Classic Burgers

Have wanted to try this place for a while. It won’t be long before I return ! I had a buffalo blue cheese burger that was amazing. Very large also. My son got the hot dog and it was also very large and tasty. Lots of French fries and they were very good as well. Kids meal comes with free ice cream too.

Ordered the double cheese burger meal deal. $ 11.44 with tax it’s a really good vuger so worth the money. I ordered well done, it was barely pink. Food enough for me, however I would have loved more crispy rearing on the burger from the flat top. Very juicy and tasty. Fries were delicious and fresh and boy do you get a lot! I’ll be back when I’m in the area again!

Very clean, food is great, and workers are very nice. Recommend trying their homemade ice cream and burgers.

Took my wife and kids (6 and 7) here for lunch one afternoon. I had the Clint Eastwood burger minus the pork bacon with onion rings. The food came out in a timely manner and was nice and hot and tasted great. The staff were all very friendly and patient while my kids ordered and the environment was bright and clean. We all really enjoyed the experience and will be back for sure. My kids rated it as their favorite burger spot.

Holy milkshakes, Batman! Just ate a great chocolate and peppermint shake. Mix any of their homemade flavors. You can’t go wrong. Such a friendly staff. We will return!

Just had the best experience buying a burger in my life. Got to try a few flavors of HOME MADE ice cream, and it was fantastic. Thank you for the great time, Jen, Ryan, and Tim.

Food is awesome… cheeseburger chowder is amazing and the ice cream (cake batter) is absolutely out of this world… I love ice cream cake and this is the only place that I will get a cake from now… use to only eat carvel cakes but after having the cake made here I can never go to anyone but classic burger

I tried Classic Burgers for the first time this past weekend, and I was pretty disappointed.
Perhaps it was because I had already eaten a burger for lunch not knowing that I was going here for dinner. Since I didn’t want a second burger, I went with their pulled pork sandwich. And boy, it was perhaps the worst pulled pork I’ve ever had. It was terribly bland and the bun was this highly glossy, huge monstrosity that I took one bite of before trying to eat just the pork. Being not any better on its own, I threw over ¾ of it out.
Their fries were too bland, too mushy, and just not good. A heavy addition of salt, pepper, and ketchup sort of helped, but they were highly disappointing.
The lone bright spot for me was their milkshakes. They have a good variety and my coffee espresso shake was delicious! My friend ordered a Milky Way shake and he said it was one of the best shakes he had ever drank, so kudos on the milkshakes!
The interior was also pretty cool, with some of the booths looking like the tails of classic hot rods. There was also a beautiful mural painted on one of the walls that I uploaded.
Sadly, the shake and the interior of the restaurant was not enough to make up for the major downer of having a well below-​average sandwich and fries. I’d give them another chance again sometime to try out a burger and maybe their onion rings instead of fries, and of course one of their many milkshakes.

We were in the area for a craft show today, so stopped in to Classic Burgers for a quick lunch. I ordered the «James Dean» burger (came with French fries), my wife had the lobster roll w/​a side of onion rings.
An employee brought out a grease splattered bag to our table after a short wait (why they bring out the food in paper bags instead of on trays for people eating inside, I’m not sure? Everyone’s food came to the table in a paper bag). I was underwhelmed by the burger, wasn’t the worst burger I’ve ever had, but it was far from the best. Just average. The natural-​cut French fries, on the other hand, were very good, tasty.
My wife thought her lobster roll and onion rings were just OK, nothing really special.
Loved the décor of Classic Burger and the theme. The employees working there are super-​friendly, a girl brought around samples of the ice cream (which I did not try because she came to our table right after we had just received our food).
A lot of 4 and 5 Star reviews here on Unilocal for Classic Burgers, but I’m just not seeing it.

Love coming to Classic Burger, especially with the kids! They love finding a «new seat» in an old Coke machine or a classic car. The food is always so delicious and the fries are a little gift from heaven! The ice cream is also super yummy. They have the ice cream cakes with the chocolate crunches in the middle; always a huge hit for birthday parties in our family.

