If I could give less than 1 star I would. First, the hostess couldn’t find our reservation which was embarrassing because she made us stand there for a very long time. I had to «prove» to her that we had reservations by showing her my mobile phone call log.
The coat check girl lied to us and told us that her coat closet was full then proceeded to take the other three people behind us coats .
The other coat check closet girl with the ratchet tatoo on the back of her neck took our coats then gave us wrong directions to our dinning room.
The lobster bisque was served with a tea spoon so I asked the bus boy for a soup spoon after our waitress was nowhere to be found. 15 minutes later my husband followed up with the bus boy about the, now cold; lobster bisque. The bus boy told us that, the maitre’d; Roman advised the bus boy not to get the soup spoon because it wasn’t his job.
For a $ 230 tab for a two person dinner that staff did a great job at ruining our Valentine dinner. Besides the fact that the food was mediocre. Smh

My fiancée and I tried to book The Manor for our wedding. The salesman was very flippant and extremely unresponsive to our request. We contacted him numerous times telling him via email that we were ready to book. Days would go by where there would be no reply. When he finally would reply he was unorganized and could not answer any of our questions! I began to get the feeling that they did not want to book to my fiancée and I because we were African-​American. I asked my friend and his wife to meet with him and ask about our date just to see what he would say. You guessed it, he told my Caucasian friends our date was available and no one had inquired about it. No matter how beautiful the facility may be the ugliness of racism overshadows it all.

What an epic disappointment to my family for my Mother’s 60^th birthday. The last time we went, 10 years ago it was a Gem! Wow what happened, the food was an absolute disgrace for the cost, $ 600+ dollars for buffet and 6 drinks and coffee. You can taste the caliber of the seafood is now second rate. Raw oysters tasted a day older they should, lobsters tails chewy as well as the remainder of the food that just should blow you away. At these prices, even the Caesar salad should be the best of its kind, but no. We left with empty wallets as well as broken hearts, goodbye Manor, we will never ever return unfortunately and the experience will haunt me as to how many other things we could have done on this budget for my mother.

Beautiful Love to go here for special celebrations. With family and the Buffet is outstanding a must try if you have not gone to the Lobster or Sunday Brunch.

Had an amazing dinner and service was exquisite. I will be returning. The lobster was cooked to perfection. Had a great birthday celebration with my fiancé. It is high end and they enforce the dress code.

Review for the buffet.
Cut right to the good stuff. Go straight for the Lobster. Get your dollars worth. I can take down about 8 to 10 half tails. But I also love the shrimp cocktail, the soups are good too, prime rib is good as well. Don’t waste your time on the oysters. Not a fan. Just fill up on the lobster.
And make sure you leave room for dessert. The dessert buffet has another two meals for itself.
I love this place when I’m crazy hungry with zero diet restrictions. I recommend working out and not eating for 24 hrs before coming.

So stuck in time ?? What a shame such a great location but the owners have no clue? They have done renovations that look ridiculous compared to the rest of the place ?? I guess they have made so much money They don’t care but I would t go back if it was free we ate at aka carte dining the tables and chairs creaked from old age? The decorations were 20 years old ! They should let a sleeping horse die ?? Just sell it to someone who cares !! Move on

My family and I have always been a huge fan of the Lobster Buffet here. FYI: If you love seafood/​lobster you must try it at least once!
Yesterday for Thanksgiving, we decided to do their Thanksgiving buffet. It was fantastic! So many selections and everything was delicious. The turkey was moist and tender and the gravy was hearty and rich. The potatoes were perfect. I also had a few slices of lamb that was perfectly cooked. (my only complaint was no mint jelly. Seriously? Lamb and no mint jelly??) There was something for everyone. A ham station, oysters and cold shrimp cocktail, pene with vodka sauce, tortellini alfredo, tilapia fillet in a cream sauce, and so much more! The lobster and mushroom bisque soups are to die for! Naturally there was chicken fingers and french fries for the kiddies. The four huge tables of desserts were outstanding as well. We had no less than four servers in our section that were only a gesture away for drinks and whatever else we might have needed. Plates were cleared away as soon as you pushed it away from you. I’m glad we went to the 12:30PM seating because when we left at almost 3PM, the lobby was PACKED with people waiting to get in! Needless to say, it’s almost 2AM and I haven’t eaten since I got home! Maybe by 8AM I’ll be able to eat some breakfast. :)

