Fuck the windjammer I found bugs in my food. I complained about it and the server was so rude to me. That place needs to be closed its soo grossZ don’t go there

Left 3 hours earlier then expecting to tonight because of being disrespected by management just because I was lost to find the bathroom. Misunderstanding turn into pure disrespect and never received an apology. Honestly all she should had done was apologized because I get why she thought what she thought but the fact that she lied to me and didn’t tell me where the actual working bathroom was in the establishment that I was waisting my money into for 2 hours prior to getting forced to leave the bar that had my credit card and my friend waiting for me to get more drinks. Ended up using a bathroom that had no lighting outside because that’s where she directed me when I asked where the bathroom was. And the reason why she told me to leave was because I didn’t have a stamp on my hand (only because I entered her bar at 815 prior to anyone even giving stamps and I didn’t even know they were because like I said I just happen to have been there for 2 hours drinking outside on their patio) and when I entered to get a stamp from a security guard I actually had to pull him away from talking to people to even give me a stamp when I walked in. I could have just walked right in again and no one would have said anything to me because he wasn’t paying attention. Honestly will probably never go here again because of this disrespectful behavior and the fact clearly my money wasn’t worth shit to her. I had additions friends on there way and told them to turn back and meet me elsewhere because of this. Lost business just because your to busy to listen to your paying customers and help them when they need help. Paddys will get my business for now on.

Stopped in today around 4:00 pm to check the place out since it was one of the first beach bars to open… They got ten dollars out of me and I can say with absolute certainty they will never get another dollar for one reason… The bartender, Nicolette (I heard her say people call her coco). She was the rudest, most dismissive, disrespectful, under educated bartender I have ever dealth with and literally every person I spoke to echoed this sentiment. She claimed that she was extremely busy but i counted 12 people in the entire restaurant and if she is completely incapable of handling the pressure of a cold early April day then she has tough times coming. The Windjammer fell completely off of my to do list all together based on one terrible interaction with this person and seeing her treat everyone else exactly the same… It is called hospitality, if you can not provide common courtesy and respect to your guests than you have no business being behind a bar.

Great service! They accommodated my food preferences by replacing the wheat roll with crispy romaine lettuce, so that I could enjoy the most fantastic lobster salad I have ever experienced. Try the mermaid Mary!

Foolproof beer, clam fritters, lobster roll and tuna tacos. Out of them all the beer might have been the standout. The tacos were very good, the lobster roll was completely acceptable but the clam fritters could have been better. There was very little clam in the fritter and they were a bit more chewy than I usually like. They were a good size and temperature and the fritter part tasted like nice fried breading but not much if any clam taste. Service was slow and inattentive but that’s the beach in the summer. I would come back. Nice beach views, cold beer and the food wasn’t horrible.

The bar tenders need to be trained better. They simply do not acknowledge you if your not a local.

It was a late Wednesday evening, we went to the Windjammer for the first time ever. We walked in to a quite spacious and nicely decorated establishment. They even had free bingo playing and my friend and I were excited to partake. The bartender was extremely nice and helpful and the bingo clerk was extremely friendly as well. We rode our scooters there this fateful night as I and my comrade were on vacation as we always are at the cottage we frequent on a weekly basis. We’ve never tried Windjammer before as we are most faithful to Andrea. Tonight was a different experience and we knew we wanted something different. When I first sat at the bar I ordered a Johnnie Walker red as I was in one of those moods, ready to get my whistle wet and win my share of the bingo prizes. My compatriot decided it be in our best interest to move our 2015 TapTao50’s with super carbs bored to 51cc. As he gently placed the second scooter in to a parking spot closest to the establishment (we feared them being taken as they are light and highly desired) he heard what sounded like a honk. This is where I digress, I am sitting at the bar enjoying my delicious Walker Red hotly anticipating the first game of Bingo to commence to my unexpected surprise I see my brojanki walk in quickly followed by what looked like a 89 year old sporting a walker with Spaulding tennis balls shouting he was the owner and ordering us to leave. I politely asked what was the matter and he explained he did not want us parking our scooters so close to his establishment and that he was the owner and should park where he desired. I took him for his word, apologized for any misunderstanding and he said finish your drinks and leave, I chose not to finish that scrumptious morsel of the label red paid the bartender the full price, plus a generous tip and wept as I walked out. Anyone could have just left and not paid albeit it was important to us to show respect if in case he was indeed the owner. At that age however I’m not sure he remembers his depends in the morning but I can’t argue something I don’t know. On the way out I explained how rude I think this was as I don’t see any fault for parking scooters in a parking lot at the beach. He wanted nothing to do with what I had to say. Sadly I must discourage anyone from dining and or supporting this establishment.

In my opinion the Windjammer is the best bar on the strip. The food and drinks are delicious and well-​priced for a beach bar. Spending an afternoon out on the deck listening to a band is a great time. You won’t regret it. Oh, and they have free parking!

As a «local» the Windjammer is my go-​to beach bar. It seems to not be as crowded or have a cover like Paddy’s & the Andrea.
I’ve had food on the patio before but it wasn’t anything spectacular. It’s cheap beach food so don’t expect much. I come to drink during the night like a tourist which is what most people reading these reviews are looking for.
I only drink beer so I can’t comment on the mixed drinks but they have enough of a selection to keep me happy. I usually just grab a ‘Gansett Summer or Del’s Shandy but I’ve seen some good stuff on tap here including local brewery Grey Sail. They don’t gouge you for drinks just cuz you’re near the ocean either.
The last time I went there was an 80’s tribute act that wasn’t that bad considering I usually hate paying a cover for any un-​original act. $ 5 is what you’d pay to get into the Andrea with a crappy DJ & Paddy’s is double that for crap.
It’s a little further down the beach too which can deter a larger crowd so it’s a bit more laid back than the other 2 bars. I’d recommend it over Paddy’s for sure & on par with the Andrea depending on your qualifications.

