TLC Laser Eye Center

I thought that LASIK was no longer problematic m people who complained about it were crazy. My optometrist is a TLC representative (more so than a patient advocate). I was not given the testing results but I scored the lowest on the dry eye exam which is a string test for moisture. At TLC, the optometrist said that, «If it was not Spring I would say let’s not do this because your eyes are so dry.» I had no idea of the serious conditions that can result from dry eye. I trusted these optometrists that it’d be fine. Just prior to the procedure they gave me alternative information that was presented including that LASIK wasn’t as safe compared to contacts/​glasses and they presented all of the negatives after my sedative & I had already paid. This info was in direct contrast to what had previously been presented. The representatives are very scripted and are practiced at being insincere. The procedure was terrifying. Ive had medical procedures before, However, I had nightmares for several months regarding watching my corneas lift off my eye after being cut and going blind. I don’t think any antiseptic was used. Afterwards I began their regimen of eyedrops. Wanting no complications I was especially adherent to their prescribed regimen. Since that time I’ve had routine visits & many complications including vision loss & changes, styes, lacrimal gland infections, red eyes that scare everyone I see, and swelling of the eyes more so on Right& corneal erosions (The most painful experience of my life). I tried every single type of over the counter eyedrop available without relief. I noticed a white exudate in my eyes. I also had blurred vision in my right lower eye. I called both TLC and my eye dr. I went in to my eye doctor and was prescribed OxoFloxacin and a Z pack which I followed for about 10 days despite this likely being an allergic reaction to a steroid not an infection. In 20 yrs of wearing contacts, I never had any type of infection. I noticed that I had permanent loss in my right eye & my conjunctiva was so loose I couldn’t close my eyes. I called TLC in a panic. I described my symptoms and the doc Who got back to me after maybe two hours stated that I likely had corneal erosions. Holes in my cornea. I was waking up with a searing pain in my eyes and had diffuse redness that was never decreased with drops. I was in agony. I then went to see an ophthalmologist who prescribed eyedrops made from my own blood at a cost of $ 1200 per year in an attempt to heal the corneal erosions. My current regimen is an exhausting 8 times per day Of ‘blood tears’, at least 2 to 3 drops in between this of Systane, flourometholone 4x per day, and refresh p.m. at night. My vision is blurred for at least a third of the day due to dryness or drops. I can’t read or drive when I want to. I find it extremely hard to work around the blurriness & eyedrop instillation schedule but also to see clearly is almost impossible. I have given up on reading. This has been an extreme detriment to my health, life, and finances. I spend most of my time taking care of my sick eyes. I have a permanent pain in my left eye which no one has been able to tell me. It looks like varicose vein’s in the left lateral corner of the skin. It burns all the time. My prescription is different in each eye & decreasing. I see halos around anything white or any light. I need to wear special glasses outdoors and while driving. I get searing pain in my eyes if I look at light. At work, my vision is blurry ~30 min to the point that I can’t even see a where a defibrillator shock was delivered on a tele strip or read a chart most of the time. I was formerly healthy person with no other ailments before this procedure. Both evaluating optometrist stated surgery was fine for me despite obviously being at high risk multiple serious conditions due to an obvious contraindication. There’s a word for that: malpractice. ‘Dry Eye’ might sound like a mild inconvenience but it puts you at risk for serious complications that will make it hard to maintain your vision or your life. I have not had one comfortable day. This surgery is the biggest regret of my life.

