The owner of Jerry’s Artist Outlet is Allen Shefts, a New Jersey resident with a long and illustrious history in the retail art supply industry. Having previously been the CEO of the world’s largest art and craft suppliers, he has the experience and expertise required to offer a unique, exciting discount artist supply store. His motivation comes from a belief in the importance of art in our daily lives and his desire to feed a growing population of Metropolitan Area Artists.

Allen is very proud of Jerry’s Artist Outlet and the capable, effective staff that works with him. The great prices are terrific but customer service is especially important at Jerry’s! Along with working at the store and training a very knowledgeable staff, Allen and Jerrys have become involved with local schools and organization to encourage artistic and humanitarian growth in our community.

Was in need for some spray paint and found this awesome supply store on Unilocal and was in and out under 5 minutes. The staff member who helped us was great– informative and efficient. Will definitely be back for any other art supply needs

Their prices and selection are pretty good. I see a lot of people complaining about the staff. I don’t have a problem with the staff. For the most part, they are way better to deal with than the self absorbed types you might find working in a lot of other art stores. Still, I never feel totally comfortable going in there. It appears to be a family owned and operated location, sometimes that’s nice, sometimes it can be a little off-​putting. In the end, if I need paint, I go to Jerry’s. Haven’t been to a Pearl or Utrecht in years…

Good prices, a shit ton of art supplies I thought I’d never see again after Pearl Paint closed up on Canal street in NYC and friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I’ve read some retarded ass reviews about the staff, the only time they HOVER is when they are helping you with the spray paint cuz it’s locked up in cages or if their stocking out art supplies!!! They ain’t spying on you cuz your a minority, Like DUUUUUUUUH!!!
Also, keep in mind it’s AN INDEPENDENT STORE!!! Meaning it’s not fucking Wallie World! A.k.a Walmart! So if you break shit, open up shit, try to return shit they can’t take back due to store policy, guess what?! The problem is yours!
Anyway, on a more positive note, they also have really good art seminars and demonstrations of art supplies, got a lot of good ideas to improve my shitty art skills :-)
love this store! I’m gonna do my best to keep it open! :-D

I could’ve easily spent over $ 500 at any other art store such as Blick or Utrecht but Jerrys saved me over $ 200 easily! The service is fantastic, the selection of materials is vast and of good quality, and the prices are hard to beat any where else. I highly recommend this shop to all artists of all levels. Can’t wait to go back! Definitely worth the trip!

If you are looking for an art supply place that has everything for fine arts in a manageable size space, this is a place you should check out! You can smell the oil paint and turpentine when you walk in, just like back in the day at Pearl Paint on Canal St! There aren’t too many places like this left with today’s big craft stores cornering the market. That said, there is still enough supply and variety here to be a bit overwhelming at first. Jerry’s has craft supplies, but seems more geared towards the fine arts market. To their credit they have a hip, helpful and eager staff constantly keeping the place re-​stocked and organized.

As much as I’d like to support my local, family owned art supply store, I always find myself back at Jerry’s because they always have without fail what I’ve needed. Their prices are better than other stores I’ve shopped, and someone always seems ready to answer a question, or to help me in some way. I have also taken a class there that I found to be quite useful for the price of admission.

As art supply stores go, Jerry’s is one of the best. To address a few of the other previous review comments:
All art stores are overpriced, offline and online alike. Art supplies are just expensive. Jerry’s prices are on par with the industry. In some cases I think they are actually cheaper.
The staff do hover over customers. Sometimes it comes across as just a bit too much of the «Can I help you find something,» variety of hovering, but occasionally it does feel like they’re keeping a close eye on everyone. But if you’re not opening boxes or stealing stuff, it shouldn’t be a bother.
Overall I think Jerry’s is the best in the area, prices are fair-​to-​good, and while the staff does hover they seem friendly too.

A bit pricey but they are well stocked and conveniently located. Not many better places in the area to locate hard to find items. They have also located items for us that they did not have in stock and brought them in.

