Beantown Physio specializes in rehab for orthopedic/​sports related injuries. Our focus is on post operative and non-​operative treatment for upper and lower extremity diagnoses, as well as disorders of the spine. We are an exercise based practice, promoting healthy, active lifestyles.

History

Established in 2006.

Paul M. Ghostlaw, PT graduated from Ithaca College in 1990. After becoming board certified in New York, he moved to Boston and has since focused his entire career in orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapy.

In 2001, Paul started Beantown Physio, Inc. in Brookline. In 2006 the West Roxbury location was opened.

Paul is originally from Fort Covington, New York which is located minutes from the St. Lawrence River and approximately seventy miles southwest of Montréal.

Paul’s clinical interests are the rehabilitation and management of post surgical and non surgical spine, knee, shoulder, ankle and hip dysfunction. Having endured multiple open knee operations himself, he understands what patients are coping with as they attempt to rehabilitate a dysfunctional joint.

Meet the Manager

Jason M.

Manager

Jason McHugh grew up in NH, attended Northeastern University, was awarded his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2008, and also received his Bachelors in Rehabilitation Science degree. In 2012, Jason was certified as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), which recognizes a physical therapist with advanced clinical knowledge, experience and skills in the clinical area of orthopaedics.

Jason is also an active member the APTA of MA shoulder special interest group (SIG) as well as the Manual Therapy SIG. He specializes in manual therapy, strengthening and conditioning, and neurodevelopment in the treatment of moderate to severe musculoskeletal disabilities in all age ranges.

Outside of work Jason enjoys cross training, running road races, cycling and spending time with family in North Conway, Ogunquit, and the Cape. Jason currently resides with his wife in Sudbury, MA.
