My friend ended up dragging me here knowing I’ve never had sushi. I ended up asking the server what she would recommend and she nailed it! She brought me a Shrimp Tempura roll which was amazing! I told her to surprise me with the soup and I was not disappointed at all! I ended up with their Hot & Sour soup which was just as good. The service was great along with their food! They made my first sushi experience excellent and I can’t wait to go back!

Easily one of the best Asian restaurants in town. Most ethnic restaurants in West Palm tend to lack originality, authenticity, and overall flavor in my opinion. This is not one of those places. Dishes are very well prepared and absolutely delicious. Reasonably priced as well.

The manager Rob is the greatest. Loves his guest and loves what he does. He’s great for recommendations and makes everyone feel welcome. Not to mention the sushi is beyond fresh. Homey atmosphere and friendly service!

Eat here at your own risk!!! Yes, I really mean it. We ordered our food. As I ate mine, I saw what I thought was a hair. It was not. It was much worse. I pulled out an inch and a half crinkly very thin wire! I could not possibly think what it was from. I called the waiter and gave it to him. I asked why is this in my food and where did it come from? He looked at the wire in his hand and promptly dropped it on the floor. He had no idea what it was and called the manager. She came over and asked what was the problem. I told her what I found and she knew immediately what it was with out seeing the actual wire. She explained that it was part of the steel wool scouring pads they use to clean the woks. They are all cleaned by hand. I was amazed that she knew what it was from my description. But this tells me that it also is a very common occurrence in their restaurant!!! What if smaller strands broke off? I would never see them? Needless to say, I did not finish my meal. Although the manager did remove my meal from the bill, I would never go back. If this is such a common occurrence, I would fear for my health! Eat there at your own risk!!!

Absolutely exceptional! Great atmosphere, great food, great service! In Jupiter, FL for the weekend and some friends suggested this place. First off, every Saturday they have all day happy hour! For my wife, my 2 kids and I we paid $ 60. Not sure the last time that happened at a sushi restaurant. All of the rolls we got were excellent. 2 out of the 3 were on the happy hour menu that I ordered, spicy tuna(added tuna on top for $ 2 more) Florida roll were regular sized and delicious! I also had the rainbow roll and it was great! My friend ordered Salmon teriyaki and she said it was the best she’s ever had. 5 stars for this restaurant and a definite when we return to this area!

Guest was visiting from out of town. I am from Boca, sorry. The Sushi Yama in Boca is my favorite. This one I hope is not affiliated to the Boca one. The service staff was ok, not like Boca. The food was not very tasty nor was the presentation up to par. So disappointed.

My wife and I just made a visit for the first time tonight. I CANNOT say enough about this place. The food was great, the selection outstanding, the fish was very fresh, and most of all, the chefs have great personality. This is now our absolute go to sushi restaurant. If you’re not sure where to go, take this review as a sign… GOTOSUSHIYAMA!

One of my favorite Thai places in West Palm Beach so far. Great food, service and prices. My favorite foods Beef Negimaki, shrimp pad thai, and stir-fry Sweet and Sour-with rice, pineapple and cashews.

Good sushi but I dislike every time I come for happy hour I have to ask for the menu. And I mean every single time. If there’s a party of 7 they will give you maybe 2 happy hour menus.

I only give this place a 3 because I ordered some pretty disappointing things. The vegetable soup was a total mistake — I wanted to compare their soup to Kabuki and I was very disappointed. The wahoo sushi was great. Drinks were very cheap which was a plus. The next two rolls I had were fair. Its too bad I think theres a lot of better stuff on the menu but what I had pretty much well… sucked!

Finally made it to the third and most recently opened Sushi Yama. In the heart of Clematis St with a more urban/hip feel than the other two places. Like the other two Yamas, tastefully designed and decorated. Loved the fact that they have a separate bar(alcohol) with Robert behind it. Did a fabulous job with my LIIT and our cold sake selection. Was with Asian friends so let them do the selecting and glad that they did. Everything from fried chicken livers, to beef Carpaccio, to grilled calamari to a beef maki roll to hamachi jawbone. Certainly took me out of my comfort zone and I am so thankful they did. Everything was superbly prepared and absolutely delicious. I kind of felt like I was sitting at one of those Anthony Bourdain feasts! Got to meet one of the managers(Kon?) who kept checking with us to make certain everything was up to expectations. No worries Kon.

I came here with friends for dinner and I ordered the rainbow roll, my friends ordered; crispy salmon roll, and shrimp tempura roll. Everyone loved their rolls. Service was quick and staff was friendly. Outside seating is ideal here because why not? The weather is perfect for outdoor seating. I’d highly recommend coming here for sushi.

We came here for happy hour… it was not that happy. I’m pretty sure I could’ve made better sushi. I actually have… and I don’t even know how to make sushi. The fish was not fresh, the spicy mayo and seaweed was strange. The beer was good though, and only $ 3. Probably never coming back here.

I was wondering how three sushi places(The others are Kabuki and Palm Sugar, kinda counts?) can exist on the same block. The answer is in the portions. There’s nothing spectacular about the sushi here. The sushi tastes better at Kabuki. However, for about the same price you can get bigger rolls at Sushi Yama. If you’re interested in really tasty sushi and you think you know sushi, go to Kabuki. If you want OK sushi, and care more about stretching your dollar satisfying that raw fish habit come here.

Started off with happy pancake appetizer. Very disappointed! Bean sprouts are not fresh and discolored. The crêpe is too thick and extremely hard. I also tried my friend’s eggplant. It’s very oily and the sauce is too sweet without any other flavors. As for the main dish, the pad thai is very bland. The noodles are cooked too long so it’s all chopped up. The sauce is not authentic; and it cannot be identified as pad thai, more so a lo mein with added sugar or corn syrup. My friend had sashimi platter dish. Sad to say that she said it is not fresh. And there is one kind of fish that is still frozen in the core. There are better pad thai and better sushi at Palm Sugar and Kabuki on the same block. I will not return.

Stopped in while having a training in the city and had lunch with a friend. The Spicy Tuna roll was probably the first ‘spicy’ tuna roll I’ve had. Typically spicy tuna isn’t spicy enough so I was pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and the miso soup was served hot and right on time. Would recommend sitting outside, people watching and enjoying sushi.