Drove almost 2 hours here from NYC to celebrate a birthday with the lobster buffet and it was so worth it!
We were greeted warmly when we arrived, by both the valet and the hostesses. We were taken to our table promptly and our waiter came over almost immediately.
We enjoyed everything about the buffet dinner. The selection was amazing: from smoked salmon to cream of mushroom soup, chicken fingers to lobster, chocolate mousse to crème brûlée, if you want it they most likely have it at The Manor.
After dinner we toured the beautiful hall and enjoyed the amazing view of the courtyard.
For those who aren’t too stuffed after dinner there’s dancing upstairs in The Dome.
All in all a good experience. I would return and would definitely recommend.,

I came here for their $ 65 Dinner (lobster) buffet. It’s expensive but worth it. The Martinis (Mango especially) were perfectly made. I recommend trying their International coffee which is made in front of you (staff puts on a show). I highly recommend coming here if you have a large party for a special occasion.

The food was so average! Who ever thinks that the food is amazing never really ate great food! The place is really nice. They had a party upstairs that my friends and I crashed. But the food was really just ok. The Seasoning Was Bland On Some foods. That place is really just a one shot deal. To expensive for the quality of food, not worth it.

This place is such a joke. Went for Sunday brunch and was told I had to wear a diner jacket, which they loaned me. Fine. During brunch I was reminded twice that when getting up from my table I had to put said dinner jacket on, to get myself more chewy scrambled eggs and over cooked bacon.
Such pretenses over a mediocre brunch that I could have had in Brooklyn in shorts and tshirt. Don’t go here. Just don’t. Bad food and pretentious hosts. What a bland brunch. Wow so sad these people are still living in the 1940s. And it’s not even NYC. It’s off a crappy highway in Jersey.

This is the best place in North Jersey for weddings. Some people say it is overrated or a «wedding factory». They are sadly mistaken. Everything at The Manor is first class. I especially enjoy their cocktail hour and top shelf open bar. The service is outstanding. One of their bartenders actually brought a drink to my table after I had a few.

I came here for a friend’s wedding and had a great time. Unilocaling a wedding venue is hard because there are so many independent variables that are specific to the wedding you’re attending, but The Manor did a great job from start to finish which warrants praise.
According to my parents, The Manor was the *it* place to get married back in the day, and I certainly believe it. It’s a bit of a drive from NYC (it took me ~1 hour from the Bronx) but it’s a really pretty place. The grounds themselves are lovely; beautiful gardens and quaint buildings situated along the property — I felt like I was on the set of the TV show Dynasty. The actual ceremony was held in the gardens in a gazebo/​pavilion which was a beautiful backdrop for a wedding. The inside was just as lovely — very upscale, almost Victorian-​esque themed.
The entire wedding was pretty seamless, and the food was pretty good for catering hall wedding fare. A nice touch was that in addition to wedding cake for dessert they had a Viennese table — I was impressed.
Overall I had a wonderful time. The Manor may not fit everyone’s taste, but they put on a great wedding, the food is decent, and the grounds are beautiful.

Made a reservation for a family Sunday brunch and when I called I was told the dress code is business casual and no jeans and flip flops are allowed. My boys were wearing dress shorts and they didn’t let us in. When we asked if they have loaner pants the hostess told us there is a K mart nearby and we can buy pants there.
This is a weird place. There is no sign anywhere not allowing shorts and we were stopped at the door. Dress Shorts are not allowed and K mart pants are allowed.
Will never come back again.