I will start off by saying I was scared sh*tless to get this done. So if you’re currently in the same spot. keep reading!
I booked my surgery the day of my consultation for two months out. There was not 1 day of that two month period I didn’t want to cancel. I was unbelievably scared, despite the numerous people I know who’ve gotten it done telling me there was nothing to it. (I also did myself a disservice by you tubing the procedure… DONT DO THAT!!). I’m sure you have the same questions I did… What does having your eyes numb feel like? What is this pressure everyone speaks of and how does it feel? Are you SURE there’s no pain? What if I blink? For the love of god what if I go blind!
The day of my pre op I had Carmen who is amazing! She answered all the weird questions I had. That day she numbed my eyes for a test. You wanna know what it feels like? Nothing. Having your eyes numbed feels like nothing. She assured me everything would be fine and ya know what? I believed her!
My procedure was 3 days later. You walk in and get your eyes cleaned. Dr. Kowalski (who is amazing) comes in to check your eyes out again to make sure nothing has changed. Dr. Probst introduced himself and then it was on to the relaxation room! You sit in a peaceful little room, drops are administered, and you get a chill pill or 2 and you await your turn! Once it’s your turn you enter the room and lay down. Everything happens so quickly so if you wanted to back out, there’s no time! So the whole thing last about 5 minutes. You feel some pressure while they’re creating the flap. The pressure can be likened to this: your eyes are closed and someone is pressing down on your eye. It doesn’t hurt its just kind of like. Well. this is annoying. Then the lasering happens and it feels like nothing, you just look at shiny green lights for a second and boom it’s over. The other eye gets the same treatment and you’re ready to rock and roll! It’s a little blurry, but they ask you to read a clock and I remember thinking holy crap I can see!
So I left, went home and slept for a couple hours (please NyQuil the crap out of yourself… the absolutely BEST thing you can do is sleep at this point!) and I was heeled! The next morning at my post op I was ²⁰⁄₁₅ and felt on top of the world. Please please please dont be scared to do this. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done… I wish I had done it sooner! Thanks to TLC!
Follow up: it’s now been almost 2 months since my surgery. I went back in for another follow up, and these eyes are even better! I’m officially 20/12.5. I have also experienced no side affects at all. no night halos, no dry eye. nothing! I also just went on my first vacation since the surgery, and not having to pack glasses, solution, contact cases, etc was absolutely heavenly. Get this miracle surgery done, ladies and gents! I’ve thought long & hard before leaving a review. I had Lasix 4 months ago and already need a revision. The side effects (halos, difficulty driving at night, dry eyes) were more debilitating than I imagined or felt were explained to me. Then 1 month ago my actual vision got worse (i.e., unable to see ²⁰⁄₂₀ anymore in addition to the side effects). TLC was great at explaining to me why it had happened and what the options were– basically I am apart of the small percentage where things don’t go as planned and I have to back to contacts or surgery again. However because the 1^st surgery failed and the side effects have been so bad I am not considering surgery. TLC gives a lifetime guarantee which is great, But by that they mean they will Surgically correct if necessary (which as stated above I’m wondering why a second correct would be successful in the first wasn’t? Plus worsened side effects) They did refuse any sort of reimbursement which because I am looking at a lifetime of contacts & eye doctors appointments I feel they could have met me somewhere in the middle. I know This surgery is successful And life changing for so many but you have to be aware that you might fall into the failure category. Do a lot of research, especially on the stories where things don’t go as planned.

