Two night stay, $ 800.00 total. Room floor was very sandy when we checked in. The front desk was notified but the floor was not cleaned until the next day. 5 people, 2 double beds and a pull out couch. Couch was unsleepable. Put the cushions from the couch under the mattress to be able to use it. No consideration from the front desk as to do with the condition of the room. Will not be returing.

First of all location, location, location. Being able to smell the salt air and hear waves crashing when you wake up is priceless. Even better is walking a few steps from your room and enjoying your coffee in the chairs on the bar/patio. The rooms are large, bright and clean. The staff was very accommodating and went WAY above and beyond(special shout out to Stephanie). I’m already looking forward to my next stay.

Great place to stay, staff is so awesome and accommodating! The bar on the beach is so cool makes you feel like you are in paradise! The bar tenders were so friendly and you can’t beat the location, you step right out of your hotel on to the beach. I would stay here again in an instant!

This motel is literally on the beach. The parking lot is not dirt as one other reviewer stated, it is sand. At $ 188 a night the price was hard to beat! Sure the room is simple. But it’s clean and bright. A small fridge, a table and two chairs, plenty of storage for clothes, and clean firm mattresses are what you get. It could probably use some work. But again you are ONTHEBEACH for less than $ 200 a night. With an outdoor bar and a small private beach it makes for a great vacation away from the kids. The sand on the beach is not rocky at all. Maybe other reviewers didn’t make it past the sandy and somewhat rocky parking lot to actually enjoy the beach. Bottom line this place was well worth the cost and I would come back. I guess if you’re accustomed to staying in higher end hotels and are traveling with people that love to complain you can leave a crappy review. I’ll be at the bar watching the waves!

This year the hotel has gotten even better. They have a bar outside right on the water with a platform and seating. Also the staff was very friendly and accommodating. One of the best if not the best service I have ever received.

My husband did a lot of research before choosing this place and we really didn’t see many negative reviews, which was surprising because this place is dirty, dilapidated and just plain terrible. I gave it two stars because of the beachfront location which was nice. The motel staff is unaccommodating and uninterested in providing any sort of customer service. We paid over 200 per night for this place which is an outrageous amount considering what we got for it.

Very poor experience. Staff does not accommodate guests and is extremely rude. The rooms are dirty and old, and the motel is loud at all hours. Our room had no hot water. The«private beach» is very small and crowded, as well as full of rocks. The only positive thing about this motel is the view of the ocean and the convenience to not have to drive to the beach. Way overpriced for a small, dirty room and terrible service from the staff.

FYI to anyone traveling to RI wanting to stay at a hotel on the beach… I HIGHLY advise you to stay away from the sandy shore hotel. Extremely unprofessional rude to there customers and have awful service. I tried booking a room, there employees/owner messed up on charging a room that was supposedly refunded and lied about it! Never go there they will rip you off! And when wanting to speak about it on the phone with GENO he proceeded to put my sister on hold and then when she finally talked to someone. This person told her the boss won’t be in until 6pm.(Which is awfully late for a owner to be in) since my sister had an idea she was getting the run –a — around she had her husband call. Funny the owner picked up.(Nice to feel like your being lied too). GENO lied about being on the phone with my sister previously saying«that’s not on file»(in regards to her refund) I can’t even rate them any stars because of there awful service to me and my sister they don’t even deserve half a star!!! Instead of owning up to a mistake the business made and fixing the problem. They lied and argued about it.

Loud, outdated and unfriendly staff. Their«private» beach area is rocky. On top of that most of the hotels chairs were broken and dirty. The outside bar also seemed trashy and overpriced. Surprisingly, we found the public beach to be more enjoyable. Overall it’s a shit hole not worth the money, many better options nearby.

This place is outdated and loud. I do not recommend it. It needs a lot of work. The parking lot is literally dirt. There are hot water heaters laying outside and you can hear everything. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money and get a better place or walk to the beach. Don’t get any room by the house keeping room because there is a motor in there that goes off at 6am and vibrates the entire room. Just not good.

A mixed bag. Superb beach experience. Below average hotel experience. If you want a motel with direct access to a semi-private beach, this place is great. Drive up, park your car at the edge of the beach and stay in a room that is right on the beach. Couldn’t be more convenient. Beach is clean and shoreline is nice, fine sand; the atmosphere is peaceful. Nice little town with a few beach shops, bars and food joints. The main beaches here are really crowded, so this direct access to a much less crowded part of the beach is really fantastic. On the other hand, the rooms are below average(yet expensive). Sparsely furnished, not particularly clean. Tiny bathroom. Thin walls. No amenities. All rooms have access through a common balcony/terrace where there are a few sets of tables and chairs that seem constantly occupied by noisy kids or drunk adults.(The hotel provides room service for beer and liquor.) We had one such table right outside our room, so we got to «enjoy» the drunken ramblings of a squabbling couple one evening. When I booked the room, I was assured of Internet access, but that was hardly the case. The wi-fi does not reach every room. The management acted surprised to hear this, but one staff member confessed that it was not unusual to get complaints about this. Combined with the very weak cellphone signal, it was hard to stay in touch. I guess that’s good when you’re on vacation, unless you want to use Unilocal to find a nearby restaurant. I’d give the beach experience 4 stars and the hotel 2, so this ends up with 3 stars.