My wife and I celebrated our 15^th wedding anniversary at the manor last night.
730 seating for their famous lobster buffet.
I had not visited the manor for several years.
It was nice to see them relax the dress code a bit.
Used to be that you had to wear a shirt, tie, jacket etc.
As of now it’s business casual. I wore a suit collared shirt and I scrapped the tie.
The grounds outside are still second to none.
Gorgeous grass, trees, flowers etc surrounding the tremendous mansion.
The inside is old English style, very tastefully decorated. Service is as I remember, quite a bit of attention. The bill for my wife and I was $ 145 with tip.
The buffet is $ 60 a person plus tax tip and beverages.
In the past I went to the manor for 3 things, lobster, prime rib and desserts. I was never impressed with the food aside from these 3 things. I was pleasantly surprised and I believe they may have changed chefs
I enjoyed the shrimp cocktail… peeled yay!
The mushroom ravioli was outstanding
Tortellini Alfredo was well above average.
Short ribs were very good, cooked down in a red wine sauce. Prime rib was excellent, offered with a mushroom gravy or au jus both were great choices.
The lobster was plentiful, whole lobsters split in half, claws removed. I had about 8 tails and called it a day.
Butter is provided and yes the lobster could have been seasoned better. I found myself sprinkling salt into the butter. Other options which I declined to taste included smoked salmon, turkey, lamb, roasted chicken, pâté, quiche, assorted cheeses.
I recall having sushi in the past at the manor however there wasn’t any last night. Dessert selections are impressive, crème bulee, ice cream, sorbet, pastries, cookies, chocolate dipped fruit, cheesecake and apple cobbler. The apple cobbler is the star imo.
Coffee is included. Expresso and cappuccino are additional, sodas are $ 3.75 each, martinis are $ 12 the price of a glass of average wine is $ 9 while a bottle was between $ 35 and $ 45
Overall this was a nice evening, a good value imo.
Thursday night might be the best night to go, very quiet, no lined, fresh food.

In the middle of the NJ suburbs sits a majestic building. You take this regal looking structure for a palatial residence courtesy of the tall and intimidating wrought iron gate, the long and winding driveway, the tall spires set atop the roof, or the large and lush, extremely manicured green courtyards adorned with ornate gazebos and water features, all of which is overlooked by expansive wrapping balconies and patios. But if you did, you’d be incorrect, because this manor is all for show. From what I could tell no royalty has ever taken up residence here, but for the right price, those that choose to hold their special events here can feel like royalty during their stay.
I visited the Manor to celebrate the wedding of two good friends. I mean seriously, why else would I be in New Jersey? I wasn’t sure what to expect of the place but found myself there on two separated days during my visit. The first night was spent in Le Dome Bar, which is open to the public and sits on the top floor of the building. Le Dome has a small bar and a large sitting room with floor to ceiling glass windows that expose grand views of the entire property. Off one side Le Dome has a balcony with tables that overlooks one of the many beautiful courtyards. The first night I enjoyed a bourbon while listening to popular dance music and being bombarded by a poor attempt at a laser light show being put on by a DJ who’s specialty is clearly weddings! The spirit selection is minimal, but they do have some of the better corporate brands available in the bourbon dept. I chose Woodford Reserve. Price? Well… It’s the only bar nearby so be prepared.
The second time I was actually there for the wedding itself. The courtyard was where the ceremony took place and it made a beautiful setting. Afterwards we headed inside and made our way to the opposite side of the building for the cocktail hour. It was sort of a sun room with these beautiful tall windows letting in natural light and views of a magnificent concrete courtyard. It was too cold to sit out there this evening but I could just imagine an afternoon affair there! The cocktail hour food was great and infinite in selections from seafood to sushi, charcuterie to fried mac and cheese and even a full carving station and Italian bar with eggplant parmigiana, pasta, and even pallea (not Italian). Who needed dinner?
Cocktail hour done, the staff revealed the dining room by sliding beautiful stained glass windows away. Dark wood and built in wall units lined the walls and each had very nice décor elements tucked inside. A large dance floor was at the center of the room, over which hung massive chandelier. It was a beautiful place to witness the couples first dance, listen to stories, and celebrate two great friends.
Honestly, there are ballrooms and event spaces, and then there are places like The Manor which truly have character all their own. This venue has the atmosphere and ambiance that will easily have you and your guests feeling like royalty. I certainly did!

This place is quite the impression. It puts the words «fancy» to shame. I simply loved the décor. The workers are professional and they work with other companies as a team. The wedding was amazing. I would recommend anyone who’s planning on future weddings to check this place out. Be warned it is quite $$$$. But if you got it. It’s well worth the money for a special occasion.