I thought about LASIK for years but was too hesitant to even call for info. Someone close to me recommended TLC and convinced me to go. I had my initial consultation in August. Had to fill out a little paper work, just like any Dr visit. The technician first went over what they do and what the procedure is like. Then, we went on to do some testing which took about 30 – 45 mins. It was a very detailed eye exam pretty much. After that I met Dr. Kowalski who also checked my eyes and answered all my questions. At that point I was told I was a good candidate and could move forward to schedule the procedure. After picking a date they tell you to stay out of contacts for 2 weeks prior to LASIK. Final exam was a few days before the surgery to make sure everything was still good. Day off they clean your eyes and give you a «chill pill» if you want one. Dr. Probst answered all my final questions. The whole procedure took probably 5 mins total for both eyes. No pain at all, just a little pressure when they create the flap. Dr. Probst was great and explained everything that was going on. Before I knew it they sat my up and I could see the clock without glasses. Little burning for maybe 2hrs after wards but they want you to sleep anyway. Next morning at my check up I was already seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀. Drops for 5 days and artificial tears for a couple of weeks. All the staff and Doctors were great. I would highly recommend checking them out if you are considering LASIK. UPDATE (1) — it’s been a week since my surgery. My eyes feel great! Minimal dryness, nothing the drops can’t fix. At night I see what others describe as «starbursts» around bright lights, but as disclosed its a normal side effect that should go away with time. As far as my vision, I was ²⁰⁄₁₅ at my 4 day check up and I can honestly say I’m seeing better and sharper than I ever did with glasses or contacts, and it seems to get better as every day goes by. I’ll do another update after a month. FINAL UPDATE– it’s been 3 months since my surgery. I’m seeing ²⁰⁄₁₂ which is 2 lines better than ²⁰⁄₂₀. Dryness is pretty much completely gone. Still seeing some glare at night, but that also has gotten a lot better. I’m enjoying life without the trouble of glasses or contacts. Very happy with my decision, would 100% do it again.

Before getting lasik at TLC I couldn’t even make out pretty much anything that was right in front of my face. I had very bad vision. First thing when I woke up the world was a blur. So i decided to look into lasik. My eye doctor recommended TLC. I went in for a free consultation and was given all the information I needed to decide if I wanted lasik. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I decided to go for it, and it was told to me that it’s best to get two eyes done at once. They are professionals here and since I heard so much good about the surgeon I trusted my eyes would turn out well. I made my appointment and even was able to get good financial help thru tlc. The day of my surgery everything went very well. I was told the surgeon did such a perfect job on my eyes that it could be in a medical magazine. Right after surgery I was soon excited because I could finally see for the first time without contacts or glasses. I did have to put drops in my eyes for some time but it was well worth it. You must follow their instructions if you want perfect results! It’s almost been 2 years since my surgery and I now have better than ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision. This was definitely life changing and I still can’t stop bragging about how well things went here. I definitely recommend TLC to anyone looking to get lasik!

I want to be a pilot when I get older, so going into this surgery was terrifying in a way. I honestly just looked up «Lasik Chicago» and gave this place a shot. Once I had my first consultation, I knew this place was for me. WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST LASIK DOCTOR IN THE WORLD HERE NEAR CHICAGO. He has written books, and presented at conventions around the world. My former glasses/​contacts doctor from an America’s Best in Florida (who did not know I was consulting with TLC, recommended Dr Probst because she studied under him at UW). They take the time to answer any questions, and describe the processes throughout. Once the surgery came along, I met with several different people, waited for about 20 min, and the entire process was a little under 2 hours.
Surgery– You will be told to look up at an orange light. You will get to hear the laser before the procedure. As you continue to stare at the light, you will move over to the machine that makes the flap. They will tell you «11 seconds» and with your eyes clamped open (does not hurt) it will feel like you blinked when the flap is made. They will move you back to laser machine, and as they move the flap, you will just see a white blur, with now a faint orange cloud. Continue to stare at the orange cloud as it comes a little into focus. 45 seconds later, the flap is placed down again, and they light is now clear again. This happens with both eyes, and the whole procedure is 10 – 15 min long.
Post-​Op– I was able to walk, and everything was a little fuzzy, like the room was filled with a light fog. It was obvious though that my vision was fixed at this point. I was moved into a semi-​dark room and just stared at the wall. This is when the pain set in. I kept my eyes closed as water drained from my eyes. It was like having a pollen allergy in a room made of pollen. It was bearable but annoying and a little painful. The doctor walked in and asked how I was doing. At this point, he gave numbing drops that worked like magic. I was able to walk out feeling normal until I got to the car. At this point, my eyes were watering again, and I had to cover myself from all light coming in. I made it back home, ate something for lunch and took a nap, just as instructed. After I woke up from a 5 hour nap, I felt completely normal. No more pain, and no watery eyes. I could tell my vision was near perfect. At night, I saw glare around baseball lights and headlights, but this went away within a week. After the surgery, I NEVER had any redness in my eyes. I was told that this is because the way they cut the flap is the least invasive way possible. I could not be more happy.
Tips– Have a driver ready to go with you. Prepare to spend $ 80 – 150 on the prescription eye drops depending on your insurance. It is worth it though. Prepare to give your eyelashes a beating with all of the eye drops. Prepare for a little bit of pain, but nothing worse than a bad day of allergies. Be ready to drop some money ($ 20 or so) on artificial tears about once every 2 weeks for at least a few months. Prepare to write a great review on Unilocal.Prepare to love your life knowing that you went to the best Lasik doctor in the country.

