Lets see 7 empty tables=30+min wait. really? Why? The food here is good when they make what you ask for… Oh wait they messed that up too. By the time they tried to fix it dinner was over. The bill still had the wrong items in it and it was more than we asked for in the beginning. I will think twice before i come her again. Who do I send the dr. Bill to? For the food/drink poisoning?

If I could give this place 0 stars I most certainly would. We arrived with a party of 5 at 715 for a 730 reservation. 730 came and gone and new parties were walking in and being seated ahead of us. We approached the manager who advised we were the next table, Yeah this was at 735. He advised that it would be another minute or two as we were the next table once again. Next time we looked up it was 8pm and we were still waiting. We approached the manager once again and were told that we are the next table. This place is extremely unprofessional. If you are looking for a place to enjoy I suggest sushi ya as they have hibachi and are much more friendly. As we left Benihana I also noticed a rat running freely on the floor. This place is disgusting and unprofessional.

This Benihana restaurant is awesome for a bunch of reasons. We had reservations and were seated at the table on time which is a huge plus. Unfortunately, the other Benihana restaurants had long wait times even with reservations. Another reason I loved this place was the service and hospitality. The waitress was sweet and was always making sure we had enough drinks and refills. The chef, Jesus, was absolutely wonderful! He was funny, fast, experienced, and had great tricks. Another reason why this Benihana rocked was that I didn’t feel rushed after my meal. At other ones, I feel as though the staff is trying to rush me out to accommodate the next group. The only reason I didn’t give this place all 5 stars was the fact that they didn’t have a variety of signature souvenir mugs like the other Benihanas. They only carried one type and as a Benihana mug collector, I like to have a variety to choose from when I order my drinks. If they can provide more signature mugs for their guests to choose from, I’d give this place 5 stars. Benihana of Westbury, please order more mugs for us! Overall, such a great experience! :-)

I love hibachi — especially for large groups. I mean, who doesn’t like dinner and a show? That being said, Benihana could really do a better job in a few ways. Stopped by for our annual holiday lunch out with my coworkers today and were seated immediately. Our waitress was confused from the start — brought out the wrong drinks, messed up a few of our orders, etc. I am a vegetarian and have never had trouble finding something at a hibachi restaurant. Today was the exception. After searching the menu for a while and seeing nothing but a ‘house salad’, I asked the waitress if they had a vegetable hibachi option or if I could get the chicken hibachi lunch meal with the meat on the side. She simply said ‘no.’ and continued to tell me that I didn’t understand and was wrong as I tried to ask her about vegetarian options. Finally, I ended up ordering vegetable fried rice and a ‘side of vegetables’, whatever that means. I was shocked /pleased when it turned out to be edible(and actually pretty good). Our hibachi chef, John, was great. He was fun and obviously well trained. 5 stars for John! My low rating is simply due to service standards. Would I come back? Eh, not any time soon. Who wants to have to explain and argue with the waitress to find something vegetarian when I can just go get really good sushi down the street?

I recently came here on a date and was very excited to try it, as it has such a good reputation! It was an hour wait but the private seating area(without the Habachi presentation) was not, so we chose to sit there. It was a little more intimate which was nice. I ordered Habachi Chicken with mushrooms. It came with a big bowl of onion soup, salad, chicken pieces, dipping sauces, shrimp, vegetables, rice and a choice of ice cream for dessert. It was all delicious! I recommend it, especially the ginger sauce. It also came with green tea which was light and crisp. Inside décor is also relaxing and service was pretty good as well.

Places like benihana are fun to go to with children and they are a fun environment to eat, watching the chef do his/her thing. However, the food, obviously can be inconsistent and is highly dependent on the chef you get. For that reason I’m giving htis place 3 stars. Food: 2.5 stars Good chef, food excellent. Bad chef, food poor. Average out to 2.5 stars Service: 3 stars Regardless of chef’s cooking ability, they’re all entertaining. The waitresses are friendly enough. Biggest knock is the wait for the table. I understand having to wait for a full table to get service, but it gets annoying when it’s slow and they still wait Décor/whatever It’s fine. I’m not one to be picky about this. Value 3.5 stars It’s expensive. But you do get a lot of food for the price. Will I be back? yes. My daughter’s favorite place. I’d much rather go to a sit down, menu place.

LOVE this place! Starting with the service, it was great! Our cook was a blast! He made lots of jokes and did a lot of tricks which kept the wait for the food very interesting. The food was delicious! I had the noodles which had a bold and delicious taste. They also sang in Japanese for my friends birthday! I would highly recommend y’all to go!

The food is great and the service is excellent. My favorite dish is the twin tail lobster with chicken fried rice. I love the way the food is cooked in front of you and the tricks the chefs perform to entertain the patrons. I would recommend everyone to try Benihana.

I came here for a birthday lunch with a friend. It was not busy and we were quickly seated. The waitress came over and took our orders and then need to take a little while before the chef came out. I was really interested in seeing the whole show that is put on while cooking the food. The chef kind of went through the motions. I definitely think he could’ve been more animated to get us involved and excited about the experience. The food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend the garlic butter when they cook your food and teriyaki sauce on any chicken. Even the vegetables were fabulous. I would return again. However do be advised that it is pricey and you may want to get lunch as it’s about $ 10 cheaper than dinner.

