Making the Moment Photography

For a lot of people, photography is one of the top things on the priority list for weddings. This was definitely the case for my wedding, we really wanted an awesome photographer, and Making the Moment is really the best company I could find! Not only are their photographs ridiculously cool, but everyone who works there is really enthusiastic and easy to work with. This is the only company I could find that has no time limit to your wedding day (with no extra costs). They are here for the the whole day and capture everything from pre-​make up through party time! I live in Chicago, but my wedding was in Ohio, so I spent a LOT of time looking at photographers websites, checking out their galleries. Making the Moment was the first website that caught my eye, because they were really one of the site that had artsy images. While most other sites had my most hated thing, cheesy-​looking couples fake smiling as they stare into each other’s eyes, making the Moment had a lot more cool shots and candids that you can tell were real. I continued to look at other photographers and interviewed a few, but they just weren’t as good. The first time we met the owner, Brett, we talked about old school Nintendo, Christmas Ale, and his cat almost attacked us, so we knew we liked him! Luke was our photographer and is very good, but anyone who works there would also do an awesome job, because I know Brett wouldn’t hire anyone who is bad. He really helped put us at ease, because let’s keep it real, brides and grooms are nervous! (Especially this bride!) It isn’t always super fun to get your pictures taken, but Luke made it fun!
I’m not exaggerating when I say, that everyone who sees my wedding photos says they are the best they’ve ever seen.

I wish that I could give more than 5 stars to Making the Moment Photography (MTM). From start to finish, Brett and the rest of the team was by far the best team that I have EVER worked with. Each of them are so genuine and kind, you will want to work with them for many, many years to come.
We worked with Brett and the rest of the MTM team for our engagement photos, wedding photos, and storybook. The decision to work with them was easy, even after just our initial phone call with Brett. Initially, we weren’t sure about getting engagement photos, but are SO glad that we did. Not only did we get to «practice», but we had SO much fun and got to know Brett (and Sara!) which made our wedding day so much easier. Our photos came out incredible; we did not look like we were posing or awkward.
Prior to our wedding, we worked closely with Brett to set up our wedding timeline. He almost acted as a wedding planner, and our wedding day was seemingly effortless. Brett was able to keep us on track with our schedule, without seeming the least bit pushy or controlling. He also came as early/​stayed as late as we wanted them to. By the end of the night, we wanted Brett and Sara to put down their cameras and dance with us! Everyone always comments on how incredible our photos are and how they have never seen anything like them before. My husband and I felt SO comfortable, and it shows in our photos.
Lastly, MTM’s print studio is incomparable. Ordering is easy, using MTM’s online portal, and the prints are reasonably priced considering the quality of the prints. We also purchased a custom made StoryBook and I am SO glad that it did. Being able to relive the day in such a special and unique way was so precious to us. It will be something that we can share with our family and friends forever.
Overall, there are really no words to describe how thankful we are to have met everyone at MTM and can’t wait to work with them again!

Brett was our photographer and he was amazing! He made sure we were all set with everything we needed leading up to the day and day of! He did such an amazing job that day. He made it fun and not creepy or awkward at all, which I have been to other people’s weddings and some photographers give that vibe! I have nothing bad to say about the entire company, they are truly amazing! Renee was awesome at coordinating with getting our storybook and images, seeing that I live out of town. She was always keeping us in the loop of what was going on and I never had to run them down to see what was going on. The storybook that they put together with all the images stays true to its title, it truly was a story of that night and not all those staged images you typically see. We relived that night through every image. I am so pleased that we went with them!

The Making the Moment team was our favorite partner for our wedding. Brett and his team even traveled out to Chicago for our engagement session. They made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and were able to capture moments between my husband and me that other photographers would have missed. Their style of photography is not posed, the result is candid, genuine, unique images.
When it came to our wedding day, not only did they make the day more fun, they helped us plan, provided recommendations and even got us in touch with a great day-​of planner. Our images are so special to us because they captured the feeling from that day. Every time we look at them, we are brought back and reminded of how wonderful it was.
We also invested in the Storybook which is extraordinary. The cover is strikingly beautiful and the layout really does tell the story of our wedding day. Everyone who looks through the book is complimentary of its composition and content. Brett and his team clearly care about providing expert, top service and we highly recommend them.

