History

Established in 1980.

Panera Bread® was established in 1981; our Westford bakery-​café opened in 2012 Ronald M. Shaich is Chairman of the Board and co-​CEO. William W. Moreton is President and co-​CEO. Panera Bread is expanding quickly across North America, operating 1,562 company-​owned and franchise-​operated bakery-​cafes in 40 states and in Ontario, Canada as of March 27, 2012, under the Panera Bread®, Saint Louis Bread Co.® and Paradise Bakery & Café® names.

OK — I’m writing this review in hopes any person who manages this Panera is reading this — I hope this Panera can improve, since it’s kind of a central hub in Westford now, and I don’t wanna drive to Drum Hill :)
First, very, very long lines — there are consistently lines out the door, and they move incredibly slowly — it seems that they always have too few people on register, and too many ambling around in the food-​prep area.
And second — when the teenaged workers are preparing your food, it usually comes out poorly — they are slow, bantering with each other, and I guess not playing attention — typically when they’re working, it means a cold panini. In contrast, when the «grown-​ups» are working, the food is reliably good, and comes out fast.
I really hope they can improve!

ANOTHER update. These people haven’t wronged me… although remembering to ask for my panera card #/​ph# is a problem… mine as much as theirs… but don’t tell me to take that receipt and go on line to get the credit for the over-​priced food I just paid for, do it right there… you certainly aren’t busy.
But this review is for the dirty bowl and the messy/​dirty dining room…
I don’t like dirty and don’t trust dirty… if it’s out where I can see it, what is it like where I can’t see???

Very pleased with the variety of items I can get here. Also, they’re willing to make modifications. I love that they have organic foods here.

My wife and I were so impressed by their service, she told me to write this review.
What happened was that I ordered the food online and selected the Drum Hill Road one.
When my wife reached the Cornerstone Panera, they were super-​busy but they still took the time to give her the order without charging her for it (Fulfilling the same order).
As usual the quality of the Panera food was great.

I like this Panera. I like the bagels/​Dislike the cream cheese (very loose and watery).
The soups are good but are small and not a good value.
The sandwiches are good, not great.
The staff here are friendly and I can get in and out with the correct order in a reasonable amount of time.
The bathrooms and restaurant overall is very clean and well maintained.

Ordered a turkey avacado bacon sandwich that came out with raw bacon fat, dry freezing cold turkey, freezing cold bread and unripe avocado. I can’t believe that sandwich costed $ 8, it was completely inedible. Threw it away after a bite. I absolutely do not recommended this Panera Bread.

Ordered a you pick two and had a coupon but didn’t realize the coupon was for a specific Panera bread location. The manager honored the coupon anyway. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious.

Panera Bread in Westford is one of my favorite places, food is good every time and the service is quick. I am there at least 3 times a week and the staff is always nice and friendly. I like soup & salad and sometimes I take turkey on country bread, plenty of choices and all are good. Bakery products are fresh and tempting, calorie count sometimes scare me though :-)
You can sit on the patio during the nice sunny days and enjoy the weather while sipping the green iced tea, thats a delight.
Can’t say enough; management, staff, food, and location, everything is perfect.

I just can’t get enough of Panera. Such great quality of food — I’m loving the pastas, but the salads are always decent, and the sandwiches and soups are the best! Westford’s barista is particularly good — always has the right amount of foam on the cappuccino. Tables have been nice and clean lately, even at the busiest times, and the employees are always so helpful and never make me feel hurried. They are even patient with some undecided customers who would drive an otherwise sane person over the top.

PROS: Standard cozy ambiance, quick service, pleasant atmosphere for fast food.
CONS: The greek salad here was less than half the size I normally get at other Panera’s. When I picked it up, I asked the server if this was a «half portion» meant for a soup and ½ salad deal, but he said no. I requested that he add more salad because it was very meager, really less than half the bowl was filled. He flipped the bowl over and started over, but gave me the same amount of lettuce, maybe even less, with some attitude.
Also, on this day, the decaf and regular coffee was awful. I spit it out both times. Seriously, this was a BAD DAY for Panera’s in my book.

Every time I’ve been here its been the same as any other Panera I’ve been to – fantastic food, (reasonably) fast service, and kind people. My only beef is once they were out of my beloved broccoli cheddar soup, but the nice thing about Panera is there is always another (almost) equally delicious item to choose from on the menu.