I had never been to a Benihana. I was joking the whole night that Ben had called, and we were running late for our reservation. To my amusement our waiters name was… Ben. LOL. I had ordered a sushi/sashimi combo plate and my girlfriend got teriyaki chicken. Both were good and the chefs really try and have fun with the cooking/customers. It’s decent food, and an experience. If you want a quick bite, don’t go here. But for the experience and the fun, we had a good time. =)

This location is ideal in terms of parking and the malls near by. Dave and Busters is across the street and there’s a movie theater nearby too. A moment of silence… The hostess are rude! We sat at the table forever waiting to order drinks. We placed out drink order and the waitress took forever to bring it. The cook(Danillio) came over after 30 minutes but he was very pleasant. He didn’t stack the onions up to make a volcano(new people look forward to the experience), no shrimp tail tossing in his hat. All he did was make the egg yolk look like a chicken! Idc how many times I go to Benihanas I’d like to see the performance and then eat. The restroom was filthy. I mean toilet paper all over the floor. I left my phone at the table so I didn’t take a picture to show how nasty the women’s bathroom was. The toilets had urine on the seats and the floors. The sink had water all over the counter area and napkins piled up. You would think or expect them to have better service because of the area. But, I guessed wrong. I approached the manager for ‘ice’ and he spun around as if asking for ice is a problem. He had a scar over one if his eyes that made him look even angrier than his tone. The food is good but I’d prefer to eat at Olive Garden or Red Lobsters a few streets away. Would I return? Only if every other restaurant near by has a wait. This location has NO real wait time. You will be seated in roughly 10 minutes. Have a shot of Patron at the bar and walk right by the restroom and head to your table. The guest at my table… I loved. They convinced me to actually try my wasabi. I usually eat sushi without it. But it actually cleared my sinuses just as she said it would.

Food is good not amazing. Wish they had more hot sauces. Fun to go for Hibachi here. It’s nice for birthdays. Fried rice is very tasty and you can reduce fat by asking for no butter! Service is ok.

My Aunt joined me for lunch at benihana. It was a Thursday around 1pm. We walked it and were greeted by two hostess’. The sushi room(I guess I’ll call it that) was pretty crowded while the bar was empty. We were seated at a hibachi table which already had to women sitting at the other end. A few minutes late our server came and took our drink orders. Then two more woman and a young boy sat down too. After the server settled everyones drink orders, she took our food orders. I ordered the Lunch Duet with Scallops and Shrimp with Chicken Fried Rice instead of Vegetable Fried Rice. My Aunt ordered the Filet Mignon with Chicken Fried Rice as well. They started us off with a small salad with a ginger dressing on it. Then the chef came out and started the onions and vegetables on the flat top. Then the chicken from for the fried rice. He gave everyone a ginger sauce and a mustard sauce. Then finished the rice and gave everyone a bowl of what they ordered. Then it was time to cook the protein. He started the chicken, scallop, and shrimp first. He added the filet on last. He was kind and made silly jokes. He allotted everyone their order, cleaned the flat top, and left. I got two refills on my drink during his cooking. It’s supposed to be Coca-Cola but it didn’t taste particularly like that brand. The server was really nice and cleared our plates after each ‘course.‘ The food was delicious and they cover almost everything in garlic butter and soy sauce. My scallop and shrimp were cooked perfectly as while as my Aunt’s filet mignon which she wanted cooked medium. They offered for us to look at the dessert menu but we were both SO full from all

Not one single thing has changed about this chain or location in Westbury. They say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The menu items are standard with chicken, seafood or beef. The main ingredients are a basic salt, pepper, sesame and garlic butter. If you prefer more flavor I recommend you request extra garlic butter while your chef is preparing your meal. The chefs are ultimately what you pay for, since the food is so basic. No, you won’t come here repeatedly for absolute delicious dishes however entertainingly watching your food being cooked in front of you with your friends or family does create a dining experience to remember.

Benihana’s does Hibachi best, and everyone knows it. From its theatrics to its food, everything is exceptional every step of the way. The spicy hibachi chicken is ACTUALLY spicy. As an individual of Bengali descent, I know what spicy is and get irritated when food that is supposed to be spicy is not. But Benihana’s did spicy right and I loved it. It is pricey, around $ 23 but worth it. Don’t be tricked into getting chicken fried rice(it costs extra). Just get regular fried rice because you get chicken hibachi anyway and save some money.

Sensational. Simply sensational. I’m aware it’s probably fruitless to write a review about a highly regarded chain restaurant, but my experience was just perfection. The service, the food, the ambiance, the entertainment, the setting, the vibe… everything. My only suggestion would be to order the filet mignon over the regular steak. There is a noticeable difference in taste, tenderness and juiciness. Also, I don’t think there’s any point in ordering shrimp as an entrée since you receive it as a free appetizer. Again, just a sensational experience.

We came to Benihana for my niece’s birthday on a Saturday night. She’s your typical indecisive 16 year old girl so we didn’t know where we were going until a few hours before. We called Benihana to make a reservation for that night but the earliest one was for 9pm. We had the hungs so we decided to go a few hours early and try our luck. We lucked out and were seated after only 15 minutes or so. I recently became pescatarian and was worried that I might not find much that I could eat but Benihana had A LOT to offer in terms of seafood. I went with the Surf Side(calamari, colossal shrimp and scallops) with brown rice. It was yummy. To drink I had the Sparkling Red Sangria, also very good. Our waiter was very attentive and our chef was fun. Since it was my niece’s birthday they sang for her and gave us a keepsake family photo which was nice. All in all a good experience.

Difficult to get a Saturday night reservation for 7 girls to celebrate a 13 th birthday… They were able to accommodate us at 8:30… Many tables also celebrating. Mildly entertaining, surprisingly better food than I expected. Pricey, but soup and salad is included… not bad, but I think once was enough.