Making the Moment was the second best choice I made on my wedding day. The first choice was undoubtedly my wife. However, this review is for MtM, not my lovely wife. Not only did Making the Moment capture our wedding in a remarkable way but their staff and photographer made our day fun and even more memorable.
When it comes to choosing a photographer for your wedding let’s face it, everyone and their brother has a camera and will shoot your wedding for less money. Being the last of 4 children in my family to get married, I have had my share of weddings. I have been in them, seen the family reactions when the photos arrive, and forever will be enshrined on my parents mantle. When it comes to choosing your wedding photographer, it is an important decision.
Two reasons why my wife and I choose Making the Moment. First, Making the Moment has some of the industry-​leading equipment and professionals. The way their business is set up allows for their photographers to focus on photography not taxes, marketing, equipment maintenance, payroll and sales. This creates a highly motivated photography team that gives your product the best service available. Look at their work, set up a meeting, their is a reason this company is a leap above the standard.
The second reason why we choose Making the Moment was their exceptional service. The very first time we walked in the door we were treated like friends and family. Our names were written on chalkboard and made to order coffee with big fancy mugs all while sitting on a nice comfy couch. This seems to be trivial and have nothing to do with choosing your wedding photographer, but all these little details give evidence the level of service this team gives you. Not just the service of amazing photographs but support every step of the way. My wife and I didn’t really know all the details that would coincide with planning our wedding and the photographer. We had a few meetings with our team at Making the Moment. Each meeting we came away more excited and prepared for our wedding day. Making the Moment actually gives you tools and a game plan for the entire wedding day. THIS IS THE BEST THING YOU CAN PURCHASE FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY. Yes, in my opinion, this was the best choice we made in our wedding day. Our team helped us create a wedding day timeline from getting ready to our last dance. This took so much stress out of our big day knowing we had time and backup plans for weather and other unforseen events. The benefit of having your photographer run the day with your plan is that it allows you to enjoy taking the pictures with your wedding party. How many weddings have you been in where taking group photos were long, boring, hot, unorganized, fake, and really the worst part of the wedding? This doesn’t happen with Making the Moment. Our photographer and his assistant had us laughing and hanging out with our friends and family. We had a blast and forgot we were even being photographed sometimes. This is the level of service you can expect from this company.
Hands down, Making the Moment is a top notch wedding photography company. The passion and love they have in their craft is evident in their work and how they treat you as a customer. Yes, they are not cheap but they are extremely worth it. Trust me, when you get back those photos of your wedding and have the ability to replay that awesome day over and over well, that is priceless.

I am heartbroken over my wedding photos. We told this photographer that our biggest priority in our wedding was the gathering of our family and friends. This priority was completely ignored in the face of creative shots that captured whatever «energy» was interesting to the photographer. I have six photos of salsa at the reception, and zero photos of my mother, the mother of the bride, at the entire reception. My siblings, who were also the officiants, are featured in exactly one photo each. My dad, the father of the bride, was only photographed while giving his toast. We have four photos of a couple we are not even related to. He took many photos of my dress, in each one you can see the bra sewn into it — therefore I have no good photos of my dress. Of the hours of photos he took of me and my husband together, I cannot find one that I think is good enough to even post on facebook, let alone print and frame in our home. Once again, I am heartbroken. We will never get another chance to take photos from that magical day, and have no nice photos to show our future children. I don’t even want to show them to my friends. Don’t make the mistake I did. Do not hire Making the Moment as your wedding photographer.

You should know that I don’t just hand out 5 star reviews. I really do save those for the BEST of the BEST, in my opinion anyways. I can’t believe no one has reviewed my fantabulous wedding photographer yet, so here you go.
We hired Making the Moment for our wedding on April 9, 2011. Our initial meeting was with Brett, the owner. He answered all our questions and was incredibly friendly & helpful. We looked through all the photographer’s portfolios and decided we liked Vince’s style the most.
Our wedding was slightly offbeat… we were married in a theater and had a movie theme, because we are big time movie nerds. Vince totally embraced this, even staying up late the night before the wedding to watch Pulp Fiction (which he knew was our favorite film and would be referenced many times that day). I have nothing but positive things to say about our day with him, our own private paparazzi! He was enthusiastic, artistic, and helpful. The ceremony music started way before I was ready and I had both my maid of honor and Vince lying on the floor, buckling my shoes for me. Now THAT is a selfless photographer!
We were like kids waiting for Christmas as we waited for our photo preview several weeks later. It was, of course, worth the wait. We had a «première night» with owner Brett at Making the Moment HQ (aka Brett’s house). He set out wine and fancy snacks for us as we viewed our photos. His excitement about our images matched our own, and we were all pretty giddy as we watched the slide show.
Overall, this is some of the best customer service I’ve ever received ANYWHERE. If I can give any brides and/​or grooms-​to-​be advice, it’s to splurge on your photos, and hire a photographer that shares your vision. If you’re in Northeast Ohio, hire Making the Moment. You will not regret it. I certainly don’t hope to get married again any time soon, but I do hope to get the chance to work with them again!
