Thought I would try this place and with the good reviews, I didn’t think twice. I just had some nasty nasty salmon sushi, Inedible. It was tough and chewy. I eat a lot of salmon sushi and have never tasted anything like it and hope I never will again.

This is the sushi spot! If you could roll fresh fish, great taste, and a decent ambience all together than you get Mizu. A work colleague recommended it to us, and we’ve been hooked ever since! We did have one issue when a delivery took 1hr 45min, but things happen and it wasn’t the norm. The sushi experience is worth it… melts in your mouth and you don’t want it to end. This is definitely one to hit up!

This place is really quite top drawer for a neighborhood sushi place. Fish is always fresh & everything is always very well prepared. They’d be perfect if not for one issue: literally every time I’ve ordered pick-up(once every other week or so over the past several months) it was not ready by the specified time. Most often it’s a 5 – 10 minute wait, but a few times I’ve been standing there waiting for half an hour. They’re always very polite & apologetic and blame it on how busy they are; if they hired just one more person to work the sushi bar the problem would be greatly reduced if not mitigated entirely.

Took out sashimi & sushi combo on Thursday nite. The sashimi was fresh and sushi was good. Their sushi rice was better than when I tried a while ago. The quality of raw fish is better than other Japanese restaurant in Princeton area.

Great sushi at fair prices and attentive service. Plenty of creative special rolls. I stuck with vegetarian rolls: sweet potato tempura roll and the AAC roll. Both were standard but that’s expected for basic veggie rolls. My partner got the Rockin’ roll and Dynamite roll. Both she was blown away with and is excited to come back. For that we gave high marks.

Great place… absolutely amazing service and food. Got the bento box which was super fresh. The caterpillar roll was also great.

I have to update my review, it’s been quite some time since I have. If I could give Mizu 10⁄5 stars I would! No sushi is better than Mizu sushi! Plainsboro/West Windsor/Princeton JCT/Princeton/Lawrenceville folk and beyond should take the time to stop by for Lunch or dinner. Over the past year since my last review I have been trying more rolls and it’s becoming hard to pick just one thing to call my favorite although my handful pick will always be Uni, Ikura, Scallop, and Salmon Nigirisushi, but it’s really a close call when they have such delicious variety fresh and of excellent quality. I have yet to try their kitchen options, it’s so hard to stray from my favorites, but I will be resolute in making sure I try something different with every order for 2016 ;) the Décor and seating has since changed, they’ve renovated and added a foyer as well as rearranged so it’s no longer awkward if you’re super early and you’re the only table as I tend to do.(I always try to beat the rush anywhere I go) so if you have family visiting from out of state this holiday season, needing their sushi fix, and want to impress them, bring them here. I can’t imagine there being any dissatisfaction, since it’s such a warm, family friendly environment, and plenty of delicious choices weather sushi is your scene or not! Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays :)

You get more than what you pay for at Mizu! It’s a quaint Japanese restaurant run by Chinese people but it is truly authentic Japanese cuisine. The space is small & intimate and the prices are at a good sweet spot. The Treasure Island appetizer with snow crab, cucumber, avocado, and tobiko with chef’s special sauce is a big winner as is the Jazz roll with spicy tuna, avocado, crunch wrapped inside out with spicy salmon, served with mango and raspberry sauce. Even in takeout box it’s so yummy looking! They offer free delivery with no minimum order charge and 10% discount if paying by cash! Service is quick, friendly, and professional. Quality is the best I’ve ever seen!!! I think I’ve found my new favorite sushi spot!

Very disappointing. Came here to have soba because it is in their online menu but they mistook soba for ramen, thinking that«yaki soba» is «soba.» I had to tell them the latter is made of buckwheat. Clearly not a Japanese run Japanese restaurant. I am new to Princeton and have not found any decent Asian restaurants in the area. My husband liked the sushi so I am giving it two instead on one star.

Mizu is by far the best sushi I’ve had in the Princeton area and at a very reasonable price! The fish is always impeccably fresh and the staff is lovely. We’ve made it a weekly event to visit mizu!

Our favorite sushi place… All the yummy creative rolls are my favorite. Udon noodle soup for my husband(but he always steals some of my rolls!)