I was there I Saturday and Sunday (⁸⁄₂₃ and ⁸⁄₂₄). What a blast. The outside bar has live music and this past weekend it was outstanding.
On Sunday I got there early. Parking was $ 20.00 in the Windjammer lot. A bit much if you ask me. I set up my camera on a tripod on the platform right outside of the bar and I had a blast taking pictures of the shore. About 11:30 I broke all that down and went inside for lunch and sat at the outside bar. I was one of the first customers. I ordered clam chowder and a Octoberfest beer. The cook should pay more attention to what he’s doing. The soup was cold so I sent it back. I got it back hot. It was good too. Another couple showed up and sat down next to me and we had a good time. The place was filling up and the live music showed up. From that time on the place was rocking. Everyone was so friendly. The the bar tender told me she couldn’t serve me anymore Octoberfest because it was too far to walk! So I tried the Gray Seal. CRAP! Manager you need to fix that problem. Anyway overall I had a great time! I had more to eat. I wouldn’t consider the Windjammer nothing more than a snack bar for dinning. The women seem to like the bar and show off their swimsuits here.

I came here on Saturday with a few friends to eat a light lunch. When we entered the restaurant there were no hosts or waitresses anywhere to be found. We sat down at one of the tables by the inside bar. We waited for over 20 minutes and still had not been greeted by a waitress. I walked to the bar for service and all of the bartenders looked at me but did not ask if I needed anything. I had to pretty much yell over the bar to get a bartenders attention. I asked if we could order drinks and food through the bar because we had not yet been greeted. The bartenders response was «umm yea but it’s a 40 minute wait for food.» We ended up leaving without even being asked if we wanted something to drink.

I was trying to go to Paddy’s but couldn’t get parking. I have always seen the Windjammer but never stopped in. Hey what a find! They have a private free lot, live music on the weekends, cheap drinks, friendly servers, and the food is decent for a touristy seaside bar.
The bathrooms are tiny and have a wait — but all in all a solid choice among the bars in Misquamicut to hang out, have some beeyahs, and enjoy the sun and surf.

I guess you get what you get when you are buying beach food at a walk up window, but as much as they charge, you’d think it would at least be edible. I had the fish sandwich and it was so bland and mushy that I ate about 3 bites before I couldn’t eat any more. What a waste of $ 9.50! Stick to the basics, hotdog (for a whopping $ 4.50) and french fries.

I went to this bar to see a band that I’ve seen before. I went with a couple friends and it took 15 minutes to get service. I went on 4^th of July. When the bartender finally showed up; she explained that there were no waitresses.
Now granted, it was raining that day, there is no logical reason that a restaurant should not even have one single member of waitstaff on shift.
The doors to the event room where the band was scheduled to play in were scheduled to open until half hour later and the sound was horrible.
I came here a couple years back and my friend got locked in the restroom. If you go there a lot of times you can see a grumpy looking old guy there. I’m pretty sure he’s the owner. He was unfriendly, and the facilities aren’t kept up with… the bathrooms reeked.

Hadn’t been there in years and so I decided to see the changes. The bar is huge and inviting, I wasn’t there for any of the special musical events. Just had lunch on the patio overlooking the ocean and it was a big disappointment. There were ashtrays on every table, and now a non smoker, had everyone else’s smoke coming my way and that was upsetting. The dish I ordered was chicken quesadilla… it looked like neither.
It was made on a cheapened version of a pannini grill and «crumbs» of chicken, no actual pieces, it was like minced chicken, tasty but certainly not worth the $ 9.50.
Still trying to figure out what the «bread» was like. Had never seen this before for a quesadilla. Served with a tiny cup of salsa, sour cream and for an additional dollar… guacamole. My wife had a caesar salad on a wrap, opted for onion rings instead of the French fries. Again, not worth the $ 9.50 and was only a tad better than the quesadilla. The soda came in a 10 ounce plastic cup. The view was the best part but had to fight the cigarette smoke in the crosswinds. We won’t be rushing back there again soon. They should be considerate to some of their customers and have a non smoking section. (Was hoping to post a picture of the dish but was unable to)

I was hesitant to write a review of the Windjammer because it is my favorite beach bar in Westerly. I love going here, day and night! During the day this bar is great because they have 40 or so Adirondack chairs lined up against the wall so that you can relax, maybe have a cocktail and enjoy the view. I go to the beach alone sometimes and always feel safe relaxing at the Jammer by myself with some magazines. During the day they usually have a DJ or an acoustic band. They also almost always have alcohol promotions so you can get a free t shirt with your bud light lime :)
At night, Jammer usually has live music. Sugar (excellent local band) plays a couple of times a summer and it is a lot of fun to get on the dance floor.
Another perk about the Wind Jammer is the prices… though they certainly aren’t cheap they are the most reasonable on the beach.

Great view of the ocean from the bar. Open air dining, with a full menu. Traditional items include Clam fritters (with huge pieces of clam), clam chowder, and fried seafood dinners, including fish and chips, scallops, and shrimp. A margarita topped with an upside-​down mini Corona is just the thing to wash down all this yummy seafood!
We parked right in front (there was a lot and no sign saying it was restricted), and didn’t have an issue, but a lot of folks have reported that you need to pay for parking. I don’t know… park at your own risk!

On a summer or fall day I always enjoyed having a drink on the beach. You can’t go wrong with Misquamequet Beach in the summer.
You will have to pay for parking here though is the only part that sucks or walk miles.
This place is a ghost town in the winter. Don’t plan on a stop by during winter hours from my experience.