I’ve had glasses for over 23 years (since I was 8), I have a moderate prescription with an astigmatism — change that. I HAD. I was spending $ 750 annually (and that’s with a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ contacts, glasses), minimum, on eye care and eye related stuff. I found out that you can be given a sedative, and started to think about it way more seriously. I asked my eye doctor of 13 years if he knew of anyone that did Lasik, and found out he worked with TLC.
I had my initial consultation in January, and Dr. Kowalski was up front — I could end up with worse night vision, but I was an excellent candidate and should end up 20/​20, or at least in that range (without glasses before, I couldn’t even see the giant E on the top line). I know I heal relatively well, and as the months passed, I just got more and more fed up with contacts (I can only use two types of solution, the others hurt my eyes), and having to hide my glasses from the cat so she wouldn’t take and chew on them overnight.
I had my surgery less than a week ago, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Reading through the informed consent paperwork, I started to freak out, and my boyfriend was like, «Hon, it’s surgery. There are always potential complications. If it’s possible at all, they have to tell you.» I guess I hadn’t realized that it was possible to have an option other than «ooops, didn’t work» or «Dry eyes.» I talked over my concerns the day of the surgery (I probably asked a bunch of annoying clarification questions). I understand that others may have had bad Lasik experiences (my boyfriend’s mom was told by 4 places she wasn’t a good candidate, but she kept looking until someone would), but I was terrified and being able to see walking out of the room, I was SHOCKED at how quickly I could see. At my one day check up, I’m showing no prescription, and I wasn’t even ²⁰⁄₂₀ before. I’ve never been so happy to be able to see a street sign! I do have some fuzziness, that fades a bit, but it’s been less than a week and I know I’m impatient. The worst part is the eye drops every 30 minutes (I recommend, if you’re going to schedule Lasik, looking and finding a good sale, also, the store brands are just as good!).
I’ve seen videos of the surgery, but seriously, you stare at an orange flashing light for about 30 seconds per eye. The laser tech counted down, so I could say «ok, don’t move for 10 more seconds, you can do anything for 10 seconds.» Dr. Probst is amazingly nice, and they clearly and calmly explained everything with the laser before hand — walking me through the process. They asked if I was ready to start, understanding that I might be a tad nervous, ha. They gave me the sunglasses and a flexible eye shield to wear (I appreciate that it was provided), and when I accidentally snapped the eye shield in half last night, when I called the 24 hr number, Dr. Kowalski was very patient and helpful with me. While he suggested sleeping in the sunglasses, my boyfriend arrived home and brought out a role of tie dye duct tape and taped them back together. While not as comfortable, it’ll work until tomorrow (Tues) when they can get me a new one.
I don’t regret this decision, even a little, and I’ll try and update this review throughout my healing process.

