I couldn’t be happier with this company. They are great and don’t try to sell you something you don’t need. They even look for a cheaper way to complete what I was doing.

My wife and I spent $ 4,000 to replace the carpet in our two story home. Capitol flooring has several carpet options and colors two choose from. We picked our carpet and it was shipped to the store with one week, the install date was set a week later. I am very happy with the service I received and the follow up phone calls. The installers were great and did a fantastic job on the home. I liked their prices and would recommend them highly.

I would highly recommend Capital Flooring to friends and family. We had hardwood floors installed in our kitchen, dining room, entry hall, pantry, and several closets. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Phone calls weren’t always returned timely, but they are a very busy family business, so I would just call again. They installed the flooring when scheduled and it is beautiful. They were also great about offering referrals. They referred us to a tile guy, the granite fabricator, and painter. We are very happy with everyone they referred us to.

We decided to stop in here as my husband works right around the corner… The showroom is very deceiving from the outside. They have a huge showroom with an amazing selection.
We were searching for carpet with no idea of what we were doing. With the help of the showroom staff we were able to narrow it down to a couple of choices based on our lifestyle. They were kind enough to order us larger samples than what they show in the showroom so we could make a final decision. Within a week or so of visiting the showroom we had made a decision and had Shannon come and measure. We got the estimate back within a couple days and I must say it was competitive with the other 3 bids.
We decided to use Capital Flooring as they threw in a couple of extra things at no charge that the other companies did not. They were very accomodating with our schedule as my husband works at night so we didn’t want them to start super early in the AM. They offered to start later in the morning and work a little later into the evening. Rudy and his guys did an amazing job and we couldn’t be happier with our new carpet.
I would strongly recommend reading between the lines of these Unilocal reviews and review the filtered ones as well. We did and couldn’t be more pleased.

I am so glad I took a chance on this place even after reading all the negative reviews. My husband and I were looking for laminate flooring for our downstairs and found such a huge selection here. Shannon was a huge help to us from beginning to end. She was attentive while we were in the store and, while not always available to take our calls, she did call us back in a timely manner.
We had Shannon’s husband come out and give an estimate for installation and we received our quote the very next day. We ended up going with his team and are thrilled with the results. They were not only fast, but they were friendly and did an excellent job. If I had to have one complaint it would be that while they were fast with installation they did need one extra day to finish up, but I am still very happy with the work they did!
Despite the negative press this store has received I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for new flooring. They are a family owned and operated store that deserves to be around for years to come.

Don’t waste your time with these slackers! Maybe half a star (and that’s being generous only because of the wide product selections). Highly recommend other businesses. Looks like nothing has changed since comments from 2010. Horrible customer service! By far the worst I’ve encountered. Had to look for someone to assist me after walking around the showroom for almost 45 min. Requested a consultation/​quote for bathroom room tile work. The only positive was R***** showing up on time to the property to take measurements. I was told that I’d receive my quote via email by the end of that same day (Wedneaday afternoon). During this time my family decided that we would just tile the entire house. Planned to follow up with that request after receiving the quote. Two days pass, still no response. I called for an update — was told that my portfolio was in hand and unfinished. I was then informed that I would receive my quote by the end of that day (Saturday) or Monday morning. Still no quote. I call again Monday afternoon being told that I’d have my estimate by the end of the day. You guessed it — same result. I call again Tuesday and was now PROMISED to receive my quote by the end of that day. No call or email. Either it takes them weeks to add and multiply rates by sq ft (which is simple math!) or they are just stupid. It has now been a week and still no response. No initiative on their end. And no follow ups after 3 reminders. Like I said, don’t waste your time. It’s great that they have a showroom with great material. But it’s ALL SHOW, NO GO. THEY DON’T, I repeat DON’T WANT YOUR BUSINESS!

I spent 30 minutes there on Thursday, because I’m getting ready for a Kitchen and bathroom remodel. No one greeted me or offered assistance even though someone looked directly at me from behind a counter. However, they did assist someone who came in 10 minutes after me. Apparently they do not want my business. There website is definitely better organized then their «Showroom» and gives one the impression that if you visit their physical location you will visit a nice welcoming place — that couldn’t be further from the truth. The facility is a disorganized mess and customer service is non-​existent.

I was a little wary about buying from them after reading some of the reviews here about the poor communication. I mentioned my concerns early and they were great about keeping in constant contact throughout the installation process.
Floor looks great. Good price. Quality professionals.

I went into the store one evening after work. I was wanting to tile our entire home. The lady behind the counter after looking me up and down quickly informed me their tile was very expensive and not like you’d find at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I turned on my heels and walked out. OK, I may not be the best looking or best dressed in the valley, but I don’t look like a vagrant either. No thanks, I’ll take my business elsewhere (which I did). Work is all done now. Love it; wish I’d done it years ago.

Capital Flooring and Design installed hardwood flooring in our primary hallway and study, and carpet in our living room and four bedrooms. Their procedure required removal of the old flooring and installation of new plywood underlayment for the wood flooring. Overall their carpet and hardwood installation crews each did a superb job. Their approach was very professional, they were efficiently fast, and the end-​result was of high quality. During installation of the hardwood floor, it became apparent that the manufacturer’s showroom sample was not representative of their final product. In fact, it was not acceptable to us. Vicky and Shannon, family owners of the store, put in considerable effort to make it right and arranged installation of a new floor material from a different manufacturer. We are extremely pleased with the end result. Our lesson learned is that once a manufacturer’s sample is selected, one needs to view actual photographs of a room installation with the material over a large area, either via the Internet or from some other publication. While we had a short-​term problem, Capital Flooring prevented us from a long-​term one, and we ended up with a dream floor! Overall, we were very pleased with their customer service and would highly recommend them.

