Amazing maker. Well-​respected, extremely friendly and a joy to interact with. I highly recommend his violas, and have heard his violins are fantastic too. I live in California, as far away as can be from his shop but whenever a friend asks for a recommendation the only one I have is a Tambovsky instrument.
Finding a viola is tricky. Many violin makers with outstanding instruments make pretty average violas, his are fantastic.
