Quickie Review: An exceptional Subway that always handles the customers needs in a positive way. What I like most about this Subway is that it sets itself apart from all the others that have popped up through the years with it’s old school exterior. It’s really almost become a landmark in Westfield because of how long it’s been there. You don’t ask for much when you go to a Subway and they provide to the best of their ability.

I can remember back in college in the mid 80’s, the Subway restaurant in Greencastle had napkins that had this phrase printed on them: «5,000 Stores by 1990». I think that means I’m getting old. This subway is nothing special, but they get passing grades in the basics. The store seems relatively clean, and I was greeted when I walked in. They don’t skimp on the veggies, which is a welcome treat. My only minor complaint pertains to uniformity; one of the people preparing my footlong Club that day was wearing a T-shirt, no uniform, no name tag, and no hat. She was apparently a manager who was passing through, and got behind the counter and started helping out. I appreciate the effort, but the military guy in me thinks she should be in uniform. Otherwise, it just looks like someone off the street is fixing my food. But anyway, it’s a typical Subway — you know what you’re getting.

A solid subway. You can’t really review a Subway in too much detail, in my opinion. I’m here for a baseball tournament, and this restaurant was the closest to Westfield High School, the field we were playing at. When you first pull up, you’re pleasantly surprised. They have a modest but nice front porch/outside sitting area. It was decorated well and easy on the eyes. Granted, it was a beautiful day in the middle of summer. Anyways, it’s small on the inside but gets the job done. Staff was kind and courteous. I had a good experience! I ordered a ham, turkey, and provolone footlong on 9-grain honey oat with 2x meat and cheese. Mmmm, I’m hungry.
