns usually run about 1 – 1.50 each. BUT I have to say they are pretty delicious! The dough is very light and fluffy to where you can eat a couple in one sitting. They also have a wide selection of teas and coffee which is really nice. they carry one of my favorites there… the republic of teas! one of the best ever! if you don’t care about pricing, i would highly recommend this place but other than that there are plenty of other places in the area.

This place was a recommendation from a friend. About once a week I get their pâté sandwich with a hot Vietnamese coffee. It’s like how my mom use to make it when I was younger. It’s pretty comparable. So if you’re looking for a good breakfast sandwich with a cup of coffee plus if you like pâté, you can either make it at home or get one here.

Opla Filet Mignon — opla means sunny side egg apparently! We didn’t know til we asked our server lol The meat was so tender and cooked just right, seasoning was on point! Would definitely come back for this. Also tried their Bun Thit Nuong which was not bad but not the best, I’ve had. Can’t wait to come back and try other items on their menu!

Opla steak and eggs is the best! Pair it with a Thai iced tea and you have an awesome lunch.

The steak and eggs were delicious! The french baguette was fresh. Service was great, we were first timers here and one of the managers(i assume) was real helpful and suggested some of their most popular dishes. Interior is clean and modern. Their menu is large — they’ve got sandwiches, soups, rice dishes and speciality entrees. I also had an iced chai which was very good. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Newly renovated since I last visited. Service is friendly. Food is okay in my opinion. I still like the Mi hai san(seafood noodle) at the Irvine location better. They are now serving Phở. so, let’s give it a try next time. For now. it’s still one of my breakfast places since they’re open at 7 in the morning:)

My gf heard this place was good we stopped in for breakfast. It’s not just coffee and tea– they have a decent sized food menu. We were seated with our menus. I ordered the assiete plate which is an assortment of eggs, ham, salami, pâté and tiny pickles. My gf got the croque monsieur. She said it’s supposed to be like eggs benedict with the hollandaise sauce but in a sandwich. So she wanted to try it at Coffee Factory. Oh and she also heard the pâté was good so she ordered some to go inside her sandwich. The waitress came and dropped off utensils and a soy sauce bottle as we waited. When I got my dish, the eggs were perfectly cooked, sunny side up, just the way I like it. Then I remembered– they didn’t even ask me how I wanted my eggs. Lol. Somehow they just knew :). NBD because I enjoyed the runny yolk! The pâté was indeed good! It seemed light– like kind of airy… I don’t know how to describe it– it’s not dense like I’ve had at other places, less greasy too it seems? My gf enjoyed her sandwich even though it wasn’t exactly like her expectations but she liked it and she liked the pâté and seedy mustard. To pay we went up to cashier. Up there you see a menu for their drinks. They have their own branded tea that they sell as well as other brands of tea and some tea paraphernalia. Would I come back? Sure, if I’m in the area.

Beverages come and go. The only beverage that has survived for centuries is coffee. How come? Coffee is a social product. It brings love, warmth, and harmony. Hot or cold, coffee is a complete culture. Coffee does not make a difference in nationality, skin color, society or age. The Coffee Factory introduces this culture and philosophy. This establishment is just a few minutes walk from our house. We ordered two large vietnamese coffee — and it tasted great. No wonder this coffee shop is legendary. VERYSTRONG coffee. The ambiance is cozy and they have a very attentive and friendly staff, although they speak little English. They also serve food for lunch or dinner very good and quality. The menu has a lot to choose from but you must try there steak and eggs side of rice with eggs easy on top; this is one of the best. This place has a cheap breakfast menu. They also serve cold cuts. Must try!!! According to various recipes across the board, it should be made with double the amount of coffee you’re used to – and it was very clear that my version would’ve been nearly undrinkable without the milk. I didn’t want to like its sweetness, but found it strangely addictive – dangerous, when you calculate the caffeine content. Within a minute, my companion’s iced coffee was gone, as the ice further dilutes the strength of the coffee. Our waiter said the coffee was his favorite drink to sit and linger with, both morning and evening. However, I saw it more as a dessert drink, especially if it was scalding hot. If the iced version was blended and topped with whipped cream, it could knock a Frappuccino out of the park. Friends tell me many Vietnamese restaurants in the United States use pre-ground coffee with chicory, but a good espresso blend or any beans that lack acidity should work. In my dreams we’d all make our own sweetened condensed milk, but restaurants that sell huge plates of food for $ 6 may not stray from the canned variety. And stay far, far away from the restaurants that premix the coffee for you. Most of the fun comes from stirring the milk at the bottom, lifting your spoon, and letting the thick globs drip off.
