B Antone’s Salon&Spa

I was only there to get my nails done so I cannot speak to the hair salon portion EXCEPT the owner (and the nail person, Edith) spent quite a bit of time while I was there complaining about the owner’s husband (loudly and rudely). Sigh
As far as the nails… I came in for a full set, it took nearly 2 hours to get out of there (with wet polish). The «free» nail art isn’t free if she charges $ 10 more for her nails than everyone else. This is especially true when I asked for daisies and got something… else. Who knows what it was supposed to be. Also, she didn’t let me pick my own color and seemed irritated that I would want to.
Finally, I was incredibly insulted when Edith started telling me how AWFUL it was to be fat and how «there is no better feeling than being thin.» (Yes, that’s an actual quote). This is all while I, who is obviously overweight, was stuck sitting there listening to her. On top of that, when I mentioned how long it was taking to finish my nails, she told me it was because my fingers are twisted and it was hard to make the nails straight. This has never been an issue anywhere else so… I’m thinking it wasn’t my fingers.
The nails themselves were not bad but I’d rather spend 30 minutes in a chair and get good nails than spend 2 hours listening to awful people say awful things to get those same nails.
ETA: Since writing this review and leaving it on Unilocal and FB I have received messages from Edith arguing about my review and turning me in to Facebook for «harassment» based solely upon this review. So, be careful if you want to review her, you may be her next target.

Amazing service, very friendly, great atmosphere! Edith does superb work. I had the best experience I’ve had in years.

Brenda has been doing my hair for 20 years and she does a wonderful job. She has always been willing to fit me in her schedule when I call at the last minute. She takes the time to get to know you and makes you feel special.
