Westshore Family Dental

Ok, from the moment I make dentist appointments — I’m nervous as all get out. Years and years of bad dental experience have left me skeptical.
That was so NOT the case at Westshore Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Marotta and his staff are amazing. From the moment I was introduced to everyone I knew this would be my dental office from here on out.
The walls are painted a warm shade of yellow, the exam rooms are decked out with wood floor and beautiful large windows (and windows with a view at that!). My particular window had a cute little bird feeder outside (see pictures) that was just a beautiful sight with the shrubbery and snow softly falling — this was not like any dental experience I’d had before. I didn’t feel trapped, no part of the office gave the «clinical» feel you get when you visit those sterile doctors or dentists offices with all the white paint and lineoleum floors — you won’t find any of that here.
I was pleased to find out that Dr. Marotta had a hand in a lot of selections, a little over 7 years ago he had the building designed and wanted to ensure patients felt the space was warm and inviting.
It is obvious that at WFCD the patient experience is of utmost concern. Per the website, WFCD specializes in sedation dentistry or relaxation dentistry, which is a «method of managing pain and anxiety during professional dental care through the use of medication.» How fabulous and refreshing, a practice that recognizes and actually cares about the fact that dental procedures are terribly anxiety inducing for some patients.
After my teeth cleaning with the hygentist, Heather, I had some x-​rays taken (typical of your first visit) and awaited Dr. Marotta to come give my teeth a quick look. Dr. Marotta was great, he was very approachable, great personality, not pushy, not scary, his demeanor was very kind, and he took time to answer all of my questions and related suggestions for future dental work in a very understandable and non-​pushy way. I really can’t stress how at ease the whole staff at WFCD made me feel. I would actually venture to say I ENJOYED my visit to the dentist!
I also love that they sell Phillips Sonicare toothbrushes and brush heads. That toothbrush is by far one of my best purchases ever. Highly recommended.
During my consultation I also inquiried about Invisalign — which is not presently offered at WFCD; however, I was offered a referral to a highly recommended orthodontist in the area.
My visit to WFCD was honestly great. I can’t wait for my next appointment.
