I recently visited this shop twice for state inspections. I would like to share my bad experiences.
1) First car:
I just moved to Massachusetts, and this was my first time to do the state inspection here. Previously, I had a parking sticker at the right bottom of the windshield (where the inspection sticker should go). After the inspection, the parking sticker was removed without any notice. When I asked where it went, the person there mentioned that she just threw it away. I asked her if she could give it back to me, and she brought the shredded pieces of parking sticker.
I understand where the inspection sticker should go, but I do not understand how this shop just removed and wasted the sticker, which might be very important to a customer. I was in the shop waiting for their service, so I did not understand why she even did not ask. If she could not replace the sticker, I was able to do that very easily. However, she just shredded the sticker without asking me at all.
Although it was not a pleasant experience, I thought it could be my fault — I had a parking sticker at the place where state inspection sticker should go. So, I brought my second car after a few days.
2) Second car:
I brought the second car immediately after I got plates from RMV, and I asked them state inspection and plate installation. During the inspections, the person found that one of the back light did not work, so I also asked them to replace it (I know it is very easy job that can be done by myself, but I had to pass the inspection).
When I got my car back, I found that the rear plate is held by only three bolts, not four bolts. They broke one of the rusted bolts at the top, and left it there. When I asked them if they should pull out the broken bolt and replace it to the new one, the person said in this way: «The bolt was very old and rusted. It will take some time to pull out the broken bolt, but we are busy. We cannot work with the issue right now. Three bolts will hang the license plate, and a lot of people just feel ok with this». Then, I just asked him to give me a new bolt (I hope I could replace it by myself).
When I spoke with another person, she said that «You just paid $ 6 for the plate installation. Six dollars. You also got a free bolt, which is worth $ 1. This takes some time to pull out the broken bolt, so we cannot spend our time at $ 6».
I went to my car, and realized that they put the state inspection sticker over the sticker I already have. I really do not understand what policy they have for the state inspection sticker. Moreover, I really do not understand how they left the broken bolt in this way. If they rotated the tires and broke one of bolts, would they left the broken bolt in this way? I could not believe that the person mentioned that «you just paid $ 6, so we cannot work more». Wasn’t $ 6 for installing plates appropriately? They broke the bolt, but should I pay more to fix this?
My experience is very limited to the state inspections and plate installation. I do not know how they work with other repairs. However, I really do not want to use this shop again because they could not satisfy me even with the small work.

Professional. Fair pricing, (much cheaper than dealership). Great workmanship. Have gone for a couple of issues with my car. Each time the problem was fixed. Never felt pressured to do any additional work and after shopping around, price quotes were hard to beat. Highly recommended.

Replaced the left axle for my acura and some other periodic maintenance work. Great, fast service.

I can’t believe he used «F» word on me. This is how they treat customers. Bunch of id**ts. This site doesn’t allow to give no stars for rating .
I wanted a quote and he started charging for his analysis. They don’t know basics of car mechanics. This is what happens when you see customers once in a while. They try to rub on you. Why would customers stick?

Awesome Mechanic!
One of the worse things about moving to a new town is finding a mechanic. I drive a 10 year old car and unfortunately car repairs are part of my life (but it beats a car payment!). I was on a road trip and started to smell gas, after getting home to Westborough I looked through car mechanics on Unilocal; Erickson’s looked good so I gave them a try. The service in the office was professional, and the mechanic was great! They found the problem with a little diagnosis and had it fixed quickly and under budget. They seem very competent and I will go there again.

I went to get my brakes fixed at this place and met the owner Jack. He was very nice and courteous and honest. I took my car to 2 different places (read my revies) and replaced the front and back brakes. Front brakes needed the rotors changed with the first repair billed me but didn’t change the rotors! The second repair shop messed up my back brakes and caused damage on the caliber. My dealer tried to rip me off with $ 1000 repairs and I brought my car to Erickson and saved about $ 400.
So for my car is running good and I think Erickson did a honest job at a reasonable price.
