Makeb’s

I’ve been meaning to write this review for months — I’ve never been into Makeb’s but I owe them a big thank you! My 94-​year old, car-​less grandma was sad because she couldn’t take a bus anywhere that made good chicken soup like the New York delis she remembers. I called Makebs and sent her a soup delivery, and she was over the moon about it! The soup was exactly what she needed — it was delicious and the staff at Makeb’s was friendly and efficient in helping me arrange a takeout delivery from Massachusetts (where I am.) I sent her several bowls and she ate one and froze the others so she can have the happiness of having them several more times, after which she plans to place an order of her own so she’ll never be without chicken soup again :)
I’ll definitely be visiting you in person the next time I’m visiting her in FL!

Great big omelette and fresh squeezed OJ!!! Wish they would do more eco friendly all this styrofoam is unnecessary!!!

what happened to this place. it used to be so good and my last 2 visits not so much not what it used to be
however the staff is friendly and were quick to make my order right

Worst place ever. First time visiting and the manager did not have a command of the English language. She gave me the wrong order and instead of correcting the order, she denied me service blaming me for the misunderstanding.

This place has declined steadily over the past year, I’m done with them. The tables are not clean, the staff don’t know their own menu, English is barely spoken, and with 3 people in the place and 7 teen age staff, my $ 11 omelet took 15 minutes. The low point of my morning. Oh and there is no corporate contact info or, apparently, a management structure. No mas, pandejos.

I love this place! Great NY style bagels and so good. Order the omelette bfast! $ 7 amd you’ll be full for HOURS!

A big plus… the bagels are much better than the other local bagel joint, Einsteins. The cashiers are friendly BUT verbally double check your order before you pay. Also — the people prepping the order are just as friendly and attentive.
Only 4 stars as the «order & pick-​up» area DO NOT FLOW. At first glance, it appears that it should flow but they need to figure a way to make it work like any other «order & pick-​up» place. Some/​most people are awkwardly waiting for their order … or do not know where the line begins. or where the line ends.
But overall good BAGEL experience.

Terrible. Not only was our order wrong… TWICE in the same visit, but the quality was nonexistent. It is run by a few teenagers who couldn’t care less. Took forever for two bagel sandwiches that were both incorrect. The «Frappuccino» was not only an infringement on a trademarked beverage, but it was so foul I was only able to tolerate three sips. Imagine a coffee flavored syrup snowcone. That’s what it was. It was very obvious there was no real coffee in it. You have to be a special kind of stupid to make a bagel sandwich and coffee a disaster. We will never be back.

Great value. Good food. I had an Egg, Taylor’s pork roll (ham) and cheese. Yes, the actually cook a real egg to order. My only complaint is the sliced cheese. if I had known I would have asked for cheddar or some other non-​fake cheese. Otherwise, I will defiantly go back.

Excellent food… quick, and very reasonable… staff is super nice too!

Came here today at 3:30 bought a multi grain bagel with of tuna. The bagel was inedible was really harder then a rock if that’s possible. The tuna was so so. The lettuce and tomatoes totally rancid .
:(had to throw it out.

I absolutely love this place. I always have the chicken salad sandwich on a toasted everything bagel and the bagels are so good! One day I’ll try something different, but for now I’m stuck on this sandwich.

This place is pretty good if you’re looking for a quick bite for an affordable price. We have two coffees, two sausage, egg & cheese croissants and the chicken Caesar salad for $ 20 which is super cheap! The salad was huge! Enough to share or as a light lunch. If I lived closer I would come here more often!

Came here with my family for breakfast and had a buy one get one item free (equal or lesser value). They do NOT honor their coupons here. When I brought up the issue with the OWNER, he literally said, «oh well maybe next time» rather than honor their own offer. To boot, our sandwiches were sloppily put together and they don’t taste nearly as good as others. You’re better off going somewhere else.

If you are in love with the bagel place that has the initials BWB, you need to wake up and realize that they are not nearly as good as a true bagel place. I was apprehensive about trying it because of where they were located. I was thinking, what can anyone in that neighborhood know about good bagels. Well, they do. The place is clean and the take sanitation seriously. They wear thick blue gloves and change them often. Its very friendly and relax. They have couches with a tv, and you can control what to watch with a remote. The prices are affordable. They even have a coffee station with a dozen syrups you can add for free. Their bagels taste as they should. Crisp exterior with a warm soft and airy interior. And they have good, real good, bialys. Plenty of them too. That other place… they make about 12 and run out by 830. Consistently.

The bagels are very flavorful and never disappoint. I stop in for a couple dozen every month before team meetings and everyone always raves how good they are.
I call in and have sliced before I arrive and I’m in and out and on my way.

I went to get a take out order due to my fiancé being sick at home. I ordered two things: bagel w/​cream cheese and an egg and sausage bagel. When my order came up, there was only one bagel in the bag. They put the second bagel on the platter and just walked away — didn’t call a name — I didn’t even know the bagel was my second bagel. So I stood there waiting and got no response from the clerks behind the counter. I have been to the store on Olive and liked that just fine, but I will never be going back to this location again. Sad given that the bagel was good.

Literally AMAZING! I get breakfast here before work all the time, the iced coffee is delicious and the breakfast sandwiches are big and filling! The prices are unbelievable as well, a huge freshly made sandwich for $ 3? Can’t beat that!

The people working there were very nice but the bagels were not very good. Too dense and almost wet tasting. I will say I bought them late in the day but I eat a bagel a day and I feel there are better bagels in the area. They did have a few flavors that I haven’t seen at the other local shops like Italian and chocolate.

This place has been here for years and I decided to stop in since I was in the area today. The menu has a lot of choices and each of the gourmet sandwiches are named after movie stars. How creative is that! Along with a Mango mania smoothie, I settled for the Barbara Streisand Sandwich, which was turkey breast, honey mustard, and melted Swiss cheese on a sub roll. It even came with a side of potato salad, macaroni salad, chips, or house salad. The sub was huge and I couldn’t finish it all. However, the smoothie was a little too sweet for my liking and the items were kind of overpriced. I guess it weighs out since they have an area with couches and a TV to watch for entertainment. That’s something you don’t see in a bagel deli shop every day.
