Rayside Truck & Trailer

After a few hiccups with the truck bed cover I got the owner himself reached out and made sure things were made right. After seeing how hard they worked to make sure that my husband and I were happy I would definitely use them again.

We were traveling to Key West with our boat and blew both tires on the trailer. I called all around a town that I was not familiar with and couldn’t find an open tire shop until I found Rayside.
However, it was 20 minutes before they were closing. I asked if they would stay open if we could get there right before they closed. They graciously agreed to. We got there right at closing and we had two new tires and rims and were out the door in 20 minutes.
I expected the cost to be really high because it was a truck and trailer shop and I’ve never purchased at anything but a big chain. The price was very reasonable and actually less than what I found on-​line.

We had our bed liner done here, and it was a pretty good experience. However, when it was done, we were told that an old tailgate lock on our truck (a 1997, we didn’t have original key for) would have to be cut off. I agreed, cut it off, do the job. No worries.
Well, to our surprise 2 months later, we go to remove the tailgate and there’s a lock on it. So I called rayside and asked if they’d be able to remove it. Sure, bring it in! They said.
Now, having spoken to a buddy who works in a shop, I knew it was as easy as snipping it off (or unlocking it, since rayside put it on). But rayside told me it would take 15 minutes and «special tools» and tried to charge me $ 23. $ 23 to cut off a lock THEY put on. Come on guys. And 15 minutes? Really? What am I being charged for, driving the truck back to the shop? No way.
I told them no thanks, I’d have my buddy do it for a six pack.
We won’t be back to rayside. If they’d jack up the price on a tiny item like this, for an existing customer who’s already spent a pretty penny with them, I’d imagine they’re up charging on other things as well.
