Baugher’s Orchard & Farm

Huge place,
Excellent for kids they have great goodies they provide tour to the farm and you can have fresh veggies, dairy products, apples of course and sweet pastry (applied pies, pumpkin pies, and more)

WE always take our older parents for a home cooked meal. Never fails the meatloaf, chicken, etc. meet their preferences. Great staff. Fun shopping as well.

This place is a Westminster staple! Gives the younger generation a glimpse of ‘what was’. Good food and great service. Ask for Linda, she’s the best! Be sure to check out the market.

They run the best family restaurant in the area. I’m not a big fan of picking my own fruit because the prices actually seem higher than in the market. The city folk just want the experience. If you want to feel like you’re on the farm, then by all means go to the orchard and pick your own fruit. It’s a great spot. But if you’re hungry, just go to the restaurant. It’s the real deal.

Oh what fun Baugher’s Farm is in the fall season, yeah!
We came to pick pumpkins the first weekend in October and loved this place. It’s not overly commercialized and the pumpkins were real, on the vine and the fields had PLENTY to choose from/​ (even if we had come later on, I’m confident they would have had plenty for us as there were pumpkins for as far as the eye could see!)
Operations for various pickings of fruit were very well organized, the market was adorable with a good variety of products and the little (free) activities were cute and fun for my little ones to take part in.
Seriously no complaints. It was far for us (1hr ea way) but that’s not their fault ;). I plan on driving back next year, if that tells you anything!

Baugher’s seems to be a place more for a family fun even, rather than for quality produce. The goods are overpriced in my opinion. The market is kid friendly, with activities such as pony rides petting zoos to name a few. I heard that the farm served up good pies and bakery items, but was not impressed. Best thing about the market was that coincidentally, there was a counter selling girl scouts cookies.
Also not a fan of the fact that you have to pay for a ride to the pumpkin patch instead of walking there.

I have nothing but great things to say about Baugher’s!
My mom and I have made trips down here for the past two years during this season and it doesn’t disappoint!
Admission fee is $ 1 if I remember correctly, and $ 2 to take the hayride to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard. (*I would bring cash, as I’m not entirely sure if they accept credit cards there or not*)
The pumpkin patch is huge! Which is always a plus.
They also have a petting zoo (*With animals ranging from horses and pigs to lllamas!*), and some tasty treats you can have – Kettle corn, funnel cake, etc.
The only con in my opinion is how many visitors Baughers has gained. The first year we went it seemed pretty low key, and the year after it was completely packed and crowded everywhere. (*I think Baughers did say that they were surprised by the growth as well!*) not much can really be done about that, I definitely understand! I just wanted to give a fair warning to those who are thinking about going during the Fall Season, it might be crowded, but in my opinion worth it! :)
As for parking, you will either park near the apple orchards, or at the main area or Baughers (*Close to where you pay for admission.*)

My neighbors are the sweetest. They visited the farm with their kids and the little ones picked some apples for us. Too cute! These apples are so sweet and incredibly juicy. What a nice surprise, we are so grateful. I can’t comment on anything but the taste of these apples, and it’s a 4 stars in our book!

True Carroll County farm Market, w/​PYO option in season. We Call their Info Line (410)857−0111 for Daily updates on what’s available. Best to get there as early as possible, both in the day & in season. I only go during the week anymore when I can, most weekends there’s just too many folks for my comfort. (Glad they’re getting the business, tho!)
Their Ice cream is amazing, perfect on hot summer days. Even if I’m not up for PYO there’s plenty to choose from ready to buy in the barn. Their peaches are my favorite, but it’s all been good the 15 years we’ve been in the area.
Their pies are great to order for Thanksgiving, Apple & pumpkin are our favs. Better than I could make anymore, plus frees up oven space for more turkey! Their No sugar Added Apple Butter is the best I’ve ever found, & a much appreciated Hostess gift. If you crave apple cider like I do each Fall, theirs is tasty hot or cold. The kids have enjoyed the Farm stand, PYO & petting zoo for 15 years, & still do. Highly recommend!

Cannot give more than one star on principle: customers are not allowed to walk to the orchard but are instead forced to take a tractor at $ 1/​person including children over 1 year old.