Came upon this place, looking for a better deal than what six flags new England was offering. Very cool and low Key place. Awesome looking décor, very fun sop hop nostalgia and burgers! Yum!
Very nice crew there as well. I appreciate the aspirant we got upon purchasing an online deal that didn’t work out.
As for food, the burgers are yummy, not spectacular or anything, but definitely better than your average bear. I like the specials they offer and the grows are enormous! A small is the equivalent of a large from Wendy’s.
BTW, if you’re going there anyway, get some ice cream. It’s pretty awesome!

I am a burger and fries kind of gal and this place is superb! The burger, itself is juicy and well cooked, the buns they use are soft and delish! The speciality burgers are so good, I totally recommend «the duke» it’s topped with their homemade chili, so so good! Their fries are fresh cut and very tasty.
Now, the ice cream is homemade and sooooo creamy and a perfect end (if you can fit it!)
Very fairly priced! Great atmosphere, definitely a great place for the family!

Tried this place because of the hype and the comparisons to Five Guys. Meat was flavorful, fries were bland. Décor was cheesy, not 50’s diner done right. I can see the novelty wearing off.
Biggest complaint is the service. Came in at 9 on a Saturday (they close at 10). It was nearly empty and the staff was upset (read: eye rolling and deep sighing) that they weren’t going to get to close early or something. Got the cold shoulder after we ordered. Very awkward. Won’t be coming back.

My wife and I went there yesterday 4÷24÷15 for the first time with another couple who had been previously. I thought the cheeseburgers and fries were pretty solid. The ice cream is absolutely delicious! Everything was reasonably priced and very family friendly.
Only odd thing I noticed was that all the decorations in the seating area are coca cola themed yet they serve Pepsi products. If that’s my only complaint, I’d say they’re doing pretty good.

I just happened to stumble upon this place today, and I’m so glad I did! What a nice little burger joint. We were greeted by a sweet girl at the counter when we walked in. She kindly explained the menu to us, made some recommendations, and took our order. We sat in one of the booths that actually had an old fashioned car as the seat (so cool). Our order came up quickly, and after the first bite we were hooked. The burgers are obviously very fresh, and so juicy! My burger had their homemade chili on it, which was also delicious. Their hand cut fries were fresh and hot, although I would have preferred mine to be a little crispier. The restaurant itself was very clean, spacious, and decorated with that «classic» 50’s feel. I’m sure I’ll be coming back!

For me, this place is the real deal and has earned every darned star I’m giving it. Real handmade burgers, real homemade ice cream, hand-​cut fries… I could go on and on. Don’t get me started on the super cute retro décor. We got a chance to speak to the owner while enjoying our delicious food, and it was clear that he made some serious efforts in acquiring some bits of Americana to furnish this place. If you haven’t at least looked in the window of this place, I recommend that you do. The décor is delightful.
The people — so super friendly — the owner and everybody who worked there at the time were all previously Five Guys employees. It’s clear that they know what they’re doing, as evidenced by the below.
The food — unbelievable. This had to have been one of the first times I had a veggie burger at a restaurant that was clearly fresh and handmade, and never frozen. I personally prefer black bean burgers, and this is exactly what this was, beautifully held together, with a lovely mix of veggies strewn throughout the patty. The add-​ons were all placed perfectly within the burger to give the whole thing a wonderful flavor profile. My burger, and the burgers of my company, were not at all greasy. We were just so pleased. The fries are not overwhelming and are delicious, and again, hand-​cut and not greasy at all. This is my idea of what a meal should be, real, flavorful, and at least moderately healthy.
The ice cream — OH YEAH! It’s homemade and they offer sundaes and the whole nine. We got a chocolate chip cookie dough sundae which was, like everything else at Classic Burgers, absolutely delightful. Have I said «delightful» enough times for you? This place made Americana super palatable for a foreigner. Honestly, if I had kids, this would be the kind of place I would take them at least once a month. It’s everything you could possibly want to expose your kids to — great food, great people, and a great atmosphere. I don’t live in Massachusetts, but you’d better believe the next time I’m up there, I will be pushing to come back here. Please, please patronize this place — you will quickly realize you are in a place where you are appreciated and respected as a customer. If you’re looking for the real deal, do not pass up on Classic Burgers.