My wife had lasik done about 5 months ago. What you don’t hear about is the surgeries that go bad. She had a very bad experience for her. She still can’t see clearly and didn’t want to use glasses, but now her eyes are so flat that we have to try to get special fitted contacts that we still haven’t got yet. So not only did we have to pay $ 4,000, she still needs contacts that are going to cost a lot more. Think twice about this

Quick and easy. The actual procedure itself was barely ten minutes total! The staff is fun, down to earth and professional. It’s been about 5 months since my operation and everything is looking great. ²⁰⁄₁₂ vision is incredible!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Probst and the staff. Prior to having the procedure completed last Thursday I was a nervous wreck. Dr. Probst and Kowalski took the time to answer all my questions in great detail and didn’t rush anything. The procedure was painless and quick. I would highly recommend Dr. Probst to anyone considering getting LASIK.

I had my Lasik procedure/​surgery done on the 24^th of October. Both doctors here are great! The one who operated on me, Dr. Probst was super awesome! He took his time and helped me stay perfectly still. I held nurse Keith’s hand because I was a little skittish since I knew holding the two squishy balls by my crotch wasn’t very comfortable. Nevertheless, they were super understanding and I felt extremely comfortable around everyone. Wally is cool too!
Dr. Kowalski is really awesome too! So after the procedure, I had to call him a few times when eyelashes were stuck in my eyes and when I had to deal with the lubricant goop. He took care of both issues for me without any complaint and I feel like he’s a doctor and a friend. He’s a great Optometrist and I highly recommend him. He is super caring and understanding.
The procedure is weird, not going to lie, I mean your eyes are open. But regardless, your eyes are in great hands and at least it’s not being done by sharks with lasers right? (Austin Power reference)
My advice to you, if you do have this done here please sleep as much as you can afterwards. That’s the best way for our eyes to heal and since I slept equivalent to two days in four days, my eyes healed fast! ^_^

I had Lasik here a month ago and it was the best experience of my life. I was so worried at first because I had dry eyes where my eyes had difficulty producing tears. I was told to do warm compressions on my eyes a few weeks, and it increased my tear prodcution significantly. I had the Lasik done and it was incredible. My vision is absolutely perfect. My eyes are a little dry from time to time and will itch badly (especially after a long day at work on the computer) but most of the time they are fine! Dr. Probst and his staff are wonderful! They make you feel so comfortable and are extremely helpful throughout the entire process. I had such difficulties wearing contacts and glasses annoyed me, but now I don’t need any of that. Life is so much better with Lasik!!! I strongly recommend this place to anyone considering Lasik. If you have any questions with the process, feel free to message me. Great care, great service, friendly staff! I received LASIK and now have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision! My prescription was –9 prior and I am so happy I finally got the procedure done! Everyone was very accommodating and I wish I had not been as nervous as I was and it was so quick! I just wish I had done this sooner.

I feel bad that I waited 8 months to write this, but I wanted to make sure I stayed thrilled for a while. Well, I’m still like a kid with a new toy. My vision is better than 20 – 20, I wake up and can see, my allergies no longer make me blind (with contacts), I can breath without the glasses on (Deviated septum). I swim underwater, shoot, play sports, and have no worries ever.
Louis Probst is the person to trust your eyes to. I understand the stress of the thought of eye surgery, now I feel like a complete whackjob for having any doubts whatsoever. It takes ELEVEN SECONDS per eye. You feel like you can blink even though you can’t. There is a few hours of discomfort, but you have valium in you and are asleep anyway. My quality of life had been improved in ways I just cannot describe.

Let me start by saying 3 of my friends have gotten their eyes done here and were pleased with the results.
I elected to have one eye done at a time per the FDA recommendation.
Due to TLC’s surgery schedule, I had to wait 8 days between eyes. TLC advised me the morning of surgery that I might be «uncomfortable» between surgeries, but I was more than uncomfortable… I was a HOT MESS. it felt like my head was in a clamp. During a post-​op, I asked if this would go away once I got the second eye done, and I was told there are no guarantees followed by an overuse of the term «elective.» That was not a good day.
Luckily, a few days after the second eye was done, the worst of it had faded, however, the wrinkles on my forehead worrying about the potential negative consequences of my «elective» eye surgery are unfortunately still there and will be for many years to come.

