It’s nice to have a spot I can go so close to home. Just to get out and enjoy others company and beer and yummy food. my first time to this place but right away I felt like I’ve been coming here for years! It’s just my kind of atmosphere. Gonna be my usual spot from now on.

Went in for a few drinks during Monday Night Football. Bartender was very attentive in making sure my glass wasn’t empty for long. Fun atmosphere and employees seem to have fun too. Wish they would have had some sound for the game but that’s what sports bars are for.

I’ll start by say that the only reason I gave three stars are because of the drinks which I received very quick but the food is another story I order the quesadillas first with beef, there was no taco flavor at all just bland second I order a burger which was the retro do not order it was so bland in all my bill was 32 $ and the only thing that lack flavor was the alcohol even the fires suck so sorry but never again for me

Yesterday, a Friday about 4:30, 3 of us went to the Blvd for an early dinner. Couldn’t find a table, as we are not comfortable in a booth and high-top tables too difficult to climb, as 2 of us are very short. A gentleman, I think the manager, did set us up with a table that was reserved for later. Very nice of him. From there everything goes down hill. L. Ordered the kabobs on a stick, medium rare. It came cooked like charcoal. It was terrible! B. Ordered the tacos. The flavor was good, but the tortilla was so tough she couldn’t even chew it. I ordered the Jerk Shrimp Salad which is a summer special. Reading the menu, it sounded very good with citrus and pineapple. Don’t be shocked. It was horrible! The 4 little, tiny shrimp were so over cooked and tough that even any flavor was cooked out of them. Not sure where the«Jerk» comes in, but this salad was absolutely bland and dry. This salad was $ 12.99 and they open one of those little plastic fruit cups, that you give your kids in their lunch and dumped it on the salad. That was the pineapple. Once we found the waitress who eluded us the entire time,(had to ask someone to fetch her 4’different times) I asked for a side of the dressing. It certainly would have been considerate of this waitress to tell me that there was a 50 cent charge for that extra dressing to make that salad somewhat edible. We were hoping that this would be a fun neighborhood bar/grille where we could enjoy a drink and meal and it was great when we left. Forget it! It was extremely loud with obnoxious patrons, right in our faces, horrid service and even worse food. Tell all your friends that the Boulevard Bar & Grille in Inver Grove Heights is NOT the place to go to enjoy a meal! So disappointed!

Terrible service from the second we stepped in the door to the moment we stepped out 5 minutes later. My friend and I walked in, and had no idea what to do. No signs, no hostess. I’ve never been to a restaurant like this, where no one cares that you walked in the door. We were looking to eat at the restaurant, not the bar, and I made eye contact multiple times with 4 different employees. No one even cared that we stood there unsure of what to do. I even said«sir» and«ma’am» multiple times to two staff at the bar. They looked me in the eyes, and after a few seconds of eye contact turned back around to cleaning something off the floor. Eventually I went up to a waitress across the room and asked if we should seat ourselves, and that we were being completely ignored for several minutes. Didn’t care much, just told us to sit down. We sat down, and we immediately stood back up and decided that Applebee’s doesn’t treat their guests like strangers and went there. Before we walked out the door I told the manager how ridiculous this is, and she assured me that they are trying to find a sign that says«seat yourself» or maybe a hostess one day. Oh, now I feel better.

(Looking for an unbelievable story, keep reading) Food is typical bar food — nothing special by any means. Atmosphere is decent if you’re looking for a place that primarily hosts a middle aged crowd. I found myself eating here a couple times due to the convenient location in reference to my apartment. However, a couple weeks ago I stopped in after just picking a buddy up from the airport and I was turned down at the door by a bouncer who interpreted my Pennsylvania license as invalid(WELCOMETOMINNESOTA!). His reasoning was that the orientation of the license was printed as portrait, or vertically oriented, despite the fact that it was a valid license that CLEARLY stated ‘under 21UNTIL2011.’ In complete disbelief that this was his one and only argument for not letting me in, I asked to see the manager and had a seat at the bar. Regardless of a few waitresses who happened to have an IQ higher than a 12 year old child(or overweight bouncers in their mid 30s), the manager didn’t have the courage to override her gatekeeper, especially since his incredibly rude attitude suggested he was certain that drinking here is illegal unless your home state follows the same formalities as Minnesota. Besides being irritated for the 15 minute walk home, not much was lost, all we really wanted was a pool table for about an hour to catch up. In retrospect, much was gained — I’ll be telling this story for the rest of my life! But I’m often left with this burning question of what’s worse: having the gatekeeper of your establishment as(literally) nothing but a few lbs heavier than the average person to effectively intimidate the riff raff, or having a manager who listens to that same gatekeeper make up rules!

Excellent Happy Hour and specials everyday of the week. Staff is super friendly and knowledgable! I highly recommend the Blvd Bar & Grille for an evening out or even a date night. Come check it out!
