My husband and I came in for a funeral and had reserved 4 nights with this hotel. It adds up to $ 540 I paid the tab walking in the door. I tried to break up my payment paying half on my card and the rest in cash. The 2 people working at the front desk didn’t know how to spit so they called their manger Todd. He said he couldn’t break it up and I had to pay all right then or I couldn’t check I so I did. My husband is 100% disabled and had been sick most of the trip. He cant smoke nor can he be around a lot of smoke. I got a call the next day claiming we were smoking in our room I told him that’s impossible. He said he came to my room at 6:30 at night with 4 people on his staff to take pictures of my room. I called corporate to find out you can’t clean people’s room after 2pm. I had friends in my rental they left smoke evidence around so I brought it to my room. The guy claiming to be a GM name is Todd and he said he didn’t believe me and he had no sympathy for our situation with my husband throwing up all night and I told him we don’t smoke. So the next day we got a call around 9 am saying again we were smoking. I told this lying guy Todd I knew he wasn’t the GM and we call the day before to report him to corporate. He told us right then he was calling the police. I asked is it because we’re black he terminated the call. 15 mins rolled by and 6 Cleveland police officers showed up at my hotel door. I had on my bra and my husband had just made it off the toilet. The police office told us he usually doesn’t make incident reports on this type of issue but it seemed not warrant, so he made one for us cause they looked around the room, and we weren’t smoking and no one smelled smoke, so the cops didn’t understand why they were their. I got their info and I will be filing a complaint civilly against him(Todd) and Hyatt Place. I will stop all payments for the room and get my money back for this stay. I will also be contacting the owner to make sure they know their manger aka Claims he’s the GM Todd doesn’t need to be working in hospitality. I will contact my attorney and send them a formal letter indicating what type of treatment I received from this hotel. Black People beware you will accused of various issues you also won’t be treated like everyone else. When you go get snacks, food, drinks downstairs they treat you like you aren’t staying there. I believe this is a all white neighborhood and people seeing you walk around isn’t typical. This day and age you would think white people like this don’t exist but they do and they are either working at this hotel or staying with theses people. I will post this everywhere this company is online. I don’t want anyone that isn’t white skin tone to go through this ever again. I hope that in the future no one else is treated this way because no one wants to go spend money and time and not be welcome at the hotel at all because of your color or race.

This place is great! The front desk staff are very friendly, fast and efficient for check ins and check outs. We had a room on the top(6th) floor and it was beautiful. Everything was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable as well. Great place and we will definately stay here again when visiting Crocker Park.