Finally got the chanch to check out Classic Burgers in West Springfield Ma.
The menu was blessedly simple with all the classic toppings. While ordering a plain hot dog one of the guys handed me a spoon full of their fall pumpkin ice cream.
I knew I was in trouble immediately. So creamy and not overly sweet. Some of the best local ice cream I’ve had. Think Harrell’s but 30 minuits closer. To be honest it might have out classed Harrell’s.
I checked out the rest of the selection and learned they make it in house. I got a large cookie dough to go.
This place will get you in and out in 20 and give you ice cream to go.
Go get some. Classic Burgers is doing it right.

Very Good Food, Nice Portions and a Great Value!!!
I went here for the first time tonight with my mother and I have to say we will both be back! The burgers and fries were very good. I also like that you can add a variety of toppings at no extra cost. I eat more fast food than I should and was very impressed with the portion size given the price. My cheeseburger with fried onions, lettuce & tomato, along with nice portion fries and soda only cost $ 7.99 for the meal!!! and it was WAY BETTER than any of the chain type fast food place ‘meal deals’ for pretty much the same price! When you walk in the place is decorated in 50’s era motif. You order at the register and then they call out your number — most of the staff members were bringing the food right to the table once they saw you get up to get your food. All in all I thought it was a good value and very tasty too! — I recommend trying it.

To me this place is Five Guys done better. I never understood the hype with that place, just because you have plentiful and fresh ingredients, doesn’t mean the meat is quality or that the food isn’t dripping with grease. Before this place I felt I had to go to Plan B or Max Burger if I wanted a good burger away from home.
When we saw this place under construction I was excited but reserved because I was expecting Five Guys or less for quality. So far I’ve been there twice, once for their lunch rush and then tonight we went before closing. Without further ado onto the food.
Food: I was super impressed with both the burgers and their french fries. The fries are hand cut every day and they almost taste as good cold as they do piping hot (my wife ate all of my damn leftovers… that is how you know its good). The meat is grass fed and I thought cooked really well (still a little pink in the center). I also really like their variety of ingredients. They have sauteed jalapenos, onions, mushrooms, bacon ($ 1 add, only topping that costs extra), and all of your other standard fare toppings. You can get it without the bun or on lettuce, but I’m no damn hippy so I eat that shit on a bun. I also tried their chili cheese fries, which were pretty damn good (4 stars) not the best I’ve ever had but it exceeded my expectations and this was my second visit so that is no small feat. They have a pretty good selection of ice cream, whether it be a sundae or a milkshake (yet to try dessert).
Service/​Ambiance: The place is outstanding on the inside, awesome 50’s style decorating from the car ends and coca cola machines that were converted to seats, the schoolhouse lighting, and the diamond decking that was used underneath the chair rail… they did a damn good job. Not to mention that we heard Frank Sinatra, Beach Boys, Elvis, and other awesome bands from the 50’s/60’s. Their service is awesome we ordered one burger and the girl at the counter asked if we wanted our burger cut in half (hell yes I do, so kind of you to offer). Our chili cheese fry was huge btw because they didn’t want to waste any the fries that were in the basket (i’m assuming they aren’t always this huge). Bottom line the prices are up there with Five Guys, but the quality is far above. I don’t have kids, but you can certainly bring your children here, super great place for a family outing.
Bottom Line: Check this place out, it’s super tasty, affordable, fun, and an overall very satisfying experience.
