Always amazing. This is my 2nd or 3rd time here. I’ve been a long-time fan of the owners’ previous gem, Leila’s. The food is art. Creative combinations, perfectly prepared, and masterfully presented. The staff is top-notch. Friendly, professional, efficient. They have a nice selection of craft beers on draught, in addition to their wine list. It can get pretty loud at times. I can recommend the — Lobster tempura, the short ribs, the Brussel sprouts, the Peruvian shrimp, the duck confit pancake, the crispy skin branzino, the salmon, the bread pudding(always great), and of course, the Wonder bar. And that was just tonight!(we share) We are lucky to have this truly great restaurant.

So I have several ups and downs about this restaurant. «ups» –The food is Amazing! –The Filet mignon I had was probably one of my favorites(and that says a lot because i do not generally like red meat) –they seated us at the bar since we got there before our reservation but the table was ready right at 8 when it was scheduled to!(Huge Plus I hate waiting) «Downs» –Extremely cramped and loud environment –THESTAFF –the manager drank multiple glasses of wine(while on the clock and running food) with the table next to us. I found it unprofessional. –our waitress was nice to us but very rude to another waitress serving the table next to us. The«cramped» environment did not help, if our waitress was talking to us no one else could pass through the small hall way behind her, causing strife between the two waitresses. The expo/busser(who was an amazingly hard worker) could not pass and our waitress did not bother to stand closer to the table so he could pass. It was not until my boyfriend made it clear he needed to get through that she moved over slightly so he could.(all while holding food that was getting cold) –You guys need better communication between your workers. –People need to listen when someone says behind to get through. –If there is a problem do not address it in front of your customers. No one likes someone with a bad attitude. I may try again in the future simply because the food was so good, hopefully they have a better team.

We arrived an hour early and the host kindly sat us ahead of schedule. We asked for food recommendations — which all turned out to be excellent. The staff is friendly and the service was very good. Would definitely go back.

Outstanding restaurant. Went in last night and the ambiance in nice, a little dim, with nice music playing in the background. We got the tuna tartar and lobster tempura to start off. It was so good. Husband and I got the kind salmon. It was beautifully plated and delicious. I would definitely come back again.

Okay so I haven’t been keeping up with writing reviews because frankly I have not found any restaurants in Thousand Oaks that have inspired me… Until Now. My wife and I decided to venture out for a nice intimate dinner in a new restaurant. We noticed Pearl District in Unilocal with some very high ratings. At first glance we were both intrigued. The restaurant is divided into 4 areas inside including the bar as well as an outside front patio. The front of the Inside the restaurant was well lit and comfortable. This area and the bar is ideal to meet friends and socializing. Tip 1: if you are here to socialize, I would ask to be seated in the front or middle or the restaurant. Tip 2: if you are looking for romance and a more intimate area ask to be seated in the more private area in the back of the restaurant. With many nice restaurants the food portions can tend to be a little small. My wife and I are not big eaters but have left restaurants hungry. Asking the waiter, he recommended two appetizers and two entrees would be sufficient for two. The menu had a very nice variety of if different flavor possibilities. We ordered the short ribs and the artichokes for our two appetizers. Well surprise! The appetizer portions were huge for people that usually split meals. It’s not uncommon during a night out for my wife and I to each order an appetizer, split an entrée and split a dessert. Tip 3, split an appetizer with your significant other, you can always have dessert. The short ribs served with polenta and mole sauce. It had the right balence of creamy, slightly savory favors and really accented the meat well with the mole sauce. The artichokes were crispy, well flavored and you could taste the variety of herbs, burrata and parmesan cheese. Both were spectacular, you can’t go wrong with either but my wife liked the short ribs the best. With two amazing appetizers setting the bar high, we were worried the entrees would be a disappointment. Tip 4: split an entrée like the pork chop and save room for dessert. My wife ordered the sea scallops and I ordered the pork chop entrees. The scallops looked nice and my wife said it was good but not great and she wouldn’t order it again. The pork chop on the other hand, incredible is not descriptive enough. It came with a yam purée and cooked kale. Never having cooked kale before and only tolerateing cooked spinach, i though I would give it a go. I loved the yams, not too sweet and not too heavy. The pork chop had an cranberry mostarda(like a chutney) OMG not too sweet but provided added a little sweetness to every bite with a savory meat. It’s a large portion, probably a 10 oz piece of meat and 1 ½ cups of yams. We took have of it home with us. Well, after the wonderful meal we had to look at the dessert menu. After perusing the menu, we settled on splitting Richie’s Wonder Bar. Well, we fell in love with this dessert. The shortbread crust was buttery and the peanut butter and white chocolate Ganache was like eating peanut butter fudge, it wasn’t too sweet and had a thick salted caramel drizzle to offset the peanut butter. Last be not least, Tip 5: split the bar, it comes with a scoop of ice cream and is too much for one person although my wife said I will have to get my own next time we go… Okay twist my arm. =) Thank you Chef De Mane for inspiring me to write this review. You made us very happy to dine at your restaurant, it is now our special place to make memories of great food, great atmosphere, and great times together.