I was wearing contacts (and glasses sometimes) for YEARS. Since I hated how I looked in glasses, I wore my contacts every day. They would always bug me; often sting my eyes early in the morning, or get very dry and feel «glued» to my eyeballs after wearing them all night at work. I always knew I wanted to get Lasix, but wasn’t sure where to go. Over a year ago, I came across an add for TLC. I went online and read reviews-​all were excellent! I asked around my family & friends, seeing if they knew anyone who had Lasix done in the Chicagoland area. Turns out, a family friend and a friend of my boyfriend both had it done years ago at TLC in Westchester by Dr. Probst. They both had only good things to say about their experience and their vision.
At my consultation, I found out that I was a perfect candidate for the surgery. Dr. Lehr explained everything to me in great detail. TLC’s long history, great reviews, excellent doctors and customer service helped me make an easy decision to choose them for my Lasix.
On the day of surgery, I was VERY nervous! On that day I finally met Dr. Probst (the surgeon). He was very personal, and took the time to explain anything I wanted to know before I went in. He even told me that we would start only when I was ready. I felt less nervous after talking with him, and was 100% ready to go through with it.
The whole process is so fast. In a blink of an eye (literally!) it was over. I want to say that each eye was done in under 5 minutes, maybe less. There was no pain at all. There was just a weird suction-​like feeling when they pulled back the cornea flap. The results were instant. When I sat up on the table I opened my eyes and could see the time on the clock that was on the other side of the room! I couldn’t believe it!
After the surgery I went home and rested (like you’re supposed to do). The next day I went to my check up at my eye doctor and low and behold, I had ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision! She told me that everything looked great, and to just stay on top of my eye drops schedule. That was the only hard part of Lasix-​the eye drops. For the first day after surgery, you are doing them VERY often-​every hour. And for a week long you have a bunch of other drops that need to be done either every hour or every four hours. You need to be very diligent and organized with these drops-​they are VERY important to the healing process.
The only problem I had with the Lasix process was that my eyes were very dry on day 2. I was at work (I work a night shift as a nurse) and I was using my artificial tears like crazy. I don’t even think I should call that a problem though, because some dryness is expected, and it only lasted a day. Now it’s been about 8 months since my surgery, and my eyes feel GREAT! No dryness at all. I BARELY have to use the as needed artificial tears.
I love my new eyes and will recommend TLC to anyone that asks about Lasix and where to go. TLC is not cheap, but they are the best! They are well known all over the country, have the most experienced doctors, have great customer service, and have a lifetime warranty. Why would you go anywhere else? I am 100% happy with my decision! Thank you TLC of Westchester!

I cannot express how awesome this office is. From the front desk, to the technicians, to the doctors… treatment is top-​notch. Rebecca, Dr. Lehr, and Dr. Probst are among the best medical professionals I’ve come in contact with. The office is efficient, clean, and incredibly organized. I had my surgery on July 26^th and 3 short weeks later I am completely recovered with no dryness at all and perfect vision. If you are thinking about LASIK surgery, strongly consider TLC in Westchester and run… don’t walk! I wish I had done this years ago!

Update, here it is April 18^th, about 50 days post-​op. Vision is perfect! Better than perfect to be exact, I am ²⁰⁄₁₅ in both eyes. Reading is getting much better, still need readers in the morning and late at night, but during the day, my eyes are good. No pain any more, and no dryness at all. Still using lubricating drops about 1 – 2 times per day.