I would definitely review your options before using them. They are disorganized and slow to respond. They did an adequate job with my flooring, but after I used another company to do the rest of my house, I realized the MANY ways in which they missed the mark.
It’s too bad, they are nice people, but perhaps too busy for their own good.

I have used Capitol Flooring twice for hardwood floor installs in two separate houses and I am consistently pleased. Shannon and Thomas are both wonderful and will bend over backwards to make sure you’re happy with your product and the installation. Their installations are REALLY FAST — we got our entire house done (hardwood glued) in 2 days and some change. I love them and refer them to everyone who needs flooring. You won’t be disappointed.

We decided to turn over half of our house into hard flooring. We usually want to support local small business, and that lead us to Capitol Flooring right down the street. Their store on the corner looks like an ordinary warehouse from the outside and we have been driving past it for years. We were totally shocked when we actually went inside. The place is huge and the flooring options were almost totally overwhelming. It took us a long time to decide on the flooring we wanted. The process wasn’t without issues though, but most of the issues were the fault of the vendor sending them the flooring, which wasn’t Capitol’s fault. Once the flooring process began, it was great. The guys were very nice and easy going and the entire project only took 2 days. We went with a dark wood product called Plank. It’s a waterproof hard vinyl surface that looks better than laminate. We have a whole new house. We really felt like this company went the extra mile to help us feel better about issues that were out of their control. Honestly, we are happy customers. Todd, Ricky and Carlos were really nice guys and Shannon was extremely knowledgable and accommodating.

This is my opinon… DO NOT USE THEM!!!

If there was a negative star rating they would have gotten it. by the way, they strung us along for 6 months…

I worked with Shannon and Thomas and their customer service was excellent. They were very patient in helping me find the right products to fit my econo budget. I purchased wood flooring, tile and carpet. I found their pricing very competitive. I compared their carpet pricing to Lowe’s and I compared their flooring prices to 3 – 4 other sources. For the carpet, their lead time was much shorter than Lowe’s. Wood flooring lead times varied based on the manufacturer. Some of the price quotes they sent were not accurate but they worked with me to get them corrected. They spent a lot of time educating me about the different types of flooring so that I could choose a quality product within budget.

I never had any issue with their customer service, but I just live a few minutes from them so just went there. But what gives them the 5 star rating is the guys who came and installed my flooring. Excellent workmanship and fast! And their main installer (forgive me) has only one hand/​arm that operates and the fact that he and his co-​worker installed my floors 3 times faster than the 1^st guy I hired out of the penny saver is amazing to me. Anyway that is why I give them 5 stars.

They were actually very helpful when we were picking out our laminate, and the order arrived fairly quickly and they did give us a call to let us know that it had arrived.
We had an issue with one box which was marked correctly by the vendor but contained the incorrect laminate. They took it back and told us they could get us a replacement in about a week. Well a few weeks and many unreturned calls later I did end up getting the replacement box. My only gripe is that they never returned my calls and I had to stay on them constantly.
Also, their prices are high compared to others, especially online stores. I didn’t do my due diligence and shop around enough, so I ended up paying too much. So make sure you shop around and don’t make the mistake i did. I asked if they could do something about it, and they said to send an email with a link to the webpage with the much cheaper price and they would try to do something, but I never heard a word back.
They have a 25% restocking fee on returns, so be aware of that.
CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Capitol Flooring recently called me and threatened to sue me for telling what happened when I did business with them. Guess what, I won’t be bullied. Here’s what happened when I did business with them:
First I received a quote from Lowe’s (right down the street) for $ 18k for the job. I went to Capitol Flooring simply looking around and the owner was very knowledgeable of flooring and friendly in his approach. We received a quote from them for $ 25k for the entire job. I figured it was more money, however we wanted to support a smaller business; plus typically small businesses have much better customer service.
That’s where the nightmare began. It’s next to impossible to get a call back from this store unless you are dealing with the owner. The rest of the staff has no clue about customer service.
Next, we thought we were quoted for a FINISHED job, only to find out in their option, painting the baseboards or touching up where the baseboards were stripped from the wall is not a part of a FINISHED product. This is not information we were told BEFORE signing the contract. Once we complained enough they did agree to do light touch up work, however majority of the baseboards in my brand new home still need repainting. Nice gesture, but shouldn’t have had to pull teeth to get it.
Finally the last straw was the phone call I received today threatening to sue me for telling the truth about their service and the baseboard issue. I’ve heard a saying, once is an accident, twice could be a mistake, but three times is a trend. I encourage everybody to research this business on
; you’ll find 3 complaints about customer service, lack of communication, etc.
Numbers don’t lie. It wouldn’t be said three times by 3 different people unless there was some truth to it. Ownership can call all customers who complain with lawsuit threats or can deal with the facts and teach the staff a little thing about customer service. Considering their actions today, i’m pretty sure I know which route they’ll choose to go. Customers Beware.

Let me just say that we are very happy with the flooring they did for us. Overall, it’s good quality workmanship.
However, their rating is severely impacted by their stunning lack of customer service. As the other rater said, their customer service is terrible. You can bet real money that if they promise a call-​back, you absolutely will not get one. It’s disappointing that having spent almost $ 10,000 there, they cannot find 5 minutes in their day to return a call when they say they will.
As long as you stay on their a** and call THEM constantly, they’re an OK place to do business with, and again, their quality is good. But who wants to be the one constantly following up? Isn’t that THEIR job?

From 1 star to 2. Since my initial review, and about 30 phone calls, they finally filled our original order.
That said, the fact that they eventually were able to do in six months what they promised to do in two does not warrant more than two stars. Further, they have terrible customer service. If you promise to call a customer back, call them back. If you know you won’t have time for a return phone call, don’t promise that you’ll call then not call. It’s pretty simple.