My husband came home this evening and asked me what I wanted to do for date night. I was absolutely famished and told my husband that the only thing I could think of was getting to a restaurant before my blood sugar dropped any further. That was when he gave me the blank stare. «Where do you want to go?» he asked. Ah, here we go again… always looking for a good place to eat. Unilocal to the rescue! I looked up places that were not too far from home(remember, I am starving) and came across«Pearl District.» I had heard a rumor that the place was good and it seemed to be supported by the online reviews. So off to Westlake we went… The restaurant is located in a large stip mall off of Westlake Boulevard(near Sprouts Market). The interior décor is Modern Industrial. We were asked if we had reservations(we did not) and were seated in a back room(that looked like it could double for a business conference room). Although we did not have drinks this evening I must say that the drink menu looked very appealing as did the drink that was ordered by the young couple with toddlers at the table next to us. My husband and I ordered two appetizers, the crispy duck confit pancakes and the braised short ribs. Both were excellent. For dinner I ordered the Grilled New Zealand Venison. It was cooked medium rare and to absolute perfection. I offered my husband a taste and he said it was really good. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon. I would love to tell you what I thought of it but my husband devoured it without sharing even a morsel so if you want to find out I guess you will have to order it yourself. Hope this was helpful! Enjoy.

I am so happy that this place exists in this county. The food is absolutely delicious with their bold rich flavor combinations and variety. The elegant atmosphere is modern and sleek. The service is great with friendly attentive staff. My favorite from tonight was the CRISPYSKINBRANZINO — grilled lemon, roasted grape tomatoes, capers, oregano, zucchini, roasted fingerling potatoes, garlic lemon butter. It was light yet packed a punch. The SWEETTEABRINEDPORKCHOP — was thick and juicy and cooked just how I ordered it(medium rare). CREMECARAMEL — was not overly sweet like a lot of pot de crème desserts. The fleur de sal added a nice savory element to it that balanced and smoothed out the sweetness. Creamy and delicious! This place has heavy, bold, forward flavor combinations that have slight Asian influences yet is clearly new American. Everything is artfully prepared and presented while still being easy to eat. This place is one of the best restaurants I’ve been in in this area by far. Great restaurant!

Finally had a chance to check out this place. The menu seemed limited and I felt the appetizers sounded more interesting than the entrees. We didn’t make reservations so we just sat at the bar. Noticed the couple next to us just ate heaps of appetizers instead of having any entrees. Maybe they felt the same way about the entrée selection. Had the short ribs which were really good and for my main, I finally decided on the crispy skin branzino. I rarely order fish but the meat dishes just didn’t excite me. The branzino wasn’t a let down. That crispy skin, aaahhhh! I feel the food quality was worthy of 4* but I took away a star because I think the prices were a little on the high side. For $ 34, I could have a fancier entrée in a popular LA restaurant. It was good but not $ 34 good. I wish Unilocal would allow half stars as this place would be a 3.5* to me.

Sleek design with dark woods, grey walls, and large mirrors. It’s a bit narrow, with the main dining room one table wide, and the back room a bit claustrophobic. Still, it’s classy and upscale, with white tableclothes and candles. Nice. The menu is a bit small and limited = seasonal and rotates, and one item in each category. Don’t find something you are looking for, you can mix and match preparations. Beyond great is that they carry Allagash Curiuex($ 12), so the rest of this evening is gravy. 1. Crispy Brussels Sprouts($ 11) — no. It’s good, but not even great compared to a dozen other restaurants I favor.(3.5 stars) 2. Copper River Salmon($ 29) — served with a cherry reduction sauce, over mashed peas and a half dozen asparagus. Cherry reduction was to die for, but the copper river salmon was the 4th best out of 4 that I’ve tried. Not the fault of the chef, per say, but it was the most fishy.(4.0 stars) 3. Fresh berries & Cream($ 9) — delicious and ample amount of berries and fresh cream.(5.0 stars) Great service, nice atmosphere, but food was good but not great. Still, this a place to go to for some romance, a nice outing, or an all paid business function.