The Manor is a great venue for a special occasion like a wedding, party or a meeting. This place is classy, elegant and well maintained. The Gardens are perfectly trimmed.
I came here for the all you can eat buffet. The buffet had Lobster, several different kinds of fish, a variety of meat and desserts as well. Think of this place as an upscale Vegas buffet in New Jersey. I did find it a bit peculiar that a Sport Jacket was required to attend dinner. Overall we had a very good experience.
Another thing I found a bit strange… the staff (looked like the Italian Mafia) added the Gratuity in automatically with our check. Now I wasn’t one to complain, since we had a pretty good experience. In fact we were planning to leave a bigger tip that what they had put in… their loss. However, on the flip side… what if the service or the food was horrible? Why should I be «forced» to pay any Gratuity, especially an amount they designate. I have a feeling, if I needed to make a complaint, it would not have any weight or go very far here…

I went to the Manor recently for a celebratory dinner with my bf and his family. This place exudes an old-​world, overly decadent atmosphere. At the entrance of the a la carte dining room, hangs a sign that reads: «Gentlemen are requested to wear jackets and tie.» And they mean it!
Let’s begin with the bread basket. Some people may think that this is a small part of a meal but I consider it pretty darn important, because (a) I love my bread and (b) it’s your first impression of the restaurant’s food. If a restaurant serves underwhelming bread, you start your meal off underwhelmed. The Manor served a wonderful assortment of delicious breads. There was only one bread in the basket that didn’t agree with me: the stout, fat roll stuffed with what seemed like onions or pickled radishes. All the other breads, particularly the crispy, buttered toast slices (?) were fantastic.
After the bread bowl came the amuse-​bouche: a cone-​shaped bite of smoked salmon and cream cheese wrapped in a crispy crêpe-​like substance, followed by an espresso-​sized cup of gazpacho. The smoked salmon was delicious and it was a great precursor to my appetizer which was a whole plate of their smoked salmon. The refreshing gazpacho served as a wonderful palate cleanser.
For an appetizer, I ordered the smoked salmon and BOY, is their smoked salmon good! Most of the smoked salmon I’ve had in the past have been disappointing in some way: sliced too thick, under-​smoked, over-​smoked, salted after being smoked (?)… don’t know if that’s even a thing but I’ve come across abysmally salty smoked salmon before. This salmon, though, was DIVINE. It was perfectly sliced, perfectly smoked (and I mean perfectly!), and paired fantastically with the dollop of cream cheese and sprouts.
After the appetizer, we got the house-​made caesar salad for the whole table. The waiter pulled up a cart filled with olive oils, cheese, eggs, and other ingredients next to our table and began the show. They literally make the entire salad from scratch here, including the dressing; True Caesar salad is made with raw egg yolk. Even the lettuce was fresh and chopped before our eyes. It was a simple salad but made with finesse and tasted absolutely delicious.
Finally, for the main course, I ordered the Chateaubriand, which was also finished and served table-​side. Everything on the dish was delicious though I do wish the server had cooked the beef more. I know there’s a consensus that beef should never be over-​cooked but I’m one of those people who prefer beef to be closer to well done. Something about the slimy texture of medium and rare beef gets to me… But other than my strange tastes, this dish was great. Even the vegetables were deliciously well-​prepped. They were so good, my bf ended up eating a lot of them when we took the leftovers home and he never willingly eats veggies!
After the main entrée, we were all stuffed with no room for desert and tons of food to take home. It was overall, a very satisfying meal.
Food: ⁴⁄₅ — Great! The salmon was the absolute best.
Service: ³⁄₅ — The service was only ok. At a restaurant like this, you shouldn’t have to remind the waiter to refill your bread basket. The amuse-​bouche also arrived a bit late and delayed our appetizers.
Atmosphere: 2.5÷5 — Lovely at first glance though upon closer inspection, you realize that the place needs some maintenance: some of the chandeliers need polishing, the carpets are old and worn or have subtle stains, the curtains are faded or fraying at the edges, etc. These are small things that most people wouldn’t notice at first glance but for a place this expensive, the little things should matter.
Overall: ³⁄₅ — Good, though the lack of maintenance in their décor takes away from the overall experience