The space is small & intimate, which I liked. Had the vibe of a sushi joint that would have local regulars. We were the first ones in on a Sunday for the lunch special, so it was nice and quiet. $ 12 Lunch Specials — Pick any 3 rolls, with soup or salad Sushi was high quality, but I wish they had some of the special rolls available on the lunch special! Had the Tuna Dumplings as an appetizer, they were amazing, as everyone says on their reviews! Kani/tempura crunch mixture wrapped in raw tuna. I’d come back here again to try the special rolls.

Reasonably priced dishes. Very clean place and good attitude with the service. I came in around 2:58 and order a little after 3 but they would still serve me lunch specials. The special spicy salmon rolls are ok, think I like the regular Philadelphia roll etc better.

The quality of the food was superb and was brought to our table relatively fast. And the customer service was great as well. Definitely coming back here again!

Whatever you do, don’t prefer the Aji. Spent two days recovering from it. so why did I give it any stars? The chirashi bowl was spectacular.

*UPDATE* Pretty rude that they won’t deliver outside of a 3 mile radius! I find that unfair /hard to believe because West Windsor is a fairly large town, and they’re so limiting with their delivery??? Their prices and sushi quality still deserve 5 stars, but i do want to note that their delivery is limited… Amazing sushi, very fresh and inexpensive, plus they have brown rice sushi! I’ve only had their sushi, not so much their hot kitchen foods. But I can say that their sushi is fresh, there is so little rice on the sushi, which gives the sushi taste what it deserves since it’s not diluted by overwhelming rice. Also, they have Uni(sea urchin) which is hard to find! The service is great, and the ambiance is comfortable. And the lunch special is very worthwhile!

All of the sushi I have basically blurs together because I almost always order the same thing – as was the instance here again. The four stars is SOLELY because these brave soles had an open restaurant during the BLIZZARDOF2015(okay – not really a blizzard, but it stands to mention that the asian bistro nearby was not open). They were quick with a take out order and courteous, plus DANG $ 9 for two rolls, soup, and salad? I’d take that more often around where I live.

I’ve been here a few times and have never been disappointed. The sushi is always fresh and tasty, and there’s a generous piece of fish in every roll. The special rolls are particularly enjoyable and creative, and they always have specials going on to help you explore the menu. I try and eat here as much as I can. They’re the best in the area.

Maybe the lunch specials are a steal, but the dinner here is just average for the price. Came here at night with my family and we ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box, a soup udon, and a spicy maki combination rolls. I had the spicy maki and I’ve got to say that it was a bit too much of the same flavor, just with 3 different kinds of fishes. I liked the udon there. It’s very light and almost more of a Chinese style soup with vegetables and some protein. The shrimp tempura was fried nicely. The chicken bento box was pretty normal, however, the portions are more generous than the ones I’ve seen. The place is pretty minimal on decorations and it’s a smaller restaurant, but there is adequate amount of space in between each table. Our service was just average and did the bare minimum. Ending with that note, don’t forget to save 10% with a Unilocal check-in!

Mizu(Water) is a Chinese owned, Japanese Sushi restaurant on Clarksville Road in West Windsor, NJ. It is in a strip mall with a good Chinese restaurant(Hot Wok), decent Italian(Capuano’s), a deli and an Indian grocery, so there are plenty of choices around you. After 3 lunches and/or early dinners, I can say that while everything I have tried has been pretty good, only one thing has stood out as exceptional. The Tuna Dumplings are a pleasant surprise. The Tuna is actually the outer skin of the dumpling, giving it a pinkish color, while the innards is primarily a sweet tasting crab salad. Very enjoyable, and something I had not tried anywhere else. The rest has been attractively presented, but not consistently excellent. My most recent Bento Box was underwhelming. The Yellowtail was past its freshness date and was fishy tasting. The Shumai was not quite hot enough, and left the impression of having been frozen at some time in its life cycle. The Teryaki Salmon was covered with a heavy amber-like glaze that actually visually magnified the texture of the fillet and was too thick on the tongue. It lay on a bed of raw onion which played strangely in my mouth with the sweet tanginess of the Teryaki Sauce. The California Roll was fine. The app salad was primarily Iceberg with the mandatory orange colored Ginger dressing laying on top. It just did not move me. I did sample my lunch mates’ various dishes, especially the Spicy Tuna, which were pretty good. On past occasions I have been completely satisfied with the offerings here, but because of the consistency issue, 3 Stars is where Mizu belongs for now. Put more effort into the more mass produced items, and the rankings would easily move up.