A small but wonderful restaurant serving an interesting take on American dishes. The menu is small, but varied… with enough items for anyone to find something tantalizing. Everything was delicious. Amazing amounts of flavor(what I live for!), beautiful plate presentation, plentiful portions, all freshly and expertly prepared. Ambience is great with a cool vibe, candles on each table, quite nice. As for the food, my husband ordered as an entrée the Pork Tenderloin, which came with carrots, bok choy, and admittedly, neither of us can remember what starch it came with. I don’t eat pork tenderloin, so I didn’t pay much attention to anything other than how beautiful the plate looked and the fact that he truly enjoyed it. I ordered the Crispy Skin Branzino, which is my absolute favorite fish. I have to say that this preparation of branzino was, hands down, the best I’ve ever had. Soft fish, crispy skin, fantastic flavor in a garlic lemon butter. It was lovely, and the roasted grape tomatoes, capers, zucchini and fingerling potatoes that accompanied it were equally as delicious. For appetizers, my husband ordered the white cheddar gouda fondue mac ‘n cheese(with bacon), which, because of the bacon, I didn’t care for. I know, I know… but I am one of the few lost souls on this earth who doesn’t eat or like bacon. Don’t hate me. I did, however, like the tuna meatballs(strange, huh?) in harissa sauce. I have one complaint about this dish… there were only 3 tiny meatballs, and I mean tiny… like the size of a nickel, and it really didn’t justify the amount of sauce or the price that they were charging for such a small portion. Appetizer or not, that was ridiculous, and even if they were that small, give some more for the amount of sauce that was there. Yet, they tasted good, and the Harissa sauce, while spicy, was very flavorful. I almost forgot… shortly after being seated, they bring a loaf of warm, soft bread with this amazing herbed butter, and both the bread and butter were delicious. Really good. As for the other end of the meal, we were too full for dessert, but maybe next time, we will try some. This is a very nice restaurant that we will certainly return to. The food here is expertly prepared, and it is quite apparent they know what they are doing at Pearl District.

Excited to be here since we love Leila’s! The food has more Asian fusion theme. Loved the appetizers roasted cauliflower and seared ahi tuna. My entrée halibut was good but a little dry and the steamed rice made it very dry altogether. It had great ambience and service!

Me and my girlfriend went here for dinner. We ordered some appetizers. That arrived quick but the main entrée took some 20 – 25 minutes. But here’s the story, we heard plates fell on the floor. So we ignored, after 10 minutes all our food(entrée) came and was served except for my other friend. Waiter came back and apologized for one entrée missing and said that he didn’t forget about it but unfortunately it fell on the floor and that was the reason why we heard some plates break earlier. Really? That was 10 minutes before our food was served. Ok fine. Now when the fish came, I think they rushed cooking it as it was too fishy smelling. The restaurant has some good food but I think it is a little bit pricey. The fish was $ 37, my pork tenderloin was $ 27 a glass of wine is $ 15 etc. our total bill was $ 410 for 6 people. And the décor inside was nothing really fancy. Service was ok, they are not attentive with refilling water.

Impressive! Pearl District’s plain good. Tuesday evening dinner & I entered skeptical. Westlake Village’s upscale restaurants are almost always more bark than bite, but turns out this isn’t the story for Pearl District. Their menu’s interesting without being too obsure & the atmosphere’s similarly stylish without trying too hard. Everything was good, from distinct drinks to classic desserts. I recommend starting with the Oaxacan Heat, a mezcal-pineapple cocktail with a smooth mix of sweet and spicy. Another standout’s the appetizer brussel sprouts, which are a great starter or entrée add-on. The serving size is very generous, plus the unique addition of mint make them a total table-pleaser. All the meats & fish were cooked to perfection — short ribs, branzino, & pork chop served with a beautiful sear but still wonderfully tender throughout. Service was mostly attentive without hovering, but got a little lax towards the end when we were looking to close our check. Either way we had a great first experience with PD& look forward to returning.

My friend and I popped by around 4 pm last night but they were not open yet. She was famished and I am on East Coast time, so we went elsewhere to eat and came back for drinks. Has a nice feel to it, very different on the interior than Finn’s and more like the Proprietor’s former restaurant Leila’s. Kind of dark and elegant. Menu looks great. Can’t wait to try it. The bartender Jenna is really who this review is about, she was terrific! She made us some unique drinks, you could tell she has quite a palette, when she made me a vodka orange cherry concoction from heaven, and then we found out she went to culinary school — but of course! Anyhow, when we walked in the bar was entirely packed and we felt very underdressed, turns out it was a wedding party, but the bartender greeted us with grace and a homespun courtesy that made us really feel cared for and is a lovely service quality. She waxed poetic about the menu too so looking forward to going back for dinner. So our experience was great! Kudos to the new spot!