On August 1, 2015 I went to the Market run by Baugher’s Farm. The place looked messy and neglected. Walking from the parking lot we were welcomed by tables full of dying, dry plants that nobody cared to water for several days, very painful to watch… really, do they think anybody will buy those?
Very disappointing quality of tomatoes, peaches and plums. Everything is harvested green, not ripe, the same practice as in a regular grocery store. I would expect after a farm market to offer fresh, ripe produce, that were picked the day they are being sold!!! Especially when the prices are much higher then in supermarkets, but you can’t find those at B-r’s. The worst were plums, many half rotten, liquid inside. Those that were not rotten, were very sour. Obviously, like the rest of their produce they must have been harvested green. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Even though we didn’t get to pick cherries this was a very good day to be at Baugher Farm:)

It was a beautiful day to enjoy the Fall activities at Baughers along with most of Carroll County, the whole place as packed! Everywhere you went, there was a line — a line to park, pick apples or pumpkins, eat, drink, do kid’s activities, and even to leave.
We first went to the pumpkin patch and found a variety of pumpkins, other squashes, and gourds. It was obvious that most items had been previously harvested and placed in the patch. There was a tub slide for the kids to enjoy while you wait to get on the hay ride back to the market. Hay ride to patch is $ 1.00 each and pumpkins are $ 0.49/pound.
Fall festivities back by the market included live bluegrass music (free); food vendors including pit beef, homemade ice cream, and other items (prices varied); moon bounce in the shape of a pumpkin ($ 1.00); pony rides ($ 5.00); and petting zoo (did not make it to this area.
Overall — it was a really fun time which ends up being less than the entry fee at other farms in MD.

Totally loved this farm! My folks had a blast with the apple picking. I did too. I love how they take you for a ride on their farm pick up thing to the designated orchard.
I’m only giving it a ⁴⁄₅ stars simply because of the lack of good directions and orientation to the kinds of produce, in my case was apples, available in the orchard.

A yearly tradition for our family during apple picking season! Our sons enjoy the hayride, picking apples, playground, and cider slush! My only complaint is the cost… It keeps going up every year. In 2014 a bag of apples cost us 30! (And they have gone back to charging for they hayride)

Love the orchard and the farmer’s market. Used to work at the bakery and can assure you, all of the items are homemade. They aren’t meant to last days and days. Most items have no type of preservatives in them and I’m almost sure all have a «use by» date. Just thought I’d address that since I see some people complaining about it,
The market always has the best deals on seasonal produce. I especially love going there in the fall to get some little pumpkins. Pick your own is great, but always call ahead. You can’t blame the orchard for their produce not growing fast enough, so save yourself some frustration.
And to all of you snotty people complaining about bees and other outdoor related issues: you are at a farm. In nature, insects are attracted to fruit. When the fruit is punctured and open, it usually starts to rot. If you are looking for something upscale that will cater to your snobby selves, go somewhere else.

This review is comparing Larriland and Baughers. I went to both after moving to Baltimore and give the edge to Baughers.
The Larriland farm is cute but the layout is quite spread out. They have a maze for kids, a pumpkin patch 1 mike away, and apple orchard. They have a small store with fruits and veggies (everything you can pick yourself) including apples, spinach, broccoli, peppers, and everything else in season. They also have a smattering of local goods including coffee, smoked nuts, cake mixes. Larriland also has an AMAZING APPLE FRITTER that is perfectly hot, crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside.
The Baughers orchard wins as everything is bigger but closer in proximity. It is also much more organized. The store has everything Larriland has plus DELICIOUS BAKED GOODS! Their pumpkin pie is fab. They also have hot apple cider donuts made fresh!
Be sure to call ahead before you go to see what’s in season that day!

SO MUCH FUN! I am so happy my bestie invited me to go with her! I would have never thought to look Baugher’s up… and would have continued getting raped at the market for produce. There was soooooo many fresh fruits and veggies grown right there on the farm. The prices are very reasonable, the staff friendly, and the options plenty.
The cucumbers are enormous! There were various types of plums and peaches, which we picked ourselves. After we purchased produce that we are unable to pick ourselves, we took the tractor ride up into the orchid where we picked white peaches, yellow peaches and red plums. I think I had more fun than my 3 year old god-​daughter who we actually went there for. The corn was fresh! The tomatoes ripe. Cherries, apples, cantaloupe, watermelon, strawberries, you name it.
They have homemade syrups, marmalade, honey, fudge, apple cider, I could go on! Oh and of course the ice cream! I don’t even eat ice cream often, but I couldn’t resist. The cone and ice cream was soooo divine, especially after walking through the orchid.
A day well spent. You can really lose track of time out there. This visit we only went to the market and orchid. Next time we hope to visit the petting zoo and also the restaurant. I think Baugher’s has a new customer, for life!

Wow. We choose this place to take (now) 2 year old Harley for her birthday. BEST PARENTS EVER! The kids had a blast. The industrial slide was the highlight. I even managed to go down (WITH THE NEWBORN STRAPPED TO ME!!) LOL.
This is definitely the place to go. Westminster is all of a 40 minute drive from the city. Worth every moment.
Now (July) the sour cherries are ripe for picking.
I will be definitely partaking in the peach picking in September!

How in the world do people like this place? There were bees all over the fruit, and lots of the fruit was rotting. The vegetables were in similar condition. Bees were all over the cider, which was not kept in a cold case, but in a barrel.
We caved and bought apples, which didn’t even taste right. This place is just odd. I don’t know what to say. The restaurant looked really crowded, but by the looks of the shop… I can’t see why.