I’ve been going to this location for the past 6yrs and their prices are actually very good, like with any store you may find more deals on a few items at one place versus another. They constantly have sales on various papers, pencils, and pens. I can’t speak for all mediums but if your primary medium is in Drawing and Illustration you’ll save a lot of money coming here.
The downside is the staff, generally all around flippant attitude, then followed by very aggressive customer service when they decide to help. Just be prepared when you go.

Jerry’s is a great local find. I have had family heirlooms framed here and they’ve done a great job. They have supplies for the artist and the art enthusiast. Great selection of calendars, planners, and kid art supplies. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

I always try to support local businesses, so i was happy to see an art supply store open in my area. I have been an illustrator for over 20 years and usually have to take a ride to Pearl, Utrecht or Dickblick.
After checking out this overpriced local art supply store i will never go back. I was immediately profiled by the owner (aaron) who proceeded to harrass me & my son. I’m not easily offended but this guy really ruined my day:(
I will continue to do business elsewhere before I give this buttnut a penny.

Horrible store and staff. I visited Jerry’s this past Sunday with my brother to pick up some Color Aid Paper and I will never visit this store again!!! I rather take a visit into the city to Pearls or Blick! A store associate asked if we needed help and we asked for the color aid paper. She showed where it was and walked away without asking if we needed further help. There was a box that was already opened so my brother was looking at it. Out of no where, two store associates were hovering over us, staring us down. I asked my brother which one is the packet you need and he picked it. Then very rudely one of the store associates grabs the open box and says «Are you not going to close the box? The way you found it?» Mind you he raised his voice. I kindly said it was found that way. He grabbed the box and started slamming it on the counter and said «Sure it was!». Never again will I visit this store again! They are over priced and horrible staff members.

Yup, this place is a winner. Really knowledgeable staff helped us frame our marriage certificate (Ketubah) and it was perfect! We had detailed attention to a very meaningful document that needed expert matting and framing. We could not have been happier with the job that was done, the quality of the work, and the speed at which this framing was completed. I would recommend them to anyone, even the most demanding and particular of clientele.
The place is well stocked with art supplies, so if that’s what you need-​you should find anything there!
Located in essex Green Shopping Center, parking is no problem.

Probably one of the best art supplies stores in Jersey. It’s rough out here. As an artist, a graphic designer, a former art student, there isn’t an art store in MILES, in a three county radius that is equivalent to Jerry’s or anywhere close to it. No, Michaels and AC Moore is not the same thing! This place is all I have. And thankfully, everything I’ve ever needed has been here. The staff here is super helpful, always willing to extend their hand out to you first before you even ask. Ample sized canvas, extensive frame collection, all sorts of modeling equipment for scaled architectural models, etc. For every level, every type of artist, this place is THE place.

Whoever Jerry is, he knew what he was doing. His staff is extremely knowledgeable and excessively helpful. If you walk in with a list for school, hand it to a staff member and they will fill your basket in five minutes with all you need. They also know pretty much everything when it comes to art supplies — if you need something they don’t have, they will tell you how they can get it. As with any good art supply staff, it is entirely possible that they all make fun of first time art buyers or out-​of-​place, half-​lost art seekers after you leave, but that’s how it goes and they will be very friendly to your face.
The store is full, but organized very well. Even if you are too shy to ask for help, you won’t be walking around forever to find what you need.* Jerry has stocked his artist outlet with a plethora of paper options, writing utensils and virtually everything else you need. There is absolutely no place like this in the near vicinity so say thanks to Jerry when you need art supplies and go visit him.

Jerry’s Art Outlet was a little store I found once I started working at my current job. This place has everything you could possibly need. I figured this out when I found that they even had left handed pen nibs for calligraphy which generally don’t exist in a sense that you’ll never find them anywhere. Since then I’ve bought things from paints to inks. There prices are usually cheaper than any other place I’ve been to in the Morris country area unless someone is having a sale.
If you need some supplies and are in the area or just want check out a pretty cool store it’s worth the stop. The people there are really friendly.