I’m perhaps jumping the gun (after all, one of the potential side effects on the hairy informed consent form was «Death», just one word…“Death”) but I couldn’t be more happy about TLC, four days post-​procedure. Absolutely over the moon.
I was referred here by my Naperville optometrist, which has an affiliation with this TLC. They were able to perform my dilation exam, and then refer me to the Westchester office where surgeries are actually performed for more in depth testing/​eye mapping/​wizardry. Important to note, this is a great way to do things, as TLC offers free «corrections» as long as you keep a yearly eye appointment, and this lets me make those appointments much more conveniently at my closer optometrist rather than the actual TLC facility.
At every step, people were extremely friendly and accommodating, explaining the process, the tests, what everything meant, what my surgery would entail, what kind of results I could expect, everything. One nice thing is that I always saw the same people — the same nurses (is that right right term?), the same OD, etc. Maybe they were juggling what appointments they offered to make sure the same people were always present, or maybe people just work round the clock, but either way it’s very nice. The OD, Dr. Lehr, in particular is really great.
The surgery itself only takes a very short time — I will say, amusingly, that Dr. Probst (the actual surgeon) was «held up» answering another patent’s questions (which I don’t begrudge him at all) but while we waited for him, they laid me down on the «laser station» for lack of a better term and left me under one of the laser thingies. Now, I was appropriately nervous for this process, but not exactly freaking out… but if I had been really anxious? This would not have helped. «Here…stare in to the laser for ten minutes that could BURN THROUGH YOUR BRAIN JUST LIKE IN THAT BAD HORROR MOVIE.» But seriously, not a big deal. I’m sure I could have asked to have my little bed (which swiveled under the laser thing to begin with) moved out from under the laser. I would say the total surgery time was maybe 10 minutes from beginning to end, with no pain, just a little discomfort while having my corneal flaps created. Having pressure applied to your eyeball to stabilize it just isn’t something people are used to, not to mention the odd visual effects your experience during the correction process, etc. And the microkeratome is for the birds. TLC uses lasers for both the creation of the corneal flap as well as the actual corrective procedure. The thought of using a knife, no matter how precise, on my actual eyeball is terrifying… this is much easier for me to stomach. But let me stress — nothing to be concerned about, super easy, super painless, absolutely worth it. The worst discomfort I ever experienced after the surgery was similar to a mild case of chopping onions… and that went away after the nap that they recommend you take right after surgery.
It’s somewhat odd that you don’t (or at least I didn’t) see Dr. Probst until maybe a few minutes before the surgery. No, there was nothing that his staff couldn’t answer for me, and nothing that I had a burning desire to ask him, but it makes the place feel a tiny bit assembly line. Which it really isn’t…it’s just a comment.
I understand that everyone’s experience, correction, results, etc are different, but TLC was very conservative with my recovery — they had promised I would see a large vision improvement by the following morning, and I was seeing incredible improvements as early as mid afternoon after my 8am surgery. So obviously you may not get the same, but holy cow is it cool how fast the correction takes hold. I assume that during the next week my vision will improve at the same rate, such that in a few days, I’ll be able to see through walls, discriminate individual electrons whizzing about their respective nuclei, etc. In all seriousness, it’s really fun to push your glasses up and realize… you’re not wearing any.
The only substantive improvement? They really need to play William Carlos Williams’ electronic cover (rendition?) of Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, «Presto» in the surgery room. For those of you who have seen A Clockwork Orange, well… there haven’t been any improvements in the methods used to hold your eyelids back. Although, perhaps it isn’t a good idea for people «in the know» to be chuckling as lovely lovely Ludwig Van plays.

I had lasik here in October and it was a great experience every step of the way. Drs. Lehr and Probst are both very professional; you definitely feel like you’re in good hands. The facility runds like a well-​oiled machine and in the handful of appointments I’ve had, I was always seen in a reasonable amount of time and never had the dreaded wait to see the doctor once I got into the exam room. The facility is modern and they use the latest technology. I definitely felt confident in choosing to have my lasik performed here versus purchasing a daily deal for it at some strip mall joint! It certainly isn’t a cheap procedure, but I think you should be willing to pay the price given that it’s your eyes!
For me, the procedure, including pre– and post-​, all went smoothly, but of course everyone is different. I can’t recommend TLC highly enough, though.
