We live in Sacramento now and we wish we could have brought him and the staff up here. In the decades my wife and I saw him the office was always responsive. Always called back if needed. Always got a prescription over the phone when appropriate. Dr Suchman is the standard I have now in looking for a Doctor. I value his sense of purpose and his skill in getting to the issue and helping you through it. I am of the thought that a family Dr is who you see when your sick so you can get better. He has helped me through colds, flu, vertigo, aches and pains and the experience at his office has always been wonderful. If your looking for a Dr and an office that can get you through whatever ails you as effortlessly as possible, this is the place.

I wish I could give no stars! Here’s my experience after just 3 visits… To start, when I call to make an appointment the receptionist(Dr’s wife) alerts me instantly after describing my discomfort that he is not a «disability doctor». Ummm, okay… I never brought up disability or even alluded to/thought about it, but good to know I guess(awkward first impression). Then I get to the office and the receptionist was quite nice, but now the doctors behavior picks up where the rudeness left off on the phone. I’m literally vomiting in his office and he was condescending, unsympathetic, and just plain didn’t care. I reluctantly went back a couple of times b/c I thought maybe I was just so sick, that it was all in my head b/c of how much pain I was in. Nope! I’ve now called on multiple occasions to schedule an appointment, stating that I’m in a great deal of pain, and need to see the doctor as soon as I can — NEVER A CALLBACK!!! You can’t get a human to answer the phone, so my only choice is to call or drive down and make it in person… which isn’t worth the 5 mile drive to be blown off. I wish I never saw this guy. I have stomach pain btw, not drug-seeking behavior nor do I have any desire to go on disability. Try helping people instead of jumping to harsh conclusions. Sheesh!!!

Dr. Steven Suchman is not just«practicing» family medicine… he is an expert in the«family» part of the business. My 94 yr old mom was recently hospitalized after a fall, breaking one ankle and the other foot! Dr. Suchman became a valued member of our family during this stressful period in her life & ours. He treated my mom with dignity even though she didn’t always understand or care about what was going on… He included my niece, an RN, in consultations… and he patiently took all mine and my siblings phone calls even though I’m sure ½ of our calls were not necessary… but he knew we needed answers and he provided them. He teamed up with us to find the appropriate after hospital care for our mom. His guidance was invaluable and his caring manner was/is so very much appreciated! His bedside manner was professional, yet he was happy to share a laugh with all of us. Never did we feel as if he was rushing off to his next patient… if we needed the time, he had time to share. I can’t say enough about his knowledge, expertise… but, mostly it was his sincere caring that made us all feel as if we weren’t dealing with just a doctor… but as I said, a professional, caring member of the family. This must be what it was like«back in the day» of the family physician. Thank you, Dr. Suchman for being that physician/guy for our family! If you’re looking for a doctor… maybe instead you should be looking for a true family physician like Dr. Suchman!

Made an appt. to see Dr. Suchman. I waited over an hour in the patient room before I left. I never saw him.
