We specialize in Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu for kids and adults. We have won the Kids World Championships the last 3 years in a row. A-​Team Jiu-​Jitsu is a family friendly environment with top quality techniques and a great group of people. History

Established in 2008.

at A-​team Jiu Jitsu we strive to provide the best possible service and training environment possible. We have students from all walks of life, from police officers (law enforcement), firemen, and military personnel. We also train people for self defense, tournament competition, or professional fights. Some of the students come here to improve their overall health, strength, and fitness, or weight loss. And all of this takes place in a family friendly environment where the children of A-​team can also feel at home.

Marc has been a student of A-​Team Jiu Jitsu since 2010 and has invested 1000’s of hours in learning and developing his skills in Jiu Jitsu. Marc is a Technology Marketing Consultant and President of Pearsonic Inc. who has committed to assist the growth of our school.

Ali is the real deal and is 100% committed to his team and to winning. Jiu Jitsu is far more than just a business to him; this is made evident with his training, and personal involvement with each of his kids. He genuinely cares about the progression of his team-​members (inside and outside of his gym). I’ve known Ali for many years. He’s a true inspiration for many reasons. If martial art technique, discipline, and all around integrity are facets you’d like for little one, I’d highly recommend giving Ali & team a shot!

My son was invited to train at A-​Team after he stopped playing club soccer. We have been with A-​Team for about six months now and have found the instructors and the program to be superb. The families that train here are welcoming and supportive and the instructors do not tolerate poor behavior. Coach CJ, Coach Angelo, and Master Ali are all wonderful with the kids. They are patient and excellent at giving instruction — each move is explained and modeled step by step, re-​modeled by the kids, they check for understanding, and then have the kids practice until proficient. They ensure there is plenty of sparring and fun built into the training.
After having experienced years with club soccer, it was refreshing to see instruction based on proven learning techniques for children — something sorely lacking in SoCal soccer. And the instruction is not at the cost of competition, A-​Team is consistently at the top of the podium during tournaments.

A-​team is the best school for kids jiu jitsu. My 2 daughters have been taking classes here for over one year and the progression I see is tremendous. Master Aliband Coach CJ spend countless hours with the kids teaching them not only the art of jiu jitsu but also how to be respectful, hardworking and doing well in school. Highly recommended.

Coach CJ and Master Ali’s program is different from every other jiu jitsu school I have had my daughter train at.(3 schools). They teach respect, discipline and how to be a leader and the kids enjoy it. The school also has a pretty even ratio of female to males who train here which is nice because schools are usually male dominant. I like that because my daughter is making friends that she wants to hang out with because they have jiu jitsu and the other girly things in common.
The instructor of the class isn’t the only teacher. The kids are taught to be able to teach the move they learn to each other. They are also told to go easy on new comers and help them progress to being able to spar.
Its a nice family friendly environment and a team that’s dedicated to be the best.

I have been training/​learning BJJ for over 2 years now and was on vacation from Texas and was stopping by California for a couple days and decided to bring my gi with me hoping to fit in some training/​learning at a local BJJ school near Mid City.
After researching the surrounding schools, I decided to call A-​Team and asked if they would be willing to welcome me to their school. Master Ali was friendly and looked forward to me stopping by for class.
Upon arriving, Coach CJ showed me around the school. Definitely spacious mats, clean, and a very friendly learning atmosphere. That evening Coach CJ ran the class and I absolutely like the instruction of techniques. Everything taught that night was sequence based with variations for nogi. After that, it was time to roll to apply techniques!
Overall, I loved the friendly, fun, positive vibes of the gym as it created an atmosphere for anyone who enjoys martial arts, learning, and getting into or staying in shape.

A-​Team is a great place. I have been here since we opened and couldn’t picture myself anywhere else. The coaches are great, the team is awesome, and the environment is great for learning. Training here is the highlight of my day and the knowledge I’ve gained from Master Ali has made me a more confident person on and off the mat.

I have had friends who where training with the Gracie’s since the garage days. I also trained a few years at Royce’s first gym. I then started bringing my son. Eventually the drive was taking a toll and had to find a place closer and with earlier hours.
Then I found the A-​team. WOW! Master Ali’s program is amazing and you can’t deny the facts. One of the smallest schools winning more competitions. I wouldn’t have believed it without seeing it myself. The feeling of family and community the second you walk through the door. All of the parents, students, and staff are friendly. Another great thing about A-​team is Master Ali promotes education and reading. If your grades are low no training.

After a few lessons, I remembered my son told me «Papa, I don’t want to go to Jiu Jitsu class, I don’t like it». But, I don’t give up and keep taking him to the class. Then, after a couple of months. My son adapt and like his coach, his classmates and I can see changes in him. His first tournament, he got a medal and he was so happy and excited. Now, I don’t need to tell him time to go to the class anymore. He wants attend to all classes. Great jobs A-​team coaches.

This Jiu-​jitsu studio has a traditional style to it. I love it. It Almost feels like a small town church or something. The people their are cool and have at least one common thread … love for Jiu-​Jitsu! Its the best for great workouts and good Old fashion «Rolling.» The guys that train there, can be anything from surfers to sheriffs but all we want to do is come together and learn in this common journey of Jiu-​Jitsu. I feel lucky to have found a place like this to study Jiu –jitsu. I absolutely recommend it.. . to all ages!

I love the detailed explanation of the moves and the time and dedication the instructors put in, to teach these kids. I stopped shopping around for a good jiu jitsu school after my first trial class at A-​Team. Sold!
Why?
The school has an incredibly comfortable and supportive atmosphere, which the coaches go to great lengths to promote. If the school had a central theme, it would definitely be «family.» This is particularly evident in the dedication Ali Saleh, head coach, has to his kids, constantly striving to turn each and every one of them into a champ.
The mats are gorgeous, high quality, and clean. The gym does not have the notorious smell of body odor you would expect at other gyms. In my year here thus far, I have become convinced that Ali is a jiu jitsu genius. What he teaches works, and works extremely well. I guess that explains why he’s a second degree Checkmat black belt.
Seriously though, with a 30 day free trial, there’s nothing to lose. I’ve trained with various other coaches before, but nowhere have I enjoyed training as much as I have at A-​Team.
There’s also a resident chihuahua.

Both of my kids are currently enrolled in the school and they absolutely love it! My oldest has been in for over a year and a half and he loves coming in to train.
The instructors definitely know what they are doing and their tournament results show it. They are very involved in the class, the training and what they teach. They also have adult classes which are really fun! If you love jiu jitsu, this is definitely the place!

I’ve searched for about 3 months for the right school to practice jiu jitsu and as a martial arts instructor myself i knew what to look for in a good school. I not only wanted the best training in jiu jitsu out there, i also wanted a place i can go to to make friends and be welcomed as family.
When i walked into the facility, i found just that.
Hands down best instructors and best training partners. Not only does A-​Team have some of the best guys to roll with, they help you improve while you train! Did i mention they have one of the best kids programs?
I am very excited for my future training here. I can’t wait to kick butt at my first tournament with my A-​Team family, A-​TEAM STYLE!

As a young girl, I remember him practicing his moves and studying the Gracie brothers — he has dedicated his life to the art of Jiu-​Jitsu, and his passion can be seen through his teaching.
