Here you’ll find friendly staff and a good time. Public Skating Rates: Adults — $ 8 Children — $ 6 Seniors — $ 6 Skate Rentals — $ 4 Public session times vary so make sure you check the website for dates and times. They host a wide range of events including hockey games, wrestling matches, graduations, birthday parties, figure and speed skating, open skate, public skate, etc. You can sign up for skating lessons for your little ones. You can rent the ice privately or have a party during the public skating hours. There are 2 rinks. One has stadium style seating and the other has bleachers. The ice is cut before every event and is maintained well. There are also 3 party rooms, an arcade, and lockers to store your belongings for $ 0.50. No pro shop at this location! The space is being used for goal tending training. There is a skate shop across the street. Make sure you check out the concession stand which is open for public sessions, high school hockey games, and special events. They accept cash, card, and check. Order food for your parties there too! They have plenty of options for your taste. They are located in the South Mountain Recreational Complex down the street from the Safari Mini Golf, in front of the Turtle Back Zoo, and next to the Education Building and Tree Top Adventure Course. The area is really nice and fun for the whole family.

It’s still a pretty nice facility. There are two rinks. One with stadium style seating, the other with bleacher style seating. Both ice surfaces are well maintained. In the summer months they melt one of the surfaces and have roller and floor hockey leagues. There are concessions, arcade games and a hockey/ice based sports shop inside where you can have your skates sharpened in addition to purchasing sporting goods. Parking is ample, especially with the addition of the adjacent parking deck. They have all sorts of hockey leagues for multiple age groups as well as skating lessons and«open» skates for the public, all for reasonable prices. The ice can be rented, but be prepared to get an off time in the middle of the night, as most of the prime times are snatched up by regular leagues and groups. Unfortunately, the NJ Devils no longer practice here. Those practices used to be free and open to the public, but now they’ve moved on to Newark and the Prudential Center.

Nice clean facility with plenty of room to skate or sit in the bleachers. Some decent food options and a small arcade are on premises. There is plenty of parking and it is conveniently located next to Turtle Back Zoo.
